Opis:: Forms of support for Roma in Poland coming from the European Union revolve mainly around the projects under the Human Capital Operational Programme and on the basis of the Community Initiative Equal Programme. Among the realized projects the special place is occupied by these concerned with the fight against unemployment and with the support of education among the Roma minority. The projects, implemented throughout the years, provide a chance to change the perception of the Roma minority by the society. For the opportunity to participate in a holistic educational process and open access to the labour market seem to be the only way to improve the existing living standards. The advantage of the projects which certainly cannot be overlooked is the fact that the proposed aid enables a change in living conditions of entire Roma families, while respecting their culture, customs and traditions. For only in this way an improvement of the living conditions of the Roma people and a gradual integration with the rest of the society are possible.

Opis:: Suppletion is a linguistic phenomenon that is interesting from a linguistic-historical, linguistic-typological and foreign-language-didactic point of view because it concerns very frequently used lexemes. This article deals with suppletion from a lexicographical perspective. The focus is on the treatment of suppletive forms in monolingual and bilingual dictionaries of German and Polish. It examines which lemmatic and non-lemmatic items giving conjugational forms of the verbs sein and być occur in the selected dictionaries. The article attempts to show the connection between the treatment of the suppletive forms and the dictionary functions. It is also emphasized that a holistic analysis of suppletion in dictionaries should encompass many aspects.

Opis:: Im vorliegenden Beitrag wird die Bezeichnung lexikographische Komparatistik auf bestimmte Forschungsaktivitäten bezogen, die in allen Gebieten der Wörterbuchforschung, also in der systematischen, historischen, kritischen Wörterbuchforschung sowie in der Wörterbuchbenutzungsforschung, von Belang sind. Das Hauptaugenmerk gilt aber der engen Verbindung zwischen der lexikographischen Komparatistik und der Wörterbuchkritik. Die dargestellten Methoden, d.h. die Erforschung der lexikographischen Einflüsse und der Vergleich, können sehr effizient in der Wörterbuchkritik angewendet werden. Da hier der Vergleich als zentraler Begriff der lexikographischen Komparatistik angesehen wird, werden im Beitrag zwei seine Typen – der Vergleich von Wörterbüchern und von Wörterbuchrezensionen – ausführlicher besprochen.
Artykuł przedstawia komparatystykę leksykograficzną jako zbiór metod badawczych, przydatnych we wszystkich obszarach metaleksykografii, tj. w systematycznym, historycznym, krytycznym badaniu słowników jak i w badaniu użycia słowników. Szczególną uwagę poświęca się jednak ścisłym związkom komparatystyki leksykograficznej z krytyką słownikową. Przedstawione metody, czyli badanie wpływów leksykograficznych oraz porównanie, mogą być efektywnie wykorzystane w krytyce słownikowej. Jako że za centralne pojęcie komparatystyki leksykograficznej autorka uważa porównanie, dwa jego typy – porównanie słowników i recenzji słownikowych – zostały tutaj szerzej omówione.
This article proposes to view lexicographic comparatistics as a collection of methods which are useful in all areas of dictionary research, i.e. systematic dictionary research, historical dictionary research, critical dictionary research, and research on dictionary use. The main aim, however, is to show a close relationship between lexicographic comparatistics and dictionary criticism. The two of the presented methods which, respectively, consist in studying influences in the field of lexicography and conducting various kinds of comparisons, referring to lexicographic theory as well as praxis, can be productively applied in dictionary criticism. Making a claim that within lexicographic comparatistics it is comparison that is the dominant concept, the author analyses two types of lexicographic comparison – the comparison of dictionaries and the comparison of dictionary reviews – both of which can also function as methods of dictionary criticism.

Opis:: Discussions on the status and nature of lexicography have been ongoing since at least the 1960s. Some of the most frequently discussed issues concern lexicographical theory, including its very existence, which some scholars find problematic. And if it is considered to exist, questions as to what can be treated as a lexicographic theory arise: Is it a theory of dictionary making practice? Is it a linguistic theory? Is it a separate lexicographical theory? The aim of the article is to present and comment on the divergent positions. Finally, the author draws attention to the factors that cause that the discussion on lexicographical theory is not always conducted at the appropriate scientific level.

