Homeland is the area of human vocation and moral responsibility. It is a gift and also a moral mission. Everyone is called to this, with all the zeal and determination to care for the good of the homeland and all her needs. But watching today's reality, it is easy to see that the new generation Poles in the context of increasing spiritual dispossession and lack of sensitivity to what means “Fatherland”, fatherland service, sacrifice for it. Therefore, the purpose of this reflection is to present a new richness and value of our fatherland above all, moral aspects and duties of patriotism. Patriotism, which is the normal realization of love of country, a task for each and everyone should pursue it as a wise, brave and responsible. It is extremely important in the situation of Polish entry into the EU. There can be no less love the Polish, if it is more Europe, because then Europe will be poorer by the good that is anchored in our own country – Poland. In order, therefore, have a lasting and significant position in Europe should continue to take the effort to discover the beauty and richness of our homeland. The need to strengthen and develop the spirit of healthy and genuine patriotism through fidelity to the heritage of homeland, and building, serving and promoting their own country with respect other nations. It should also lead constantly being improved from the earliest years, the process of raising children to honor, respect and love their country and friendship with other nations.

Ojczyzna jest dla człowieka terenem powołania i moralnej odpowiedzialności, jest darem i jednocześnie zadaniem moralnym. Ojczyzna bowiem umożliwia człowiekowi to wszystko, co jest niezbędne do ukształtowania własnej osobowości. W obecnej rzeczywistości potrzeba także właściwej formacji patriotycznej prowadzonej głownie w środowisku rodzinnym, szkolnym i kościelnym. Te wszystkie aspekty odpowiedzialności za ojczyznę można odnaleźć w nauczaniu moralnym ks. prof. Jerzego Bajdy.
A person’s homeland is the terrain of vocation and moral responsibility; it is a gift and at the same time a moral task. Each person is called to care for the welfare of the homeland and all its needs with eagerness and firmness. This is an incredibly important task in terms of the Polish presence in the European Union, in a united Europe. In this perspective it is an especially significant task nowadays to show once again the value of the motherland and the moral obligations associated with patriotism. The homeland provides all that is necessary for a person to shape his own personality. In the present circumstances there is a need for an appropriate patriotic formation to be conducted, especially in the family, school and church environment. All these aspects of responsibility for one’s country can be found in the moral teachings of Fr. Prof. Jerzy Bajda.

W niniejszej publikacji w świetle listów pasterskich i kazań Jerzego Ablewicza zostaną ukazane fundamentalne przejawy życia kultycznego, a mianowicie: modlitwa, świętowanie dnia Pańskiego i pielgrzymowanie. Wszystkie te akty kultu religijnego nadają właściwy kierunek i siłę całemu chrześcijańskiemu życiu człowieka. Wpływają one na kształtowanie właściwej postawy wobec Boga, bliźniego i otaczającego świata.
The virtue of piety plays a fundamental role in the shaping of Christian life. In the teachings of Jerzy Ablewicz, Bishop of Tarnow, it has been treated exceptionally extensively and in detail. The virtue of piety finds its fulfilment in all sorts of acts of worship. In the light of the pastoral letters and sermons of Jerzy Ablewicz, this article presents the fundamental manifestations of the divine life, namely: prayer, the celebration of the Lord’s day, and pilgrimage. All these acts of religious worship impart strength and the proper direction to the entire Christian life of man. They influence the shaping of a right attitude towards God, one’s neighbor and the surrounding world.

Faith is one of fundamental attitudes in man’s life. Thus, authentic faith cannot be separated in any way from man’s ethos understood as all his moral actions and attitudes. It cannot be isolated as well from an accepted hierarchy of moral values and one’s own vision as a man. Pope Francis’ encyclical Lumen fidei clearly speaks about the value of faith. For the pope faith is a personal meeting with God as Person. It gives the right meaning of human life and it determines a significant scale of values. On its deepest level, faith is an important element having an influence on the whole moral life. It transforms the hearts of men shaping the community of the Church and thus it becomes a school of true Christian moral life labelled with man’s attitudes and behaviour. Only such a faith, nurtured from childhood in the family can become the centre of man’s existence and can affect the life reaching a high moral level.

