Rzepak w ostatnim okresie stał się najważniejszą rośliną przemysłową uprawianą w Polsce. Jest on głównym surowcem przemysłu tłuszczowego. Jego produkcja wykazuje stałe tendencje wzrostowe. Głównym czynnikiem stymulującym wzrost produkcji rzepaku jest stosunkowo wysoka opłacalność jego produkcji, znacznie wyższa aniżeli uprawy pszenicy. Wzrost produkcji rzepaku wiąże się z rozwojem przemysłu tłuszczowego i wzrostem produkcji tłuszczów. Rośnie też konsumpcja tłuszczów roślinnych, które w coraz większym stopniu zastępują tłuszcze zwierzęce. Ponadto, rośnie zapotrzebowanie na biopaliwa, do których produkcji bardzo dobrym surowcem są nasiona rzepaku.
The oilseed rape is the most important industrial plant growing in Poland. Its produce has dynamically been increasing for years. The reason for the growing interest offarmers in cultivating oilseed rape is mainly its price, which is more profitable than the price of wheat. Purthermore, the similarity in the technology of growing of oilseed rape and wheat is an important factor in stimulating the interest. In addition, the demandfor oilseed rape is high, which creates favorable conditions for increasing the growing oilseed rape. This is also due to increasing consumption of the plant oils, as well as the growing demand for bio-components used in producing liquid fuels. - Źródło:
