The article was conceived as an initial insight into the issues related to the representation of individual type costs (e.g. material, labor costs, property depreciation, etc.) in the price of water in the Czech Republic. The aim of the article was to point out the possibility of dependence between the size of the company operating the infrastructural property of water supply and sewerage and the representation of individual costs in the water price within the framework of the case study. As a sample that formed the outputs of the case study, 14 companies were taken, which were selected according to the unified regions of the Czech Republic. Both basic mathematical methods and elementary methods used in financial analysis were used in the analysis. Within the scope of the case study, it can be stated that there is no dependence between the size of the companies and the representation of costs. Among the largest costs from the point of view of financial representation are other direct costs, where the costs of depreciation, property repairs, rental property, as well as wage costs and material costs are mainly represented. Insignificant costs include, for example, energy costs, which are only represented in the range of 1.39–5.70% of the total costs. Therefore, in order for the results included in the case study to be considered statistically relevant, it is necessary to expand the sample and confirm or refute the initial findings published in this article.

The geological structure of the Bełchatów area is very complicated as a result of tectonic and sedimentation processes. The long-term exploitation of the Bełchatów field influenced the development of horizontal displacements. The variety of factors that have impact on the Bełchatów western slope stability conditions, forced the necessity of complex geotechnical monitoring. The geotechnical monitoring of the western slope was carried out with the use of slope inclinometers. From 2005 to 2013 fourteen slope inclinometers were installed, however, currently seven of them are in operation. The present analysis depicts inclinometers situated in the north part of the western slope, for which the largest deformations were registered. The results revealed that the horizontal displacements and formation of slip surfaces are related to complicated geological structure and intensive tectonic deformations in the area. Therefore, the influence of exploitation marked by changes in slope geometry was also noticeable.

W artykule przedstawiono analizę problemu wydłużania krzywych przejściowych, wykorzystując do tego celu analityczną metodę projektowania. Podstawą analizy były obliczenia numeryczne przeprowadzone dla zestawu parametrów charakteryzujących standardowy układ geometryczny: krzywa przejściowa – łuk kołowy – krzywa przejściowa (w wersji niesymetrycznej). Ocenie poddano różnice rzędnych poziomych istniejącego układu oraz układu z wydłużonymi krzywymi przejściowymi. Analityczny model zawiera sformułowane zależności teoretyczne dla poszczególnych stref układu geometrycznego, z zachowaniem występującego promienia łuku kołowego oraz przy jego modyfikacji. Rozpatrzono kwestie wpływu wielkości promienia łuku kołowego i kąta zwrotu trasy na uzyskane efekty. Bazując na teoretycznych założeniach, opracowano efektywny algorytm numeryczny umożliwiający analizę wariantową wydłużenia krzywych przejściowych. Według tego algorytmu wyznaczono rozkłady różnic rzędnych osi toru i sprawdzono, jak kształtują się względne różnice analizowanego układu w procesie wydłużania krzywych przejściowych. Rozpatrywano możliwości modelowania rozkładu różnic położenia osi toru przez różnicowanie zasadniczego, tj. wyjściowego promienia łuku kołowego. Zaproponowano sposób wyznaczania wartości tego promienia na drodze optymalizacji. W tym celu zdefiniowano wskaźniki do oceny procesu oraz ograniczenia determinujące możliwość wykonania wygenerowanych wariantów projektowych.
In the presentation, an analysis of the problem of transition curves extension has been discussed. For this purpose an analytical design method was implemented. The basis for the analysis was numerical calculations which were carried out for a wide set of parameters characterizing the standard geometric layout: transition curve – circular arc – transition curve (asymmetrical version). Obtained differences between the existing horizontal layout and the system of extended transition curve has been presented. For this purpose, suitable theoretical relations within the layout (for each geometrical zone) were formulated, keeping the radius of both the initial constant arc and the modified one. Moreover, an influence of the constant arc’s radius value and the value of an intersection angle on the obtained results of this process has been evaluated. Based on theoretical assumptions, efficient numerical algorithm enabling the analysis of transition curves extension has been developed. By the use of the algorithm the set of track displacement’s distributions have been investigated. The possibility of modeling of the track position differences distribution by varying the output radius of the arc was considered. In the paper a method of determining the new value of radius by optimization was proposed. For this purpose the indicators for assessing the process as well as restrictions determining the possibility of the implementation the design variants have been defined.