The contemporary world is challenged by poverty. A particular form of serving the poor is a „preferential option for the poor”, also known as the „preferential love for the poor”. This op-tion is developed on the basis of the Church’s social teaching on social solidarity and love which imitate Christ in His attitude toward the poor. The article presents the origin, nature, and ways of realizing the preferential love for the poor in the modern world and in the life of the Church. It starts with explaining the meaning of the word poor (poverty), then draws attention to the various manifestations of poverty in Poland and in the world. It also reflects on the moral responsibility for the current scale of poverty. The analyses embrace the teaching of Pope John Paul II. His words and the example of his life were an urgent appeal to all the people of good will to change the situation of the poor. The topic have been presented against the background of socio-economic sciences.

Man created in the image and likeness of God should be guided in life by the law of love. This love should be shown to every human person. Individuals with mental disabilities should also be engulfed by this caring love. This is a huge challenge and task especially for parents. On them rests the great responsibility for the process of development of these individuals, including responsibility for their Christian upbringing. Therefore, the aim of this article is to present the role of the family in the process of revalidation, rehabilitation and Christian formation of persons with mental disabilities.

Observing the transformations taking place in the world, it is important to note the need for continuous reference in various areas of human life to Mary, whose example is always relevant. Therefore, the purpose of this article is to present Mary as a model of faith and moral life for the contemporary disciples of Christ. Mary – with her example – teaches one how to be a disciple of Christ in an authentic way, not superficial one. She is an example of understanding the Christian life as a commitment. Looking to Mary as an example, the individual learns to obey God in the path of faith and finds the values that lead him or her through the paths of the Christian moral life. Life permeated with the Marian spirit becomes an inspiration for the contemporary disciples of Christ to grow in faith, to do good and radically reject everything which is in contrary to the Christian ideal.

The fundamental outlook for the concept of faith is determined by the truth about Christ – the Son of God who became a man. Faith is always a reference to the person of Christ and to His work of salvation. For Christians, Jesus Christ is the Revealer who reveals man to himself and shows him he meaning of his life. The figure of Jesus Christ makes it possible for the believers of all times to continue examining His infinite existential and moral depth.Therefore, the aim of this publication is to raise awareness of the need to indicate the consequences which induce the figure of Christ and His work of salvation in men. The point is the reference of the Christological reflection to our everyday life in attempt to answer the question of who Jesus Christ is to our faith. The following study is based on the encyclical Lumen fidei by the Pope Francis.
Zasadniczą perspektywę dla pojmowania wiary wyznacza prawda o Chrystusie – Synu Bożym, który stał się człowiekiem. Wiara jest zawsze odniesieniem do osoby Chrystusa i do Jego dzieła zbawienia. Dla chrześcijan Jezus Chrystus jest Objawicielem, który objawia człowieka samemu sobie i ukazuje mu sens jego życia. Postać Jezusa Chrystusa sprawia, że wierzący wszystkich czasów mogą wciąż doskonalej wnikać w Jego nieskończoną głębię egzystencjalną i moralną.Celem publikacji jest uświadomienie potrzeby wskazania konsekwencji, które wywołują w człowieku postać Chrystusa i Jego dzieło zbawienia. Chodzi zatem o odniesienie prowadzonej refleksji chrystologicznej do naszego życia, aby znaleźć odpowiedź na pytanie, kim jest Jezus Chrystus dla naszej wiary. Punktem odniesienia niniejszego studium jest encyklika Lumen fidei papieża Franciszka.

The virtue of honesty has a fundamental role in an educational process towards values. Honesty as a virtue is extremely important especially in the educational mission of a teacher. Therefore, the aim of this publication/article is to show the meaning of teacher`s honesty in the process of educating a student about values in the school environment. An honest teacher should accompany the student in discovering a way of life and help him to make good choices based on an objective hierarchy of values.

