    Opis:
    In his paper, the author makes an attempt at reconstructing one of the first propositions in Poland to start a philosophical discourse on ecological problems. The author of this proposition is priest Tadeusz Ślipko. According to this author the problems of the moral aspects of natural environmental protection are also bioethical problems. Therefore, we can see that he does not consider ethics of the environment as an individual philosophical discipline. The article concentrates on presenting the sources and the range of moral duties of humankind towards the natural environment. Tadeusz Ślipko does not approve of the anthropocentric or biocentric standpoints in the issues of natural environmental protection. He offers his own idea of anthropopriorism, which takes the middle ground between these two extreme concepts. In conclusion, the author underlines that there is still a strong need for ethical reflection over the state of the natural environment along the lines of Ślipko’s stance.

    Opis:
    A visible lowering of the level of social sensitivity to ecological problems will be a starting point for the considerations in this article. The author associates such a status quo with the activity of political powers for which solving ecological problems brings only costs and, quite often, compromises the interests of institutions sponsoring politicians. Owing to the influence of the media, social activity is steered by the authority elites mainly in the spheres easy to control. Ordinary citizens concerned about the state of the surrounding environment do not make the decisions of how to deal with the issues of ecological dangers; rather the process is dominated by political and economic lobbies. Immediate economic goals have completely overshadowed the concern about the future of our planet up to now. Therefore, in the conclusion, the author claims that new ideas and impulse are needed today to activate a disorientated society. And this impulse should emerge from environmental ethics.

    Opis:
    Galenosphere is an environment of silence. The paper addresses the issue of the essence and significance of galenosphere. To this end, it presents the structure and functioning of galenosphere, i.e. its two crucial components. Moreover, the structure of galenosphere includes static and dynamic elements. The latter determine the functioning of this type of environment. Eight most important sectors that affect the operation of galenosphere were identified. Some of them (the culture of language, noise elimination, creating an environment promoting silence and a prayer for silence) contribute to the emergence of a structured environment of silence, whereas others (positive attitude towards calming down, concentration of the mind and emotions, inner concentration and the ability to be silent) constitute components which directly participate in the formation of an environment of silence. A structured environment of silence is the most effective in operation. The paper points out various advantages offered to the human being by a structured galenosphere. The most significant ones include: successful self-improvement, improvement of spoken and written language skills, effective pedagogic activities, establishing good relationships with other people and getting a deeper insight into the sense of life. The discussion leads to the conclusion that the human being should be provided with optimal working conditions and conditions for development in various areas by the formation of a structured galenosphere (in the family, at school, in the office, etc.).

    The aim of the article is an attempt of presentation the relation between intergenerational justice and the idea of sustainable development. Definitions which are related to Brundtland Report explain sustainable development as development that satisfies needs of present generations without depriving the needs of future generations. So it is clearly defined there is no mean of a short time satisfaction, but rather of a wider context – just distribution of goods and obligations (natural and financial) between generations. Thus the political decisions should concern present problems in such a way that would guaranty material as well as social foundations for further development.

    The article discusses the issues of values and social responsibility of universities. On the one hand, the foundations of functioning of universities, which are created by research and education and the role of universities in formation, are recalled.  On the other hand, it was reminded that the heart of universities, their DNA, are academic values, defined primarily in the Magna Charta Universitatum, but also in many other documents, such as the Code of Values of the Jagiellonian University. Hence, universities are increasingly often referred to not only as universities of knowledge, but also as universities of wisdom. Together, they are the basis for the social responsibility of universities.  However, they alone are not enough for this social responsibility to materialise.  Appropriate behaviour and actions are essential.  Because knowledge alone is not everything.  Such actions are always necessary, but especially when we find ourselves, as a country, humanity and a planet, in a crisis situation related to the climate disaster, which we are already partially experiencing. After the presentation of the most important current facts related to the climate and environmental crisis, the tasks to be undertaken urgently in this context by universities were presented, from broadly understood education, through convincing politicians to ambitious and quick actions, to intensive work on innovative solutions that can contribute to reducing threats brought by the climate and environmental crisis, pointing out, among others, the initiatives proposed by the newly created network of universities U7.

    Rozwój zrównowaony to próba sformułowania programu integrujacego rónorodne płaszczyzny ludzkiego działania, oparta na refleksji moralnej odnoszacej sie do odpowiedzialnosci człowieka za przyrode. Integracja ta odnosi sie do płaszczyzn: moralnej, ekologicznej, technicznej, ekonomicznej, prawnej, społecznej i politycznej. W artykule przedstawiono charakterystyki poszczególnych płaszczyzn. Omówiono take kwestie wzajemnego ich przenikania. Współczesnych problemów srodowiskowych nie da sie ju bowiem rozstrzygnac jedynie srodkami technicznymi, z ominieciem kwestii ekonomicznych, czy ekologicznych. Podkreslic trzeba take znaczenie kwestii społecznych i moralnych. Czyste srodowisko jest wane, jednak w przypadku gdy osiagnieto je za cene wysokiego bezrobocia, lub stworzenia innego rodzaju silnych konfliktów społecznych, nie bedzie to działanie zgodne z zasada zrównowaonego rozwoju.
    Sustainable development is an attempt at formulating a program which would integrate the different dimensions of human activity on the basis of a moral reflection as to human responsibility for nature. This integration is connected with moral, ecological, technical, economic, legal, social and political dimensions. The article presents profiles of all these dimensions, as well as matters of the mutual interactions between them. Modern environmental problems cannot be solved with the help of technological means only, avoiding social and moral issues. A clean environment is important, but if it is achieved in return for high unemployment, or by creating other strong social conflicts, it will not be consistent with the idea of sustainable development.

