The complicated orthography of Sanskrit and Pali loanwords in Khmer language poses a significant didactical obstacle, as the standard rules of Khmer orthography are irrelevant to those words. After a brief historical introduction, the relations between Sanskrit and Sanskrit > Khmer loanwords’ orthography are explained. Further on, a preliminary classification of Indic loanwords is provided, based on their morphological status and patterns of usage. The most important inference is that a relatively small number of immutable borrowings occurs in most frequently used compounds of Sanskrit and Pali origins. This approach yields two potential solutions to the aforementioned problem. Firstly, a learner of Khmer should study the basics of Sanskrit and Pali orthography and phonology, as they have a tremendous impact on the way borrowings are spelled. Secondly, the learner should note that many Indic loanwords in Khmer are in fact compounds, and observe the distribution patterns of their individual constituents.

This paper presents the results of research of influence of degree and number of polynomial terms of railway transition curves (TCs) on their dynamical properties. The research performed for needs of this work are planned numeric tests. The search for the proper shape means the evaluation of the curve properties based on chosen dynamical quantity and generation of such shape with the use of mathematically understood optimisation methods. For the needs of this work advanced vehicle model, dynamical track-vehicle and vehicle-passenger interactions as well as optimisation methods were exploited. The subject of the analysis are odd degree polynomial transition curves of the 5th, 7th, 9th and 11th degree. For each degree of the polynomial a range of acceptable number of polynomial terms was determined. One dynamical quantity - minimum of integral of vehicle body lateral acceleration - being the results of simulation of railway vehicle advanced model is exploited in the determination of quality function (QF).

Although it has been a settlement since the ninth century, the sources regarding Siedlce before it was granted the town charter are few. The town was situated at the northern edge of the Łuków district, which was a part of the Kingdom of Po-land. . The first houses were (found?) on the grounds of the present day palace and the town hospital. The first mention of Siedlce in the written records comes from 1441, when Wojciech of Michów from the Rawicz family exchanged his property with that of his relative Elżbieta, wife of Jan from Oleksów. He gave her half of Siedlce as well as half of Golice, Wola Siedlecka and Wola Golicka in the Łuków district and received in return half of Rudno and half of Składów in the Lublin district. . Elżbieta was in all probability the grandmother of Daniel Gniewosz Siedlecki, the owner of Siedlce at the turn of 16th century. In the early 16th century, Daniel Gniewosz's properties, and subsequently his son's, Stanisław Gniewosz’s, properties, flourished. In addition to Siedlce, they owned between ten and twenty other villages and ironworks by the Muchawka and Liwiec rivers. In 1532, a parish was established and a church under the name of the Blessed Virgin Mary and Stanislaus of Szczepanów, the bishop and martyr, was erected. Another success of Stanisław Siedlecki was the granting of the town charter by Sigismund I the Old in 1547 on the basis of which a e town, named Nowa Siedlcza, was established a little further west from the village.

This article concerns assessing the dynamical properties and shape optimization of railway transition curves (TCs) for the wide range - 600, 900, 1200, 2000, 3000, and 4000 m - of circular arc radii. The search for the optimum shape means in the current article the evaluation of the curve properties based on chosen dynamical quantities and generation of such shapes with use of a mathematically understood optimization method. As a transition curve in the studies performed, the authors adopted a polynomial of n-th degree, where n = 9 and 11. In the study one model of rail vehicle was used. The model represented 2-axle freight car of the average values of parameters. The authors took the so-called standard transition curves of 9th and 11th degrees, and 3rd degree parabola as initial transition curves in the optimization processes. As quality functions (evaluation criteria) the authors used three functions concerning lateral and vertical vehicle dynamics, and creepages in wheel-rail contact. In this work, the results of the optimization - types of the curvatures of the optimum transition curves - were presented and compared.
Celem pracy była optymalizacja kolejowych wielomianowych krzywych przejściowych 9. i 11. stopnia z wykorzystaniem niestandardowych kryteriów oceny krzywej oraz modelu pojazdu szynowego. Jako wspomniane kryteria oceny autorzy pracy zastosowali tu minimalizację wartości całki ze zmiany przyspieszenia poprzecznego i kątowego nadwozia pojazdu po długości drogi oraz poślizgów w kontakcie koło-szyna. W pracy jej autorzy użyli jednego modelu pojazdu kolejowego. Był nim model 2-osiowego wagonu towarowego o uśrednionych wartościach parametrów, który jest rozważany w stanie ładownym. Prosta konstrukcja pojazdu skutkuje akceptowalnymi czasami obliczeń, co jest korzystne w dużej liczbie optymalizacji. W modelu tym przyjęto liniowość zawieszenia pojazdu - liniową sztywność i tłumienie elementów zawieszenia pojazdu. To samo zastosowano w modelu toru. Wykorzystany w pracy model zawiera wszystkie kluczowe elementy modeli dynamicznych pojazdów szynowych, takie jak: kluczowe elementy masowe (zestawy kołowe i nadwozie pojazdu), elementy zawieszenia (elementy sprężyste i tłumiące), koła i geometrię szyn opisaną przez rzeczywisty, nieliniowy kształt ich profili. Poza tym, styczne siły kontaktowe są obliczane przy użyciu uproszczonej nieliniowej teorii kontaktu J.J. Kalkera. Ponadto, model pojazdu jest uzupełniony modelem toru. Może on być traktowany jako zaawansowany model dynamiczny, zwłaszcza gdy porówna się go do punktu materialnego reprezentującego pojazd w tradycyjnych metodach oceny i kształtowania krzywych przejściowych. W pracy przyjęto następujące wartości promienia łuku kołowego R równe: 600 m, 900 m, 1200 m, 2000 m, 3000 m oraz 4000 m. Dla konkretnych wartości R i przechyłki d, autorzy zawsze obliczali prędkość pojazdu, zgodnie ze wzorami tradycyjnie przyjętymi w praktyce inżynierskiej. Przyjęto, że każda krzywa otrzymana w pracy ma krzywiznę (oraz rampę przechyłkową), która została zakwalifikowana do jednej z 5 grup. Wspomniane 5 grup (typów) to: - typ 1 - krzywizna jest w praktyce zbliżona do krzywizny wzorcowej 9. i 11. stopnia, – typ 2 - krzywizna ma kształt pośredni pomiędzy krzywizną wzorcową 9. i 11. stopnia, a parabolą 3. stopnia, krzywizna ta ma styczność typu G1 w skrajnych punktach, - typ 3 - krzywizna quasi-liniowa, bardzo zbliżona do krzywizny paraboli 3. stopnia, - typ 4 - krzywizna ma wklęsły charakter, jest ostra (4a) lub ma ciągłość typu G1 (4b) na początku KP i zawsze ostra na końcu KP, - typ 5 - krzywizna ma wypukły charakter i styczność typu G0 na początku i końcu krzywej.