Opis:
Formation of an ecclesial community constitutes the basic moral call arising from reception of the sacrament of confi rmation. Formation of the person should also aim at accomplishing this objective. The Holy Spirit given in the sacrament of confi rmation plays a fundamental role in building the Church. Opening up to the gift of the Holy Spirit and submission to His direction allows to fi nd the proper place in the Church and accept full responsibility for destiny of the Church. The ecclesial role of the Holy Spirit in the sacrament of conformation sounds signifi cantly in the teaching of Benedict XVI. In his speeches and documents, the Pope repeatedly brought the truth about the special power of the Holy Spirit and His gifts into building the community dimension of the life of the Church. Therefore, in this refl ection – based on allocations of Pope Benedict XVI – the ecclesiological role of the Holy Spirit, coming in the sacrament of confi rmation, was presented.
Podstawowym wezwaniem moralnym wynikającym z przyjęcia sakramentu bierzmowania jest kształtowanie wspólnoty eklezjalnej. Ku temu celowi ma też zmierzać formacja człowieka. Fundamentalną rolę w budowaniu Kościoła odgrywa udzielany w sakramencie bierzmowania Duch Święty. Otwarcie się na dar Ducha Świętego i poddanie się Jego kierownictwu pozwala na odnalezienie właściwego miejsca w Kościele i przyjęcie pełnej odpowiedzialności za jego losy.Eklezjotwórcza rola Ducha Świętego w sakramencie bierzmowania mocno wybrzmiewa w nauczaniu Benedykta XVI. W swoich przemówieniach i dokumentachpapież wielokrotnie przybliżał prawdę o szczególnej mocy Ducha Świętego i jego darów w budowaniu wspólnotowego wymiaru życia Kościoła. Dlatego w niniejszej refleksji – opierając się na alokucji papieża Benedykta XVI – ukazano eklezjotwórczą rolę Ducha Świętego, przychodzącego w sakramencie bierzmowania.

Love, which according to Pope Benedict XVI is the essence of Christianity, must be re–presented (presented anew) today, because God loves everyone without exception. The message of divine love must also be properly explained. Therefore, the purpose of this work is to present  theological and moral truth about God who loves and is love in the light of the teaching of Pope Benedict XVI contained in the encyclical Deus caritas est. The work shows reciprocal love of God and man, with particular emphasis on the priority of God’s love. The issue of human response to God’s love, which finds its fulfillment in the commandment of love, is further illustrated. Moreover, the relationship between the love of God and the love of neighbor, which have always been interpreted together, has been presented.

Sexuality plays an important role in human life. It is a basic factor of personality, agreement with others, expressing and of experiencing human love. However, it is necessary to notice that nowadays the field of human sexuality collides with some concepts and events that make it trivialized. Modern culture separates sexuality from the man’s supernatural vocation, from the integral vision of the person, and basically brings it to the aspect of urges. In this perspective, a reference of human sexuality to the world of moral values is an incredibly important task. These values are marriage, family, procreation and love. Furthermore, the most important entities which influence the attitudes in the field of human sexuality are: family, school and church.
Płciowość odgrywa doniosłą rolę w życiu ludzkim. Jest ona podstawowym współczynnikiem osobowości, porozumienia z innymi, wyrażania i przeżywania ludzkiej miłości. Trzeba jednak zauważyć, że dziedzina ludzkiej płciowości zderza się dzisiaj z pewnymi koncepcjami i zjawiskami, które banalizują płciowość. Współczesna kultura odrywa płciowość od nadprzyrodzonego powołania człowieka, od integralnej wizji osoby ludzkiej, a sprowadza ją wyłącznie do aspektu popędowego. W tej perspektywie niezwykle ważnym zadaniem jest odniesienie ludzkiej płciowości do świata wartości moralnych. Tymi wartościami jest małżeństwo, rodzina, przekazywanie życia i miłość. Do najważniejszych zaś podmiotów mających wpływ na kształtowanie postaw w dziedzinie ludzkiej płciowości należy zaliczyć: rodzinę, szkołę i Kościół.

