Artykuł przedstawia Rousseau i Kanta wizje historii w perspektywie zależności tej drugiej od pierwszej. Przede wszystkim skupia się na ukazaniu ich wewnętrznych trudności  i wewnętrznych napięć, zdecydowanie więcej miejsca poświęcając filozofii historii Kanta. Koncepcję tę ujmuje jako zwieńczenie teleologicznej struktury rozumu ludzkiego, nadając jej status praktyczno-moralnej fikcji i odrzucając jej wykładnię teoretyczno-naturalistyczną. Następnie analizowane są trudności odnoszące się do wykładni moralnej. Analiza ta prowadzi do tezy, że właśnie pod ich ciężarem moralnie rozumiana historiozofia Kanta faktycznie załamuje się, nie będąc w stanie znieść nieusuwalnego napięcia między porządkami moralnym i legalnym historii i ostatecznie kryjącego się za nim napięcia między jednostką i historią; tkwiło ono więc w samych moralnych podstawach tej ostatniej.
The article presents Rousseau’s and Kant’s vision of history from the perspective of dependence of the latter on the former. It concentrates above all on presentation of their difficulties and internal tensions, but pays more attention to Kant’s conception of history. The article views this conception as the culmination of the theological structure of human reason, giving it the status of moral-practical fiction and rejecting a theoretical-naturalistic interpretation of it. Subsequently, it analyses difficulties connected with the moral interpretation. The analysis leads to the thesis that it is precisely under their weight that Kant’s moral historiosophy collapses, because it is not able to bear the unerasable tension between the moral and legal orders of history, and, ultimately, the underlying tension between the individual and history. This tension was embedded in the moral foundations of the latter.

This article is dedicated to a philosophical interpretation of Dostoevsky’s Notes from the Underground. In contrast to the existential interpretation proposed by Shestov (in Philosophy of tragedy) the author defends the thesis that Dostoevsky’s novel has to be interpreted from the perspective of modernity, and the tragedy of his hero, the underground man, has to be interpreted in categories of alienation and inauthentic existence. From that perspective the divide between normal life and underground life expresses the fundamental contradiction of the modern world. The author indicates the proximity between Dostoevsky’s and Kierkegaard’s and Nietzsche’s analyses of modernity. He then shows that Dostoevsky contrasts the arbitrariness of the underground man to a deterministic, scientistic vision of the world and makes it an important premise of his understanding of an authentic existence based on freedom and faith.

L'article analyse l'interprétation deconstructive de la pensée de F. Nietzsche, qui a été presentée par Sarah Kofman sous l'influence de Jacques Derrida et à la base de sa critique de la tradition logocentrique. Kofman discerne deux périodes dans l'evolution de la philosophie de Nietzsche. Dans la premier Nietzsche part de la notion de la métaphore, qui detruit la possibilité du langage rationelle et objectif, mais qui se rapport symboliquement à l'essence dionysiaque du monde. Dans la seconde Nietzsche développe la notion de l'interprétation: la volonté de puissance n'est que l'interprétation, "la hypothèse interprétative" qui fonde la possibilité de l'interprétation en général. À la fin de l'article j'analyse les difficultés concernant l'interprétation presentée par Kofman.

Celem artykułu jest skonfrontowanie postmodernizmu rozumianego jako doktryna filozoficzna, czy, szerzej, pewien typ świadomości kulturowej z ponowoczesnością jako epoką stanowiącą wyraz przemian późnego kapitalizmu. Związki między postmodernizmem I ponowoczesnością analizowane są w perspektywie filozoficzno-socjologicznej poprzez porównanie diagnoz ponowoczesnych przemian przedstawionych przez przedstawicieli postmodernizmu i diagnoz przedstawionych przez socjologów ponowoczesności. W pierwszej części omawiam znaczenie technologii cyfrowych, w których postmoderniści pokładali nadzieję na wyzwolenie potencjału ludzkiej kreatywności, w drugim ponowoczesne procesy indywidualizacji związane z ideą samorealizacji. W konkluzji dochodzę do przekonania, że ponowoczesność sprzeniewierzyła się głoszonym przez postmodernizm ideom wolności, kreatywności, samorealizacji, solidarności.  W konkluzji wyrażam przekonanie, że ponowoczesność sprzeniewierzyła się ideom wolności, kreatywności, samorealizacji, solidarności głoszonym przez postmodernistów, które zgodnie z ich nadzieją miała ona urzeczywistnić. 
The aim of the article is to confront postmodernism understood as a philosophical doctrine, or, more broadly, a certain type of cultural awareness with postmodernity as an epoch expressing the changes of late capitalism. The relationships between postmodernism and postmodernity are analysed from a philosophical and sociological perspective by comparing the diagnoses of postmodern changes presented by sociologists and the diagnoses presented by representatives of postmodernism. In the first part, I discuss the importance of digital technologies, in which postmodernists hoped to unleash the potential of human creativity, and in the second, the postmodern processes of individualization related to the idea of self-realisation. Finally, I reach the conclusion that postmodernity has betrayed the ideas of freedom, creativity, self-realisation and solidarity proclaimed by postmodernists which, according to their hopes, postmodernity was supposed to realise.

