Opis:
The main problems connected with the functioning of electric energy market in Ukraine include: losing control over part of the energy infrastructure and raw material resources due to the annexation of the Crimea and civil war in the eastern part of the country, excessive energy dependency on Russia, too low energy prices, unstable political situation, corruption and oligarch-oriented economy. The starting point for the Ukrainian electric energy in the reform era should be considered as critical: considerable part of the infrastructure is outdated and used in an inefficient way and traditional system of providing such raw materials as gas, coal or enriched uranium has broken down, which makes it difficult to obtain energy independence and self-sufficiency from Russia. The answer to all those recognized problems and potential threats is the programme of profound reforms and changing of the model of functioning of electric energy market, whose main aim is modernization and making the system market-oriented as well as its full integration with the European system.

Opis:
Samochody elektryczne (SE) są obecnie uważane za jeden z najlepszych sposobów obniżenia emisji zanieczyszczeń powietrza w transporcie drogowym, w tym CO2 i hałasu w miastach. Mogą również w wydatny sposób przyczynić się do zmniejszenia zależności transportu drogowego od importu ropy naftowej. Niemniej jednak zapotrzebowanie na energię elektryczną dużej ilości SE w drogowym transporcie nie jest bez znaczenia i ma wpływ na system elektroenergetyczny. W artykule przeanalizowano potencjalny wpływ SE na popyt, podaż, strukturę i koszty wytwarzania energii elektrycznej oraz emisję CO2 i zanieczyszczeń powietrza w wyniku wprowadzenia na polskie drogi 1 mln SE do 2025 r. oraz potrojenia tej liczby do 2035 r. Do obliczeń wykorzystano model konkurencyjnego rynku energii elektrycznej ORCED. Wyniki analizy wskazują, że niezależnie od strategii ładowania, popyt SE powoduje niewielki wzrost ogólnego zapotrzebowania na energię elektryczną w Polsce i w konsekwencji również niewielki wzrost kosztów wytwarzania. Nawet duży wzrost SE w transporcie drogowym będzie powodował raczej umiarkowane zapotrzebowanie na dodatkowe moce wytwórcze, zakładając że przedsiębiorstwa energetyczne będą miały pewną kontrolę nad trybem ładowana aut. Wprowadzenie SE nie spowoduje obniżenia emisji CO2 w stosunku do samochodów konwencjonalnych w 2025 r., wręcz przeciwnie – zwiększy je niezależnie od strategii ładowania, gdyż energia dla pokrycia popytu SE pochodzi prawie wyłącznie z elektrowni węglowych. W 2035 r. natomiast, wniosek zależy od scenariusza ładowania i możliwe jest obniżenie, jak i wzrost emisji. Pojazdy elektryczne spowodują wzrost emisji netto SO2, przyczynią się natomiast do spadku emisji netto cząstek stałych oraz NOx.
Electric cars (SE) are currently considered to be one of the best ways to reduce CO2 and other air emissions in the transport sector as well as noise in cities. They can reduce the dependency of road transport on imported oil in a visible way. Nevertheless, the demand for electricity for a large amount of SE in road transport is not insignificant and has an impact on the power system. The article analyzes the potential impact of SE on the demand, supply, structure and costs of electricity generation as well as emissions as a result of introducing 1 million SEs by 2025 on Polish roads, and tripling this number by 2035. The competitive electricity market model ORCED was used for the calculations. The results of the analysis indicate that regardless of the charging strategy, the demand for SEs causes a slight increase in the overall electricity demand in Poland and consequently also a slight increase in power generating costs. Even a large increase in SEs in road transport will result in a rather moderate demand for additional generation capacity, assuming that power companies will have some control over the mode of charging cars. The introduction of SEs will not reduce CO2 emissions compared to conventional cars in 2025, on the contrary will increase them regardless of the loading strategy. In 2035 however, the result depends on the charging scenario and both the increase or decrease of emissions is possible. Electric vehicles will increase SO2 net emissions, but they will contribute to a decrease in the net emissions of particulates and NOx.

Recreational houses (WH) of a recreational nature may constitute an offer for the development of non-standard forms of recreation proposed by the domestic tourist industry. The paper presents some selected design problems of heating an exemplary WH house. For central heating (central heating) and domestic hot water (domestic hot water), it is proposed to use a compressor heat pump. It works with the central heating installation (water underfloor heating) and hot water, and with a lower source in the form of surface water in the lake. The heat exchanger for the brine is immersed in the lake water. The methodology for calculating the dimensions of the lower heat exchanger was presented. It was proposed that it will be made in the form of two coils made of polyethylene pipes and WH float sides placed on both sides. The design solution presented in the paper meets the conditions for qualifying as using renewable energy sources (RES). It should be noted that covering the demand for electricity for the WH house, including to drive the heat pump motor and for other living purposes in a residential superstructure, is also made using a hybrid system in the form of cooperation between wind turbines and photovoltaic panels. Problems regarding the WH hybrid electricity supply system will be the subject of a separate study.