A man needs culture in order to grow harmoniously. Culture should help to develop each person in full and integral humanism allowing him to reach the fullness of humanity in every aspect of life. Thus, human identity is formed and updated in the cultural sphere. The first and the most important task of culture is to educate. In terms of education through culture it is crucial to teach/form a man in such a way that he could share his values with other people. The second, equally meaningful task of culture is widely understood education, including the issues of science, technology and sports. The means of communication are also a very essential element of cultural growth/development. Upbringing and education as shown in this study allow a better understanding of self, others and the world. They shape in a man the ability to express the right opinions, to become more sensitive to the truth and the beauty and above all, they give a sense of meaning of objective good that creates morality. This is why culture can never be realized to the detriment of a man, but always for his gooda nd moral growth/development.

Opis:
Formation of an ecclesial community constitutes the basic moral call arising from reception of the sacrament of confirmation. Formation of the person should also aim at accomplishing this objective. The Holy Spirit given in the sacrament of confirmation plays a fundamental role in building the Church. Opening up to the gift of the Holy Spirit and submission to His direction allows to find the proper place in the Church and accept full responsibility for destiny of the Church. The ecclesiological role of the Holy Spirit in the sacrament of conformation sounds significantly in the teaching of Benedict XVI. In his speeches and documents, the Pope repeatedly brought the truth about the special power of the Holy Spirit and His gifts into building the community dimension of the life of the Church. Therefore, in this reflection – based on allocations of Pope Benedict XVI – the ecclesiological role of the Holy Spirit, coming in the sacrament of confirmation, was presented.
Duch Święty dany w sakramencie bierzmowania odgrywa fundamentalną rolę w budowaniu Kościoła. Otwartość na dar Ducha Świętego i poddanie się Jego kierownictwu pozwala znaleźć właściwe miejsce w Kościele i przyjąć pełną odpowiedzialność za jego przeznaczenie. Eklezjotwórcza rola Ducha Świętego w sakramencie bierzmowania jest znaczącym elementem w nauczaniu Benedykta XVI.

W zarysowanej wizji zwrócono uwagę na wychowanie człowieka moralnie przyzwoitego i szlachetnego realizowane w środowisku szkolnym. Po rodzinie to dobra szkoła odgrywa istotną rolę w formacji człowieka moralnie dobrego. Szkoła jest powołana, by każdemu człowiekowi dać szansę kształtowania własnej osobowości, swego życia intelektualnego, moralnego i duchowego, co jest niezbędnym warunkiem twórczego włączenia się jednostki w funkcjonowanie społeczeństwa. W tej perspektywie każda szkolna placówka powinna być dla wszystkich — nauczycieli i uczniów — autentyczną wspólnotą, na kształt wielkiej rodziny wychowawczej, w której każdy spotyka się z szacunkiem, niezależnie od swoich zdolności i możliwości intelektualnych. Szkoła, oprócz animowania rozwoju intelektualnego, kulturowego, społecznego i zawodowego człowieka, powinna przekazywać wartości i zasady moralne oraz autentycznie wspierać harmonijny rozwój osoby ludzkiej. Aby mogła wypełnić swoją funkcję wychowawczą, musi istnieć odpowiednie prawodawstwo cywilne, zaś wszyscy tworzący środowisko szkolne powinni posiadać właściwe rozumienie wolności w dziedzinie wychowania. Tylko to może zapewnić harmonijny proces dojrzewania człowieka w pełni przyzwoitego i szlachetnego, którego nie zwiedzie żaden sytuacjonizm moralny.
In this reflection was presented for education about human morally decent and noble acted out primarily in the school environment. A good school is second only to the family, a very important place for education of a morally good person. The school is called to give every man a chance to shape their own personality, his intellectual life, but also moral and spiritual, which is a prerequisite for creative integration of the individual in the functioning of civil society. Therefore, any educational institution should be for everyone — teachers and students — an authentic community, the shape of the great family upbringing, in which each met with respect, regardless of their abilities and intellectual. The school, in addition to animating the development of intellectual, cultural, social and professional human resource should provide the appropriate values and moral principles and genuinely stimulate the harmonious development of the human person. In order to fulfill its educational function, there must be appropriate civil legislation, and creating a school environment everyone should have a proper understanding of freedom in education. Only this can ensure proper maturation of human full decent and noble, you do not fool no moral situationism.