Tekst jest polemiką z polemiczno-krytycznymi uwagami Michała Kruszelnickiego do mojej książki pt. Jednostka, zło, historia w myśli Rousseau (Łódź 2022). Dotyczy on kluczowych kwestii i problemów myśli Rousseau, od dawna nękających umysły komentatorów jego dzieła. W swojej dyskusji z Polemistą podtrzymuję główne tezy i rozwiązania interpretacyjne przedstawione w książce, wychodząc z odmiennego widzenia dzieła Rousseau, to znaczy podkreślając jego ewolucję i odrzucając koncyliacyjno-humanistyczną, choć nie zawsze konsekwentną, wykładnię Polemisty, który na ogół usiłuje pogodzić większość wątków myśli Rousseau. Niemniej jednak jego zasadne, ciekawe i niekonwencjonalne a czasami, jak sądzę, nieco prowokacyjne uwagi zmusiły mnie do ponownego podjęcia wysiłku koncepcyjno-interpretacyjnego i, w rezultacie, do rozwinięcia i pogłębienia argumentacji i analiz zawartych w książce, nie zawsze jasnych i mogących rodzić niezrozumienie. Rozwijam więc przede wszystkim rozumienie związku między logiką eksperymentalną i logiką systemową, pokazując ich wspólną, dopełniającą się dynamikę, bronię tezy o porażce dzieła Rousseau usiłującego dokonać syntezy wspólnotowej i indywidualistycznej perspektywy swej myśli, by pokazać porzucenie tych usiłowań w samotniczo-kontemplacyjnych Przechadzkach samotnego marzyciela, i wreszcie uwydatniam argumentacyjnie autorytarne implikacje pomysłów politycznych i pedagogicznych Rousseau.
The text is a polemic against the polemical-critical remarks by Michał Kruszelnicki to my book entitled Individual, evil, history in Rousseau’s thought (Łódź 2022). It deals with key issues and problems in Rousseau’s thought that have long plagued the minds of commentators on his work. In my discussion with the Polemist, I maintain the main theses and interpretative solutions presented in the book, starting from a different view of Rousseau’s work, that is, emphasising its evolution and rejecting the Polemist’s conciliatory-humanist, though not always consistent, interpretation, which generally attempts to reconcile most of the strands of Rousseau’s thought. Nevertheless, his legitimate, interesting and unconventional and sometimes, I think, somewhat provocative remarks have forced me to renew my conceptual and interpretative efforts and, as a result, to develop and deepen the arguments and analyses in the book, which are not always clear and may give rise to misunderstanding. Thus, in particular, I develop my understanding of the relationship between experimental logic and systemic logic, showing their common complementary dynamics, defend the thesis of the failure of Rousseau’s work attempting to synthesise the communitarian and individualist perspectives of his thought to show the abandonment of these attempts in the solitary-contemplative Strolls of a Lonely Dreamer, and, finally, highlight argumentatively the authoritarian implications of Rousseau’s political and pedagogical ideas.

The aim of this paper is to present the idea of violence in Nietzsche’s work, seen as a basic principle that organizes and unites different elements of his philosophy. Violence is one of its crucial categories, which he exploits in his descriptions and analyses of metaphysical, historical and social-cultural reality. In what follows, I shall examine different meanings and renditions of violence in Nietzsche, both in their negative as well as positive aspects. I shall start from an attempt to locate Nietzsche’s understanding of violence within the Western philosophical tradition. Then, I will discuss it in the light of the evolution of Nietzsche’s work. By analyzing the positive and constructive meaning of violence, I shall be able to conclude the essay by emphasizing that in Nietzsche’s political project violence acquires a spiritual and sublime nature.

Die ewige Wiederkehr gehört zu den meist unklaren Fragen in der Philosophie von Friedrich Nietzsche. Die Idee der ewigen Wiederkunft wird von mir als ein integraler Teil seiner Philosophie angesehen, da meines Erachtens ist das die grundsätzliche Kategorie, die das Ganze jener Philosophie begreifen laßt. Am Beispiel konkreter Interpretationen werden dann genannt und kritisch betrachtet drei Interpretationsweisen der Idee der ewigen Wiederkehr, die sich in der Geschichte der Rezeption der Philosophie Nietzsches finden lassen: die ewige Wiederkehr im stoischen Sinne als Wiederkehr der "identischen Fälle , die ewige Wiederkunft im ethischen Sinne als Postulat der Wirkung und die ewige Wiederkunft im dionysischen Sinne - als Prinzip und Charakteristik des Werdens. Ich spreche für die "dionysische" Interpretation aus, da sie mit den Voraussetzungen und mit der ursprünglichen Fassung der Philosophie von F. Nietzsche am meisten übereinstimmt.
