    Opis:
    The paper deals with the original methodics of the computation of the energy-saving traffic of tram vehicles with the modern field-oriented control of traction three-phase induction squirrel-cage motors. Possibility of occurrence of various traffic perturbations is here taken into account. After ending disturbances of the city traffic, algorithms of tram rides take into account the procedure of traffic-delay liquidation in accordance with the criterion of the minimum energy use. During the vehicle running with the constant speed, the load of traction induction motors is relatively small; in this case the proper choice of the lower supply voltage enables to increase the motor efficiency. At large time lags in traffic of tram vehicles, ride delays must be liquidated during the run between some succeeding stops within the framework of the optimization procedure.

    Opis:
    Computing with words is a way to artificial, human-like thinking. The paper shows some new possibilities of solving difficult problems of computing with words which are offered by relative-distance-measure RDM models of fuzzy membership functions. Such models are based on RDM interval arithmetic. The way of calculation with words was shown using a specific problem of flight delay formulated by Lotfi Zadeh. The problem seems easy at first sight, but according to the authors’ knowledge it has not been solved yet. Results produced with the achieved solution were tested. The investigations also showed that computing with words sometimes offers possibilities of achieving better problem solutions than with the human mind.

    Opis:
    The paper presents difficulties connected with fuzzy and interval division. If operations such as fuzzy addition, subtraction and multiplication provide as a result one compact, multidimensional granule, then a result of the fuzzy division can consists of few separated granules. Such results are more difficult to use in next calculations. The paper shows that the number of solution granules can be higher than 2 and that in certain problems division does not occur explicitly. In certain problems, separation of particular solution granules can be considerable. The paper also shows how to realize the fuzzy division when its denominator contains zero. Most types of fuzzy arithmetics forbid such operation. However, the paper shows that it is possible. Multidimensional fuzzy RDM arithmetic and horizontal membership functions which facilitate detecting of solution granules are also described. The considered problems are visualized by examples.

    Opis:
    The formulation and algorithmic aspects of nonlinear thermo-elasticity are reviewed in the paper. The attention is focused on coupling due to thermal expansion and temperature dependence of elastic model parameters, and on the consistent linearization of the ensuing nonlinear set of equations for two-field finite elements. Non-stationary heat flow, static loading and small strains are assumed. The solutions of some benchmark examples, obtained using the developed finite element environment FEMDK, are presented. The formulation has a more general application domain in the context of arbitrary coupling of a nonstationary diffusion proces and momentum balance.
    W artykule przedstawiono sformułowanie i aspekty algorytmizacji dla nieliniowych problemów termosprężystości. Skupiono się na problemie sprzężenia wynikającego z rozszerzalności cieplnej oraz zależności parametrów materiałowych od temperatury. Przeprowadzono konsystentną linearyzację nieliniowego układu równań opisującego rozpatrywany problem i zaproponowano dwupolowy element skończony. Rozważania dotyczą niestacjonarnego przepływu ciepła przy założeniu statycznego charakteru obciążeń mechanicznych oraz małych odkształceń. Przedstawiono rozwiązania wybranych żądań benchmarkowych. Obliczenia wykonano przy użyciu rozwijanego środowiska obliczeniowego FEMDK, opartego na metodzie elementów skończonych. Zaprezentowane sformułowanie może mięć bardziej ogólne zastosowanie dla dowolnego przypadku sprzężenia niestacjonarnego procesu dyfuzji z problemami opisywanymi przez równania bilansu pędu.

    Two Chlamydomonas reinhardtii CW15 populations modified by an excess of copper in growth medium were obtained: a “Cu” population that was continuously grown under the selection pressure of 5 μM Cu²⁺ (for at least 48 weeks) and the “Re” population, where a relatively short (9 week) exposure to elevated copper, necessary for acquiring tolerance, was followed by a prolonged period (at least 39 weeks) of cultivation at a normal (0.25 μM) copper concentration. Cells of the Cu population were able to multiply at a Cu²⁺ concentration 16 times higher than that of the control population at a normal light intensity and at a Cu²⁺ concentration 64 times higher when cultivated in dim light. The potential quantum yield of photosystem II (FV/FM ratio) under copper stress was also significantly higher for the Cu population than for Re and control populations. The Re population showed only residual tolerance towards the elevated concentration of copper, which is revealed by an FV/FM ratio slightly higher than in the control population under Cu²⁺ stress in dim light or in darkness. We postulate that in the Chlamydomonas populations studied in this paper, at least two mechanisms of copper tolerance operate. The first mechanism is maintained during cultivation at a standard copper concentration and seems to be connected with photosynthetic apparatus. This mechanism, however, has only low adaptive value under excess of copper. The other mechanism, with a much higher adaptive value, is probably connected with Cu²⁺ homeostasis at the cellular level, but is lost during cultivation at a normal copper concentration.

    The results of calculations using local density approximation and generalized gradient approximation: the total energy depending on the volume of the unit cell, the distribution of the total density of states and the partial contributions of electronic orbitals in the band structure of Tl4CdI6 and Tl4HgI6 crystals are shown in this paper. The spectra of the real part of the dielectric permittivity, the spectra of the imaginary part of permittivity, the reflection spectra and the absorption coefficient of both crystals are obtained using the Kramers–Kronig method. A comparative analysis of theoretical calculations with experimental data is carried out. Substantial influence of electron–phonon broadening is shown.

    Opis:
    The studies of the photoinduced second harmonic generation were performed for the Ag-loaded poriferous TiO2 microtablets deposited on an ITO substrate. The poriferous TiO2 microtablets on a pre-cleaned ITO substrate (Kaivo, China, sheet resistance of ca. 10 Ω/square) were prepared by simply immersing the ITO substrate vertically into the growth solution that contains 5 ml of 0.5 M (NH4)2TiF6 (Sigma-Aldrich) and 5 ml of 1.0 M H3BO3 (R.M. Chemicals) for 15 h at room temperature. The samples were obtained from the growth solution with concentration of 0.4, 0.5 and 0.6 M. We have found that maximal second harmonic generation signal was achieved for the samples with concentration 0.5 M.