Regenerative braking in electric or hybrid driven vehicles is now commonly used feature. Development of technologies of electrical machines, secondary energy sources, power electronics and control systems allows for more efficient using of this attribute. Regenerative braking system converts the kinetic energy of moving vehicles on this form of energy that you can store in a secondary source of energy. The most common form of energy after conversion is electricity, easy to store in batteries or supercapacitors. There also are known systems with storage of mechanical energy (high-speed flywheels with composite rotors). Drive systems with optional regenerative braking should take into account a number of aspects influencing the process. It is very important to maintain the stability of the vehicle movement during braking. Another important aspect is the cooperation of regenerative braking system with conventional, mechanical brake system of the vehicle driven by a single axis. Sizing of the electrical machine (or machines) is associated with the needs of the propulsion of the vehicle, which limits the amount of absorbed energy in the initial stage of braking. Individual elements of the system energy conversion efficiency chain complexity affect the energetic results of this process. On the energy, efficiency of the process of braking energy recovery affects string conversion efficiency in the individual components of the system. Regenerative braking is the important factor, which could improve electric vehicle market chances, particularly in the city or neighbourhood personal transport. The article contains a description of the technical and legal circumstances of the process of regenerative braking and energy aspects of this process.

Zbadano wpływ nowych źródeł fotowoltaicznych na niezawodność wytwarzania energii elektrycznej systemu testowego IEEE RTS-79. Wyznaczono Capacity Credit dla tych elektrowni, dzięki czemu zbadano ich zdolność do pokrywania obciążenia
The paper is devoted to methods of considering renewable energy sources in reliability analyses of the electric power systems. The special attention was focused on solar power plants. The way for modeling of primary energy availability for these sources was defined. The impact of the new photovoltaic sources on generation reliability in electric power system on example of IEEE RTS-79 was examined. Capacity Credit for these power plants was evaluated, thanks to that the ability to cover the demand for power was assessed.

This paper discusses the operation of a low voltage prosumer system consisting of receivers and power sources. The system represents a hypothetical customer with variable energy input and output. The main technical issues related to the operation of such a system are presented. The application of an electric energy storage in the system for the purpose of managing the active power and providing the ancillary services relevant for the system's owner is discussed. The basic criterion of the system's performance is maximizing the use of the energy generated by the prosumer and maintaining the power factor at a desired level. The storage efficiency was tested using a simulation model developed in the PSCAD / EMTDC program. Sample simulation results are presented.
Artykuł dotyczy analizy pracy instalacji prosumenckiej niskiego napięcia składającej się z odbiorników oraz źródeł energii elektrycznej. Badana instalacja odwzorowuje hipotetycznego odbiorcę ze zmiennym obciążeniem oraz zmienną produkcją energii. Przedstawiono główne problemy techniczne związane z pracą takiej instalacji. Rozważono zastosowanie w instalacji zasobnika energii elektrycznej, którego celem jest zarządzanie mocą czynną oraz realizacja usług pomocniczych istotnych z punktu widzenia właściciela instalacji. Podstawowym kryterium pracy układu jest maksymalizacja wykorzystania energii produkowanej przez prosumenta oraz utrzymanie współczynnika mocy na żądanym poziomie. Skuteczność pracy zasobnika zbadano za pomocą modelu symulacyjnego opracowanego w programie PSCAD/EMTDC. Zaprezentowano przykładowe wyniki symulacji

This paper represents the overall electrical energy profile and access in Bangladesh. In the modern time, energy is the vital ingredient for socioeconomic growth in the developing country i.e., alleviating poverty. Along with electricity access in Bangladesh strived to become the middle-income country by 2021. Bangladesh has experienced that energy consumption inclines to increase rapidly when per capita income reaches between US$ 1,000 and US$ 10,000, and a country’s growth momentum through reliable energy supply and consistent energy supply ensured by the sustainable energy. As increasing population in Bangladesh, the electric energy generation is an important dispute through the sustainable way.

