We consider the generalized Lebesgue and Sobolev spaces on a bounded time-scale. We study the standard properties of these spaces and compare them to the classical known results for the Lebesgue and Sobolev spaces on a bounded interval. These results provide the necessary framework for the study of boundary value problems on bounded time-scales.

Opis:
In this work, we study the oscillation and asymptotic behaviour of third-order nonlinear dynamic equations on time scales. The findings are obtained using an integral criterion as well as a comparison theorem with the oscillatory properties of a first-order dynamic equation. As a consequence, we give conditions which guarantee that all solutions to the aforementioned problem are only oscillatory, different from any other result in the literature. We propose novel oscillation criteria that improve, extend, and simplify existing ones in the literature. The results are associated with a numerical example. We point out that the results are new even for the case $ \mathbb{T} = \mathbb{R} $ or $ \mathbb{T} = \mathbb{Z} $.

Opis:
Since 1972 , a leap second has been added, approximately once a year, into UTC, the world’s atomic time scale used for civilian purposes, to keep it in phase with the Earth’s rotation. Leap seconds ensure that the Sun remains over the Greenwich meridian at noon, with the accuracy of approximately 1 s. The issue of adding the leap second has been debated since 2000 by different working groups of various international organizations, especially ITU-R WP 7A. The main question remains whether the need for the leap second still exists, as its introduction is associated with numerous technical inconveniences. An overwhelming opinion that prevails in those groups is that it would be more beneficial to let the atomic time run its course and accept that the world’s civilian time scale is bound to slowly diverge from the rotation of the Earth. The National Institute of Telecommunications has become, in recent years, one of the leaders of this process. This article provides a brief history of the current UTC-related practices and outlines various potential solutions to the problem.

Opis:
There are different scales related to time; actually two the most important timescales are the TAI (Time Atomic International) and the UTC (Universal Time Coordinated). In addition to these times Satellite Navigation Systems (SNS) have developed their own system time: GPS Time (GPST), the GLONASS System Time (GLONASSST) and the Galileo System Time (GST). The sources, the generation and the relation between all these times and timescales are described in this paper. Additionally the time dilution of precision (TDOP) coefficient and the data concerning the time transmitted in navigation messages by satellites of different SNS will be presented.
Z czasem związane są różne skale, ale dwie najważniejsze z nich to TAI (Międzynarodowa Skala Atomowa) i UTC (Czas Uniwersalny Skoordynowany). Nawigacyjne Systemy Satelitarne (NSS) stworzyły jednak własne skale czasu: GPST - czas systemu GPS, GLONASSST - czas systemu GLONASS i GST - czas systemu Galileo.

This paper deals with the diagnosis of discrete-time singularly perturbed systems presenting two time scales property. Parity space method is considered to generate the fault detection residual. The focus is in two directions. First, we discuss the residual illconditioning caused by the singular perturbation parameter. Then, the use of the slow subsystem is considered to make the fault diagnosis easier. It is shown that the designed diagnostic algorithm based on reduced order model is close to the one synthesized using the full order system. The developed approach aims at reducing the computational load and the ill-conditioning for stiff residual generation problem. Two examples of application are used to demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed method.

t ∈ Iₐ = [0,a] ∩ T, a ∈ R₊,

where T denotes a time scale (nonempty closed subset of real numbers R), Iₐ is a time scale interval. Functions f,k are Carathéodory functions with values in a Banach space E and the integral is taken in the sense of Henstock-Kurzweil delta integral, which generalizes the Henstock-Kurzweil integral.
Additionally, functions f and k satisfy some boundary conditions and conditions expressed in terms of measures of noncompactness. Moreover, we prove an Ambrosetti type lemma on a time scale.

Opis:
In recent years global climate change has been the focus of much scientific research as well as a focal point in the media. A recent period of significant increases in global temperatures has caused much concern. This period was followed by a relative slowdown, which in turn has created confusion. There are two major reasons for global temperatures variations, one of which is oscillations of total solar activity in time. Another reason is atmospheric pollutants causing greenhouse effects. Obviously, solar activities cannot be controlled, but relevant pollutants can. Since these two reasons are independent components of global temperature variations, they must be separated in order to adequately study global climate changes. Solar irradiation transferred to Earth is proportional to sunspot numbers, which have been recorded for centuries. The purpose of this paper is to separate this solar component from long-term temperature data, thus leaving for examination the component created by human activities. This separation of components and examination thereof can be performed at numerous locations over Earth, that is, the time component and rates of its increases can be mapped over the globe. This paper smooths these images to display the different rates of temperature increases over different global regions, which allows for a comparison of different regional efforts to fight climate changes. In some regions, negative rates were occurring as of recent years, but other regions those rates are becoming alarmingly high. The average rate of temperature increase due to human influence over the planet is remaining positive. The regional comparisons offer a great opportunity for assessing different methods of control of global climate changes.