W pracy podjęto próbę nowego podejścia do kwestii poszerzania międzytorza, stawiając tezę, że należy je uformować przy zastosowaniu dwóch połączonych krzywych o odpo-wiednim rozkładzie krzywizny na długości. Założono, że na długości poszerzenia występują w strefach skrajnych obydwu krzywych odcinki zmiennej krzywizny, a w strefie środkowej krzywizna jest stała. Do rozwiązania problemu wykorzystano analityczną metodę projektowania, z identyfikacją rozkładu krzywizny za pomocą równań różniczkowych oraz matematycznym zapisem rzędnych w poszczególnych strefach krzywej poszerzenia. Rozpatrzono dwa przypadki rozkładu zmiennej krzywizny: liniowy i nieliniowy (wielomianowy). Uzyskanie określonej rzędnej końcowej poszerzenia torów wymaga sekwencyjnego korygowania przyjętych parametrów geometrycznych.
This paper presents a new approach to widening of intertrack space. A thesis was formulated that the widening should be formed using two combined curves with appropriate distribution of curvature along its length. On the length of the widening in the extreme zones of the two curves the sections of the variable curvature were assumed. However, the curvature in the central zone was taken as constant. To solve the issue the analytical method of designing was used. An identification of the curvature distribution was implemented through differential equations and mathematical description of ordinates in the individual zones of the curve widening. Two cases of variable distribution curvature were considered: linear and non-linear (polynomial). Obtaining a specific ordinate of the final widening requires sequential correction of adopted geometrical parameters.

The paper addresses the issue of determining the horizontal curvature of a railway track, noting that it is most often done indirectly – on the basis of measured sags from a chord stretched along the track. Further use of this method would not be justified if there were a direct method for determining the curvature. Therefore, the assumptions of the method for deter-mining the horizontal curvature from “Archives of Civil Engineering”, iss. 4/2020, are presented. This method is based on changes in the slope angles of the moving chord in the Cartesian coordinate system. Two important details are examined: the influence of the length of the chord on the obtained values of curvature and the possibility of determining the location of border points between particular geometrical elements. The analysed variants resulted from the type of transition curves used. It has been found that the length of the chord does not play a significant role in determining the curvature and does not limit the application of this method. At the same time, attention is drawn to the precision of determining the nature of the curvature and its compliance with the theoretical course on transition curves. The analysis shows that, in the moving chord method, it is possible to determine the location of the border points between the individual geometrical elements, but the required chord length must be adapted to the type of transition curve.

Contemporary and archive cartographic materials illustrating horizontal profile of the middle channel of the Narew River (between Ostrołęka and Łomża) were compared in the GeoMedia application. The results of the analysis revealed that natural and anthropogenic factors had not significantly contributed to changes in the channel profile over a period of two centuries. Narew is a meandering river, and its activity is associated with intensified erosion of right-bank bends and lateral movement along its flat-bed channel. The most noticeable changes include reduced area of oxbow lakes, mainly due to succession, and suburban settlement in floodplains that had been regarded as unfit for development in the 20th century.

The article presents the results of research concerning AlCu4MgSi alloy ingots produced using horizontal continuous casting process under variable conditions of casting speed and cooling liquid flow through the crystallizer. The mechanical properties and structure of the obtained ingots were correlated with the process parameters. On the basis of the obtained results, it has been shown that depending on the cooling rate and the intensity of convection during solidification, significant differences in the mechanical properties and structure and of the ingots can occur. The research has shown that, as the casting speed and the flow rate of the cooling liquid increase, the hardness of the test samples decreases, while their elongation increases, which is related to the increase of the average grain size. Also, the morphology of the intermetallic phases precipitations lattice, as well as the centerline porosity and dendrite expansion, significantly affect the tensile strength and fracture mechanism of the tested ingots.

This article deals with a dynamic simulation of the movement and fall of persons working at a height, using the rope belaying system. The input data, which are necessary for a created simulation model, were obtained from experimental measurements realised from the concrete belaying system. The simulation analyses were performed for three different values of the rope pre-load level. Consequently, the outputs from the simulations presented in this article were applied in a real design proposal of the rope anchoring arrangement for a horizontal belaying system.

W pracy przedstawiono wyniki symulacji opływu modelu wiatrakowca bez wpływu wirnika nośnego oraz śmigieł pchających. Trójwymiarowe obliczenia wykonano za pomocą programu ANSYS Fluent. Na podstawie przeprowadzonych obliczeń wyznaczono podstawowe charakterystyki aerodynamiczne. Dodatkowo zestawiono charakterystyki porównawcze wiatrakowca dla wersji bez usterzenia i z usterzeniem. Po przeprowadzeniu analizy zasugerowano sposób podejścia do optymalizacji geometrii.
This paper presents flow simulation results of gyrocopter model without affecting of gyro rotor and propellers. Three-dimensional calculations were performed using the ANSYS Fluent. Based on the calculations the basic aerodynamic characteristics have been made. In addition, the aerodynamic characteristics of gyro version without the tail and the with the tail have been compared. After analyzing the proposals of geometry optimization has been given.

The article presents the results of the adjustment of the experimental horizontal geodetic network using the classical method and the estimation of strengths in identifying observations with gross error and analyzing the accuracy of the obtained results. The presented analyses were made considering the possibility of their use in implementation networks and measurement and control networks used for monitoring building structures. The paper's subject was a horizontal network established on the Morasko campus (Poznań). While creating it, the practical needs and economics of measurements were taken into account. The obtained results of numerical analyzes confirmed the benefits of using the methods of estimating strengths in the equalization process, which give satisfactory results in the case of outliers.
