    The 1050th Anniversary of the Baptism of Poland became for the faithful a remembrance of their roots as well as their Christian identity. At the same time the anniversary itself became a source of inspirations for the organisation of the program of liturgical and social celebrations in many places of our homeland. An exceptional example of such celebrations was arranged by the Archdiocese of Łódź with its five statio, when the Mystery of Baptism permeated thematically every celebration; each one was dedicated to a specified topic: in Łask – the cult of Mother of God, in Łódź – the Eucharist, in Piotrków Trybunalski – the Decalogue in light of the Law, in Tomaszów Mazowiecki – caritas and the care for the poor, in Konstantynów Łódzki – the martyrologium.

    Posoborowy zwrot ku duchowości chrzcielnej wyraża się między innymi w dowartościowaniu w różnych okolicznościach obrzędu odnowienia przyrzeczeń chrzcielnych. W pierwszych wiekach sama obecność katechumenów podczas pierwszej części liturgii niedzielnej oraz ryt ich odesłania przypominały o centralnej roli przymierza chrztu w życiu chrześcijanina. Nawiązywał do tego dawny podział na mszę katechumenów i mszę wiernych. Dziś Kościół nawiązuje do chrztu w niedzielnej aspersji. W cyklu roku liturgicznego okres przygotowania paschalnego (Wielkiego Postu) stwarza paralelną ścieżkę formacji katechumenów i towarzyszących im wiernych Kościoła. Podczas Wigilii Paschalnej, stanowiącej centrum roku liturgicznego i podstawowy termin chrztu katechumenów, cały Kościół odnawia przyrzeczenia chrzcielne. Rodzice i chrzestni odnawiają je także przy chrzcie dzieci, a młodzież – przy przyjmowaniu bierzmowania. Także udzielanie Wiatyku powinno być poprzedzone odnowieniem wyznania wiary. Odnowienie przyrzeczeń chrztu świętego przewiduje rytuał podczas sprawowania ezgorcyzmów większych. Typiczne wydania posoborowych ksiąg liturgicznych podają tekst zadawanych pytań i sugerując odpowiedzi w singularis wskazują na personalistyczny wymiar odnowienia przyrzeczeń chrzcielnych. Odnawianie przyrzeczeń chrzcielnych stanowi element permanentnej mistagogii sakramentu chrztu.
    The postconciliar turn towards baptismal spirituality is visible in appreciation of the renewal ritual of baptismal promises. In the early centuries of Christianity the very presence of catechumens during the first part of Sunday liturgy and the rite of sending them away reminded the congregation of the central role of the baptismal covenant in the life of Christians. The old division into the Mass of Catechumens and Mass of the Faithful was a reflection of that. Today the Church makes a reference to Baptism in the Sunday aspersion. In the liturgical year cycle the period of paschal preparation (Lent) creates a parallel formation path for catechumens and the Christian faithful who accompany them. During the Easter Vigil, which constitutes the pivotal point of the liturgical year and the principal time for catechumens to get baptised, the whole Church renews baptismal promises. Parents and godparents renew them when children are baptised, while the youth do during Confirmation. Also the administration of Viaticum should be preceded by a renewal of the profession of faith. The renewal of baptismal promises is envisaged by a ritual celebrated during major exorcisms. The typical editions of postconciliar liturgical books provide the text of questions and suggest answers in the singular form, which implies a personalistic dimension of the renewal. It is an element of the permanent mystagogy of the Sacrament of Baptism.

    Opis:
    The article deals with the works carried out on the reformation and renewal of Confirmation sacrament, Ordo Confirmationis, promulgated in 1971. The reform of the book was postulated in votes and suggestions by bishops, Roman Congregations and catholic universities and presented to the Holy See before the Council. Editorial works on Ordo Confirmationis were carried out by Consilium ad exsequendam Constitutionem de Sacra Liturgia and a special work team appointed especially for this task, namely, Coetus a Studiis XX, which consisted of experts on Confirmation liturgy history, theology and legal issues. The team prepared successive schemes of De Confirmatione, which were then discussed and consulted with the members of relevant Congregations and submitted to Pope Paul VI for assessment. Ordo Confirmationis is mainly the work of Coetus a Studiis XX, whereas Praenotanda were prepared by The Congregation for Divine Worship in cooperation with other discasteria of the Holy See. The final version of Ordo Confirmationis was preceded by a special Apostolic Constitution, Divinae consortiun naturae, in which the Pope approved of the rites and defined a significant sacramental sign of Confirmation (substance and formula). Since then, Confirmation is usually bestowed during the Holy Mass and, in other cases, it is always combined with the Liturgy of the Word.