    The sustainable development concept anticipates major civilisational change on the ecological, social and economic levels. The tremendous scope of these changes makes it reasonable to expect this new vision for development to achieve the status of a “Revolution” comparable with those known from the past: the agricultural, scientific and industrial revolutions. In this paper I seek to expand the discussion on sustainable development, so as to include ethical, technical/technological, legal and political aspects. I am convinced that a hierarchal relationship exists between these issues, albeit with the moral dimension being of greatest importance, since without it the Sustainable Development Revolution may not take place at all.
    W ramach koncepcji rozwoju zrównoważonego postuluje się istotne zmiany cywilizacyjne na poziomie kwestii ekologicznych, społecznych i ekonomicznych. Ogromny zakres tych zmian uprawnia do sformułowania postulatu głoszącego, że ta nowa wizja rozwoju może osiągnąć status rewolucji, porównywalnej do tradycyjnie wymienianych w dziejach ludzkości rewolucji rolniczej, naukowej, czy przemysłowej. W tej pracy proponuję rozszerzenie podstawowej dyskusji o rozwoju zrównoważonym o aspekty etyczne, techniczne, prawne i polityczne a także hierarchizację poszczególnych grup problematycznych. Za podstawową wobec pozostałych uznaję przy tym problematykę moralną, bez której rewolucja rozwoju zrównoważonego nie będzie miała szansy powodzenia.

    W artykule poruszono problem oddziaływania przedsięwzięć marketingowych na etyczny wymiar przedsiębiorstwa na przykładzie Telekomunikacji Polskiej SA. Przedstawiono prawne podstawy działania przedsiębiorstwa, określono jego misję, cele oraz przedmiot działalności. Analizę makrootoczenia firmy uwzględniającą elementy otoczenia prawnego, politycznego i międzynarodowego uzupełniono o ocenę atrakcyjności sektora usług telekomunikacyjnych.
    In the article the author handles a very important problem of the marketing and ethical assessment of an enterprise on the example of the selected telecommunication company, i.e. Telekomunikacja Polska S.A. The Company was privatised and established in the result of the division of the state owned enterprise Poczta Polska Telegraf i Telefon (Polish Mail, Cable and Telephone Company). The marketing and ethical analysis carried out on the example of this company defines the main positive and negative influences of the environment upon the company and the strong points, that can be used in developing the company strategy. The author stresses also that the principles of honest and sound competition should be based on ethical values applying to all people. This is not easy due to cultural, religious or mental differences. On the other hand, the learned dissertations not based on practical experiences bring the risk of creating abstract principles.

    Artykuł prezentuje problem tolerancji nauczycieli akademickich jako normy cywilizacyjnej, regulatora relacji między wszystkimi podmiotami procesu edukacyjnego, co pozwala zachować różnorodność złożonego systemu, jakim jest środowisko międzykulturowe uczelni. Przedstawiono w nim wyniki badań diagnostycznych dotyczących tworzenia różnych elementów kompetencji społeczno-kulturowych nauczycieli i studentów. Ponadto zwrócono uwagę na tzw. algorytm rozwoju tolerancji nauczyciela akademickiego w warunkach nowoczesnego uniwersytetu jako osobowo-ideologicznej podstawy jego działalności i elementu kultury organizacyjnej.
    The article deals with the problem of the pedagogical tolerance of university teachers as a civilization norm, the regulator of relations between all subjects of the educational process, which allows maintaining the diversity of a complex system, which is the intercultural space of the university. The results of the diagnostics of the formation of various components of socio-cultural competence of teachers and students are presented. The analysis and correlation links of the obtained results are presented. The algorithm of teacher’s tolerance development in the conditions of a modern university as a personality-ideological basis of his/ her activity, an element of organizational culture is presented.

    The changes in the global economic and political system in the 20th century and the cessation of some and the emergence of new economic, ecological and social crises have resulted in a return to the concept of the doctrine of the social responsibility of the organisation. The change in the classical priorities of the economy for ones of corporate social responsibility included issues of natural and social environments. The environments are the hosts for organisations that produce and distribute wealth and services. The revival of the corporate social responsibility trend in the 21st century appeared due to international social organisations, which recognised the prosperity of semi-peripheral and peripheral societies as important to follow the well-being of the core countries. According to the doctrine of corporate social responsibility, it is possible to restore the economy of basic ethical values and human rights. The model of corporate social responsibility was proposed by Richard E. Smith. In turn, Milton Friedman talks about the responsibility of profit. However, sustainable development requires the perception of different management solutions. The organisations have their headquarters mainly in cities. And the city is also an organisation. In this context, a thesis was made: the city as a business centre is an organisation aspiring to be competitive on the global market; the city is a managed organisation to ensure the well-being of its inhabitants; the city is obliged to adopt a socially responsible attitude. Therefore, social responsibility of the city required a general definition. Such a definition was proposed in this paper. Individual sections provide the theoretical justification for specific practices and the understanding of the importance of key terms and concepts, as well as the need for further research on the model of cities social responsibility. The issues of ethics, creation and distribution of wealth, cooperation with stakeholders and sustainable development are the basis of cities social responsibility.