The article discusses the prototype bus AMZ Kutno electrically driven. The aim of the project prototype electric powered bus was appointed a consortium consisting of AMZ Kutno and Department of Vehicles and Fundamentals of Mechanical Engineering of Technical University of Lodz. As a subcontractor prototype solutions involved: for battery power BMZ Gliwice, and for the control system ENIKA Lodz. The prototype bus with complete drive system is an entirely polish construction. The paper presents assumptions for the construction of a prototype electric drive system. It describes the criteria for the selection of the engine. Was analysed the available parameters of electric motors. Adopted electric motor is discussed in detail in terms of its performance characteristics. Required performance characteristics of electric motor shown in figure. The considerations taken into account and the aspect of the selection of the inverter and the microprocessor control system control the amount of energy in batteries and supercapacitors, depending on the instantaneous energy demand and the expected driving performance. Was compared the parameters of available batteries and set them the necessary capacity. It has been specified parameters of adopted battery pack. Was described the role and selection of supercapacitors in energy recuperation system provided. The assumptions were supported by the necessary calculations.

The paper presents the structure of hybrid and electric modern ship propulsion systems. Types and configuration of electrochemical cells for selected electric energy storage facilities on the ship were presented. The method and results of reliability analyses, such as failure mode effect analysis (FMEA), reliability block diagram (RBD) and fault tree analysis (FTA), used to estimate the probability of failure of the energy storage systems supplying the ship's main propulsion, are presented. Methods of evaluation and verification of the proposed reliability model using a laboratory model and available operational and service data are discussed. A proposal for a quantitative risk analysis of potential damage during the operation of the energy storage has been presented.

Models of electrical energy storage devices – a battery and a supercapacitor – as well as models of motor and a control system, were used to feature the work of a hybrid electric drive system. The models were adapted to simulate driving with a given driving cycle, in a quasi-static method, with the use of MATLAB-Simulink software. The advantage of this method is that calculations can be done quickly and results can be easily compared. A battery model enables determining voltage and charge level in relation to load current and temperature. The basic parameter of a battery is a nominal capacity. It is a measure of energy stored in the battery, which can be absorbed within discharge time, in conditions of temperature and current. The energy can be absorbed until the minimal voltage is reached in the clips. The article presents simulation of calculations lead that the described electric drive model. The model makes it possible to analyse different concepts of steering the whole system already in the initial phase. In particular, the article presents PMSM model and trajectories of selected parameters during a trapezoidal driving cycle.

The article presents the methodology for light two-wheeled electric vehicle energy balance investigation using MAHA LPS 3000 chassis dynamometer. For this purpose, the laboratory tests, as well as the road tests, have been performed on the self-constructed light two-wheeled electric vehicle equipped with the 3 kW BLDC motor and the 100.8 V battery pack. The road test data have been used to set up the dynamometer parameters in order to simulate the real road drive taking into account, among others, the rolling resistances and the air drag coefficient. The overall energy consumption for the laboratory tests and the road conditions’ tests have been then compared for different vehicle speeds. In addition, based on the power and the torque characteristics measured on the MAHA chassis dynamometer, the efficiency of the vehicle electric drive system and the efficiency of the battery charging process have been calculated.

The search for new, alternative propulsion and energy sources in transport is one of the economic and technological priorities of the current decade. The modern development of hybrid drives and electric means of transport makes it possible to at least partially diversify conventional drive systems. The study discusses the use of a battery and ultracapacitor in electric vehicles. Simulation analyzes of energy flow were performed using the solutions of electric drive systems and various energy storage control algorithms. The research was carried out in relation to the use of braking energy, its con-version into electricity and its storage in a battery or ultracapacitor. The operating conditions of the battery and the ultra-capacitor were assessed in terms of specific energy consumption while driving. The article proposed the use of a drive system connected in series, the last link of which was an ultracapacitor. Such a solution significantly reduced the use of the battery as well as its regular charging-discharging. At the same time, it required the use of a high-capacity ultracapacitor, which contributed to increasing its charging time. The analyzes were carried out using standardized research tests as well as tests in real traffic conditions. The research was carried out with the use of the AVL Cruise software for the analysis of energy flow in vehicles; a middle class passenger vehicle was selected for the tests, equipped with an electrochemical battery and – in the next stage of the research – an ultracapacitor. Three research models were used: I) typical electric drive system; II) a system with the use of ultracapacitors ran by a simple control algorithm; III) a system with the use of ultracapacitors with an advanced control algorithm (the algorithm took into account the change of driving conditions to the ultracapacitor charging conditions). The advantages of using ultracapacitors in the electric drive of a vehicle were demonstrated, especially for results obtained in real traffic conditions. Analyzing the simulation tests results allowed to determine the most advantageous options of utilizing these systems, in particular in the aspect of increased possibilities of algorithms controlling the flow of electricity in the drive system.