Opis:: The process of language production is the correct connecting of separate words to bigger meaningful units and eventually the forming of sentences is based on certain rules called combination or compatibility rules. This article focuses on the semantic part of the combination mechanism, because it seems to be the primary one. The syntactic part will be discussed only briefly in the introductory chapter. The investigation encompasses the following aspects: a presentation of mechanisms of syntagmatic lexem connecting, restrictions of selection within word combinations and finally the separation of semantic selection rules from restrictions that are based only on language usage. Such investigations can be very useful for the description of contextual word behavior and consequently for foreign language teaching, especially when these investigations and their results are compared with those in other languages. Breaking the combination rules caused by interference may lead to many semantic-lexical mistakes.

Opis:: Istniejące badania dotyczące pracy zdalnej obejmują różne aspekty, w tym ocenę efektywności, wpływu na zdrowie i samopoczucie pracowników, wykorzystywaną technologię czy przyszłość pracy. Przeprowadzono jednak niewiele badań dotyczących różnic międzypokoleniowych, które mogą wpływać na postrzeganie i ocenę pracy zdalnej w sektorze publicznym. Przeprowadzone badanie ma na celu porównanie opinii pokoleń BB, X, Y na temat pracy zdalnej. Uzyskane wyniki wskazują, że istnieje zależność pomiędzy wiekiem pracowników a stopieniem preferencji pracy zdalnej w stosunku do pracy tradycyjnej, efektywnością wykonywanej pracy zdalnej oraz oceną czasu realizacji zadań podczas pracy zdalnej. Brak jest natomiast zależności pomiędzy oceną problemów technicznych oraz mentalnych związanych z przejściem na pracę zdalną, jak również oceną wpływu pracy zdalnej na relacje w zespole. Wyniki te mogą przyczynić się do rozwoju międzypokoleniowych strategii zarządzania zasobami ludzkimi, wspomagać podejmowanie decyzji zarządczych oraz powinny być eksplorowane w przyszłości.
Existing research on remote work covers various aspects, including the assessment of effectiveness, impact on employee health and well-being, technology used, and the future of work. However, little research has been done on the intergenerational differences that may influence the perception and evaluation of remote working in the public sector. Our study aims to compare the opinions of generations BB, X, and Y on remote work. The obtained results indicate that there is a relationship between the age of employees and the degree of preference for remote work in relation to traditional work, the effectiveness of remote work, and the assessment of the time required for task completion during remote work. However, there is no relationship between the assessment of technical and mental problems related to the transition to remote work and the assessment of the impact of remote work on the relationship in the team. These results can contribute to the development of intergenerational human resource management strategies and support management decision-making and should be explored further in the future.

Opis:: Background: Biocompatible fluids were introduced to improve dialysis and patient outcome in end-stage renal disease. However, being buffered with lactate, they may insufficiently correct metabolic acidosis, and lead to changes in peritoneum structure. Bicarbonate buffered fluids might mitigate these complications. The aim of the study was to evaluate the influence of a bicarbonate dialysis fluid on clinical and laboratory indices of dialysis adequacy. Material and methods: 20 prevalent peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients created two groups. One group continued on lactate fluid, the other changed to bicarbonate solution. Clinical and laboratory indices of dialysis adequacy were evaluated at baseline, and at six weeks intervals for 24 weeks. Results: In bicarbonate group, pH was 7.36±0.03, HCO3 22.1±1.8 mmol/l at baseline and 7.36±0.04 and 21.2± 2.3 mmol/l at 24 weeks, while in controls pH equaled 7.35±0.12, HCO3 22.2±1.4 mmol/l, at baseline, and 7.40±0.03, and 22.3±1.8 mmol/l, at 24 weeks, with no significant differences. Dialysis adequacy (urea Kt/V), urine output and dialysis ultrafiltration did not differ between the groups, either at baseline or at study termination. Conclusions: Bicarbonate PD solution appears to be similar to standard fluid in the impact on hydration status and on acid/base balance. Longitudinal studies are needed to assess long-term advantages of these biocompatible solutions.
