Opis:
The vein-type Cu-Mo-Au mineralisation in Qarachilar, the Sungun porphyry Cu deposit (PCD) and the Siah Kamar porphyry Mo deposit (PMD) are all located at the northwestern end of the Neo Tethys-related Urumieh-Dokhtar volcano-plutonic belt of Iran. Re contents of moIybdenite samples from the Qarachilar, Sungun and Siah Kamar deposits are about 112.67-462 ppm, 53.24-252.29 ppm, and 10.44-41.05 ppm, respectively. Re contents of the first two deposits fall in the range of PCDs, while those of the latter are lower and correspond to PMDs. The relatively high Re content of the Qarachilar and Sungun molybdenites can be explained considering the low abundance of molybdenite, a mantle-dominated source for ore materials and the incorporation of oxidized and acidic hydrothermal fluids with high fCl. The high abundance of molybdenite in the Siah Kamar PMD has resulted in volume dilution of Re. Furthermore, occurrence of the main ore within the potassic alteration zone and, hence, the alkaline nature of the responsible fluids in this zone have also affected the Re content of molybdenites. Variations of the Re content in different veins/veinlets showed a negative relationship with the formation temperature of these veins, and a positive/negative relationship with the acidity/alkalinity of the hydrothermal fluids, while the grain size of molybdenites showed a positive relationship.

Opis:
The COVID-19 pandemic has influenced virtually all aspects of our lives. Across the world, countries have applied various mitigation strategies, based on social, political, and technological instruments. We postulate that multi-agent systems can provide a common platform to study (and balance) their essential properties. We also show how to obtain a comprehensive list of the properties by “distilling” them from media snippets. Finally, we present a preliminary take on their formal specification, using ideas from multi-agent logics.

Opis:
Tobacco use is a leading cause of preventable mortality worldwide. New cost-effective smoking cessation treatments are needed especially in some low-to-middle income countries where smoking rates are rising, and current pharmacotherapy treatments remain cost-prohibitive. Since the 1960’s, cytisine has been used as an effective nicotine substitution agent to aid in smoking cessation albeit limited to a selected few Eastern/Central Europe and Central Asian countries. Cytisine is a biologically active alkaloid of plant origin and is known to be a ligand of nicotinic acetylcholinergic receptors (nAChRs). For several decades, the properties of cytisine have been investigated and reported in the biomedical and pharmaceutical literature. Due to the beneficial impact of cytisine on smoking cessation and its costly multistep synthesis, there is a growing interest in extraction from natural sources as well as in analytical identification and quantification for clinical medicine and forensic toxicology. In this paper, we present several current analytical approaches to cytisine extraction and identification from biological samples of plant and human origin. The development of extraction techniques will allow for the widespread use of the drug in experimental and clinical pharmacology, toxicology and forensic medicine.