Przedmiotem badań w niniejszym artykule jest forum CarderPlanet funkcjonujące w latach 2001 – 2004. Była to pierwsza strona internetowa mająca charakter forum międzynarodowego/multijęzykowego, na której cyberprzestępcy posiadający różnorakie umiejętności bądź dobra, konkurowali zgodnie z prawem popytu i podaży. CarderPlanet było jednak nie tylko swoistym centrum handlowym dla cyberoszustów, ale oferowało również zabezpieczenie transakcji przeprowadzonych za pośrednictwem tej strony. W artykule analizie poddano strukturę organizacji, leżącą u podstaw sieci społecznych oraz kontroli formalnej i koordynacji na forum. Przedstawione zostały także mechanizmy, które CarderPlanet zastosowało rozwiązując problem deficytu zaufania. Dzięki nim zminimalizowano związane z tym koszty transakcji w stopniu umożliwiającym nielegalny handel.
The main subject of the analysis is CarderPlanet forum available from 2001 to 2004. It was the first website designed as an international and multilingual space within which cybercriminals with various skills and goods could have competed according to the principles of the law of supply and demand. The CarderPlanet was not only a kind of trade center for carders, but it also served as a means of securing the transactions carried out via this website. The article explores the organization structure underlying social networks, as well as the formal control and coordination system employed within the forum. It also presents the solutions developed by the CarderPlanet to handle the problem of a trust deficit, making possible the reduction of transaction costs to ax extend allowing for illegal trade possible.

Rorty draws from pragmatism, conversation, edification, and hermeneutics, but in spite of his reference to Dewey’s thesis on pragmatism, Rorty’s notion of ‘pragmatism’ is not offered as an idea of something that might fill the gaps left by slowly dying traditional philosophy. It is rather a more relaxed attitude of mind. He goes beyond the traditional notion of pragmatism and insists that the search should not focus on truth but on solidarity, in other words, what we as a group of people create and decide what is true. Truth, for Rorty, is a society’s exercise and agreement of what is true. It is achieved by discourse and not limited conversations. In order to educate a person as an individual who lives in a particular society with all the factors contributing to his/her growth, Rorty adopts a new word for education, namely edification, with its philosophical consequences. He draws on the work of Hans-Georg Gadamer to explore the idea of ‘edification,’ a word Rorty uses to gloss Gadamer’s Bildung (education, self-formation) (Rorty 1979).

Continuing our studies on proctolin (Arg-Tyr-Leu-Pro-Thr) we performed the synthesis and biological evaluation of 52 analogues substituted in position 2, 3, 4, and 5 of the peptide chain. The peptides were bioassayed for cardiotropic activity in vitro on Tenebrio molitor and myotropic activity on foregut of Schistocerca gregaria. Twenty analogues retained 20-80% of proctolin activity.

Metoda polega na pobieraniu zawartego w powietrzu nitroetanu na węgiel aktywny, desorpcji octanem etylu i analizie chromatograficznej otrzymanego roztworu. Oznaczalność metody wynosi 7,5 mg/m3.
A worker’s exposure to airborne nitroethane is determined by using an active charcoal tube (100/50 mg sections). Samples are collected at a maximum flow rate of 5 L/h until a maximum collection volume of 10 L is reached. After sampling the active charcoal tube is desorbed in ethyl acetate. Analysis is conducted with gas chromatography using a flame ionisation detector (GCFID). The working range is 7.5 to 150 mg/m3 for a 10-L air sample.
