    Opis:
    The cross-sectional association between female labour force participation rates and fertility in developed countries shifted from negative to positive during the 1980s. Ever since then, researchers have applied different statistical approaches; therefore, the present study re-evaluates the results by applying a distinct strategy to the data from2000 to 2020 for 32 countries belonging to the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). Specifically, the data analysis discussed here implemented the so-called „unified“ model, thereby extending the analysis beyond the limitations of the fixed effects (FE) method; namely, by decomposing coefficients within (time-series) and between (cross-sectional) countries‘ effects, the study increased the explanatory power of our statistical model on the relation between fertility level and female labour force participation rate. Eventually, the selected statistical approach has shown the potential to offer a better interpretation of results in comparison to previous studies. Finally, this study confirmed the persistence of a negative trend in a time-series association between labour force participation and fertility.

    Opis:
    W artykule omawiamy rozwój ludności wiejskiej w Polsce w ciągu ostatnich 60 lat i najnowsze prognozy demograficzne Głównego Urzędu Statystycznego. Przedmiotem naszej uwagi są także procesy demograficzne w przekroju miasto-wieś. Polska należy do mniej zurbanizowanych krajów europejskich. Z krajów sąsiadujących z Polską, niższy odsetek ludności miejskiej występuje tylko na Słowacji. Jednakże w przeszłości różnice w poziomie urbanizacji Polski i innych krajów europejskich były dużo większe. W latach 1950-1990 odsetek ludności miejskiej w Polsce wzrósł z 35 do 62%. Natomiast od 1990r. odsetek ludności wiejskiej przestał opadać a w ostatnich kilku latach widoczny jest nawet spadek urbanizacji naszego kraju. Główną przyczyną zmiany jest systematyczna zmiana kierunków migracji. Coraz więcej ludności miejskiej przesiedla się na wieś. Dość zastanawiające, że proces ten zaczął się znacznie wcześniej, niż zmienił się system polityczny w Polsce. Od 1975r. zmniejsza się systematycznie ujemne saldo migracji wieś -miasto a od 2000r. coraz więcej ludności wędruje na wieś niż niej wychodzi. Zwracamy też uwagę, że podobne zjawiska wzrostu znaczenia zaludnienia obszarów wiejskich występują także w innych krajach. Jednakże, chociaż Polska podąża za krajami europejskimi także w sferze przemian obyczajowych, to wieś wydaje się ostoją tradycyjnych wartości rodzinnych.
    In this paper we discuss the development of the rural population in Poland over the past 60 years and the latest demographic projections of Central Statistical Office. The main objects of our attention are the demographic processes in rural-urban cross-section. Poland belongs to the less urbanized countries in Europe. Among Polish neighbors, a lower proportion of urban population is only in Slovakia. However, in the past, differences in the level of urbanization between Poland and other European countries were much higher. In the years 1950-1990 the percentage of urban population in Poland increased from 35 to 62%. However, since 1990. share of rural population has ceased to fall and in the last few years have seen a decline in urbanization even in our country. The main reason for the change is a systematic change in the directions of rural-urban migration. More and more urban population moves to the village. Quite interestingly, this process began much earlier than the changed political system in Poland. Since 1975. decreases systematically negative balance of net rural-urban migration. Since 2000. more and more of the population migrates to the country than comes out. We also pay attention that a similar phenomenon of the growing importance of the share of rural population also occurs in other countries. However, while Poland is following the European countries also in the sphere of customary transformation, the village population seems to be the mainstay of traditional family values.

    Celem opracowania jest rozpoznanie: wielkości, zmian i zróżnicowania współczynnika dzietności w województwie wielkopolskim według powiatów, kształtu i siły zależności między współczynnikiem dzietności a dochodem na 1 mieszkańca w powiatach województwa wielkopolskiego. Zakres czasowy opracowania obejmuje lata 1999–2010. Źródłem opracowania były dane Banku Danych Regionalnych za lata 1999–2010 zawarte na stronie internetowej Głównego Urzędu Statystycznego. Do opisu dynamiki współczynnika dzietności wykorzystano indeksy dynamiki o podstawie stałej, a do określenia wpływu dochodu na współczynnik dzietności ogólnej – analizę korelacji regresji dwu zmiennych. Rezultaty badania ukazały, że w badanym okresie, w badanym województwie i powiatach współczynniki dzietności nie zapewniały prostej reprodukcji ludności. W badanych powiatach analizowanego województwa w latach 2000–2010 współczynniki dzietności są zróżnicowane co do intensywności i kierunku. W postępowaniu badawczym potwierdzono hipotezę o zależności współczynnika dzietności ogólnej od dochodu na 1 mieszkańca. Oszacowane modele regresji współczynnika dzietności względem dochodu różnią się kształtem według środowiska zamieszkania.
    The aim of this paper is to identify the size and diversity of changes to the fertility rate in the Wielkopolska region by county; namely the shape and strength of the relationship between fertility rate and income per capita in the districts of Wielkopolska. The study covers the years 1999–2010. It is based on data from the Regional Data Bank for the years 1999–2010 published on the website of the Polish Central Statistical Office. To describe the dynamics of the fertility rate fixed-base indexes were used; and to determine the impact of incomes on total fertility rate, a regression analysis on the correlation of two variables. The results of the study showed that during the period analysed, fertility rates in the region and its counties did not provide a simple reproductive model for the population. In the counties studied during the 2000–2010 period, the intensity and direction of fertility rates varied. Additionally, the hypothesis of a correlation between total fertility rate and income per capita was confirmed. Finally, the estimated regression models of fertility rates relative to income vary according to the living environment.
