Opis:
The work presents an application of two scanning optical techniques, i.e. optical profilometry and angle resolved scattering method. The first method measures the light reflected from a film during scan of the surface, while the second method measures light intensity as a function of the scattering angle. The angle resolved scattering and optical profilometry measurements, being complementary to the atomic force microscopy, give information about surface topography. Scattered radiation measured by angle resolved scattering and optical profilometry is a function of height and slope of microfacets. The analysis of images allows to determine the most important statistic surface parameters, like roughness, height distribution and autocorrelation length, in large wavelength range by the determination of power spectral density function. The fast Fourier transform of angle resolved scattering and optical profilometry images permits to determine the distribution of surface features in the inverse space, such as periodicity and anisotropy. In this paper the results obtained for porous SiO₂, SiO₂-TiO₂ blends, TiN and polymer thin films have been presented. The paper demonstrates the usefulness of the angle resolved scattering and optical profilometry for the surface and volume thin film inspection.

Opis:
The time passed in the urgency zone of a hospital is really important, and the quick evaluation and selection of the patients who arrive to this area is essential to avoid waste of time and help the patients in a higher emergency level. The triage, an evaluation and classification structured system, allows to manage the urgency level of the patient; it is based on the vital signs measures and clinical data of the patient. The goal is making the classification in the shortest possible time and with a minimal error percentage. Levels are allocated according to the concept that what is urgent is not always serious and that what is serious is not always urgent. In this work, we present a computational algorithm that evaluates the patients within the fever symptomatic category, we use fuzzy logic and decision trees to collect and analyze simultaneously the vital signs and the clinical data of the patient through a graphical interface; so that the classification can be more intuitive and faster. Fuzzy logic allows us to process data and take a decision based on incomplete information or uncertain values, decision trees are structures or rules sets that classify the data when we have several variables.

Opis:
The aim of the study was to evaluate the effect of HPS and LED assimilation lighting and LED interlighting on the yielding and as cucumber fruit quality in autumn cultivation cycle. The possibilities of increasing the density of plants due to the use of LED technology were also assessed. The study was conducted in three compartments: I with HPS top light only; II with top light HPS + 2 line LED interlight, III with 100% LED, top LED + 2 line LED interlight. Light level was in every compartment kept at the level of ~320 µmol m–2 s–1. PAR. The number and weight of cucumber fruits were investigated. The harvest was carried out every day. To assess the harvest quality for the plants grown in the two terms fruits were then examined for the chemical quality attributes of cucumber fruit, such as the content of total soluble solids (TSS), total sugars (TS), ascorbic acid and nitrate (NO3) P, K and Ca. Another part of fruits was subjected to sensory analysis performed with the scaling method. The cucumber grown in the autumn growing cycle gave higher yield and the quality of fruits produced appeared more balanced for the plants lighted with HPS+LED or 100% LED as compared to the traditional, overhead HPS lighting. The above, together with the results from the rate of buds’ abortion assessment seem to legitimate the increase in the cucumber crop density when applying LED lighting.
