    Opis:
    The analysis of some video interviews collected by the local historian Giorgio Delle Donne demonstrates how family background and external factors such as politics and the media have influenced the way the Italian-speaking population, which arrived in South Tyrol between the 1920s and 1940s, experienced its settling in a new area. The Oral History Archive stored in the Claudia Augusta Italian Provincial Library portrays the issues between the German and Italian-speaking groups in this borderland.
    Analiza kilku wywiadów wideo zebranych przez lokalnego historyka Giorgio Delle Donne pokazuje, w jaki sposób pochodzenie rodzinne i czynniki zewnętrzne, takie jak polityka i media, wpłynęły na sposób, w jaki ludność włoskojęzyczna, która przybyła do Południowego Tyrolu w latach 20. i 40. XX w., przeżywała zadomawianie się na nowym terenie. Archiwum Historii Mówionej przechowywane we Włoskiej Bibliotece Prowincjonalnej im. Claudii Augusty przedstawia problemy między grupami niemiecko- i włoskojęzycznymi na pograniczu.

    W artykule postulujemy włączenie metod stosowanych w językoznawstwie i literaturoznawstwie do analizy narracji biograficznych przedstawicieli Polonii argentyńskiej zebranych przez Ośrodek KARTA i Dom Spotkań z Historią w ramach Archiwum Historii Mówionej. Wykorzystanie w badaniach relacji mówionych Polonii argentyńskiej metod wypracowanych na gruncie tych nauk może stać się istotnym krokiem nie tylko poszerzającym perspektywę badawczą, ale przede wszystkim przybliżającym do uzyskania pełniejszej wiedzy na temat polskiej diaspory w kraju nad La Platą.
    In the article, we propose the inclusion of methods used in linguistics and literary studies in the analysis of biographical narratives of representatives of the Polish community in Argentina collected by the KARTA Centre and the History Meeting House as part of the Oral History Archive. The use of methods developed on the basis of these disciplines in the study of oral accounts of the Polish community in Argentina may become an important step not only broadening the research perspective, but above all, bringing closer a fuller understanding of the Polish diaspora in the country on La Plata.

    Praca ma na celu opis i refleksję nad narzędziem stworzonym do przeszukiwania największego na świecie zbioru relacji video Survivors of the Shoah Visual History Foundation nagranych metoda oral history. Zbiór zawierający 52 tys. nagrań ze świadkami historii został opatrzony 65 tys. haseł indeksowych. Nagrania opisane są terminami ze wszelkich dziedzin i obszarów życia, minuta po minucie. Jest to jedyny na świecie, wciąż mało znany w Polsce system, który błyskawicznie pozwala odnaleźć fragmenty o konkretnej tematyce spośród ponad 7 mln minut nagrań. Choć dla użytkownika jest to ogromne udogodnienie, może wpływać na pobieżną pracę z narracjami historii mówionej, których celem pierwotnym jest ukazanie procesu pamiętania i doświadczeń z przeszłości bardziej niż pojedynczych faktów.
    The work aim is to describe and reflect on the tool created to search the world's largest collection of video individual testimonies. The Visual History Archive is an online portal from USC Shoah Foundation that allows users to search through and view 52,000 oral history audiovisual testimonies of survivors and witnesses of the 2nd word war. Each video testimony has been indexed by 62,000 terms by assigning them to the relevant one-minute segments of each testimony. That allows you to find fragments about specific topics from over 7 million minutes of recordings. It is the only system in the world, still hardly known in Poland. While it brings users great conven-ience, it can affect a cursory work with narratives. This is because the primary purpose oral history is to show the process of remembering and experiences the past more than finding single facts.

    This article describes the emergence and specific characteristics of the largest social archive in Poland, the KARTA Center Archive of the KARTA Center Foundation [Archiwum Ośrodka KARTA; https://karta.org.pl/archiwa], a Polish non-governmental public benefit organization. The archive contains important source material relating to recent Polish history, including documentation of the fate of Polish citizens under Soviet occupation and in the USSR, and the history of the activities of independent groups in the Polish People’s Republic. In the course of its 37 years of operation, over a dozen thousand people have donated their own collections to the KARTA Center. Such gifts have included the personal collections of such significant figures of the anti-regime opposition as Jerzy Jedlicki, Stefan Kisielewski, Jacek Kuroń, Jan Józef Lipski, Zdzisław Najder, and many others.The archive also contains the “Twenty-One Demands-Birth of the Solidarity Trade Union” collection, which has documentation from the years 1980–1981 and was entered in the UNESCO Memory of the World Register in 2003. The KARTA Center Library, which currently contains the largest collection of independent Polish publications from the 1970s and 1980s, has been granted the status of an academic library

    This text concerns work connected with the organization of the Oral History Archive of Cieszyn Silesia [Archiwum Historii Mówionej Śląska Cieszyńskiego], an initiative combining academic research interests with the activism of the non-governmental sector. The archivization projects showcase the culture of Cieszyn Silesia on both sides of the national border dividing the region; they highlight the cultural pluralism of the past and the multi-faith nature of contemporary times. They also value women’s voices. The methodology of the projects consists in filming narrative interviews addressing important issues agreed upon by the research collective. Two films of oral history were produced on the basis of the material acquired.
