Opis:
The article focuses on the changes in the field of higher education which have occurred during the period of systemic transformation in Poland; particularly on the influence of the regulations introduced in 2011. Following Cris Shore and Susan Wright the author argues that reforms are not only routine, bureaucratic practices but they have a profound impact on social life. In the light of this claim she suggests that the new law not only enforced structural adjustments in the academia but also triggered the process of reshaping the idea of university itself. This shift can be explained in terms of neoliberalisation (in the Foucauldian sense), as the process of transforming academia into the institution driven and dominated by the discourses of efficiency. In order to achieve that goal various tools developed for measuring academic and teaching performance, assessing research quality and institutional effectiveness were introduced. The author pays particular attention to practices of auditing, also defined as ‘rituals of verification’, which play a significant role in the process of producing accountable, selfdisciplined and calculative neoliberal subjects.

Opis:
The aim of the article is to present how autoethnography, understood as a technique of obtaining data in the process of ethnographic research, contributes to the development of theoretical and methodological reflection in anthropology. The author argues that this practice provides rich material that makes it possible to reflect on the relationship between the situation of the researcher and the type of knowledge created. Autoethnography also makes it possible to grasp events, and thus those moments thanks to which scraps of ideas, thoughts, or theoretical concepts begin to combine with each other to create a compact and organized narrative, and ethnographic research acquires cohesiveness. The author simultaneously emphasizes the important role of emotion. She indicates that the existence of particularly intense experiences on the part of both the researcher and the persons studied should be seen not only in the psychological perspective but as a reaction to the breaking or undermining of the prevailing principle—a response to non-standard behavior, which does not fit into the established order. The reflections presented in the article are illustrated with examples from field work which was conducted in a production facility located in one of the Special Economic Zones in the voivodeship of Lower Silesia.

Opis:
The article focuses on selected aspects of transnational entrepreneurship, understood in terms of actions that go beyond national borders and lead to long-lasting innovations in sociotechnical spaces. These considerations rest on the ethnographic research conducted in years 2013–2016 in a globally oriented company situated in south-western Poland. While exploring the issue, the author moves between diff erent scales of analysis: from the macro-level of the postsocialist state, through the global infrastructure of neoliberal politics, to the specific working environment and the regional context. The adopted strategy of shifting perspectives is applied in order to point to the larger political, historical and economic contexts in which specific places are embedded and which influence the trajectories of lives of employees of global enterprises.

Opis:
In this article, the authors argue that critical anthropology must inevitably recognize its intrinsic aporia, which can be illustrated by the “blind spot” metaphor. They use the metaphor to point to a cognitive bias that can be described as the tendency to claim one’s own epistemological objectivity and axiological neutrality while ignoring the fact of being entangled in the object of anthropological critique. To illustrate the blind-spot effect they refer to the visible neoliberalization of Polish academia in the last decade. Their aim is to show how critical anthropologists (re)produce the entrepreneurial regimes, power relations, and mechanisms of subjugation that they critique. For the sake of their argument they use theories drawn from studies on governmentality, namely affect theory and the idea of the dispositive.
