    Opis:
    The revival of theology of the laity that was initiated by the Vatican Council II bears fruit in the form of giving back the dignity and role to the lay faithful, which follows from the fact that they belong to the Church community. Giving them back their subjective character in the Church is tantamount to recognizing their salutary activity in the Church and in the world. The Christian formation of lay Catholics seems a particularly important issue, as it is the foundation of a complete and proper involvement of lay Catholics in the life and mission of the Church. The article undertakes the problem of the formation of lay Catholics, first showing what formation is and what its most important dimensions are. Next it discusses the aims of formation and the circles in which formation takes place. Finally, it points to the most important challenges that are faced by the formation of lay Catholics in Poland twenty years after publishing John Paul II’s post-synodal exhortation Christifideles laici.

    The teaching of the Second Vatican Council develops an understanding of the Church as an integral entirety, present in the world and operating in accordance with its nature and purpose. Every personal commitment of a lay faithful, every effort made and each achievement has an impact on others and the whole Church. However, the commitment of adult Catholics to the world requires their appropriate preparation. Therefore, this article will first present the ecclesiological foundations of the lay faithful’s earthly commitment, and then, the process of their preparation, taking into consideration their personal and religious development. Finally it will also explore the meaning of the community as the place of their permanent formation.

    The text is a result of a research project titled “The significance of parish-distributed press for the evangelization and formation activities of the Szczecin-Kamień Church (2016–2020).” The project was realized by members of the Department of Media Evangelism of the Institute of Journalism as part of the basic statutory activity of the Faculty of Philosophy of the Jesuit University Ignatianum in Cracow. Indicating the need for this research, it is worth noting that already several years ago, the Archdiocesan Archives in Szczecin planned a pastoral study on the topic of “Libraries and parish press in the Szczecin‑Kamień Archdiocese,” which was not implemented. The purpose of this study is to find an answer to the question of whether evangelization and formation of the Niedziela Catholic weekly readers is carried out through the message. The presentation of the 2016–2020 editions of the Szczecin-Kamień Niedziela delivers a positive answer: yes, by learning the thoughts and facts provided, the faithful of the archdiocese were able to engage more consciously and with greater commitment in the works of evangelization and formation that applied to them. The first part of the study is an explanation of what evangelization and formation activities that are mandatory for Catholics consist of and the necessity of using the means of social communication to carry out these activities. The second part describes content filling the eight pages of the weekly message addressed to the Roman Catholic Church on the Oder and Baltic were filled. The message included the teaching of the diocesan bishop, descriptions of the ways in which the faithful engage liturgically, accounts of archdiocesan and parish activities, in addition to the social teaching of August Cardinal Hlond and Stefan Cardinal Wyszyński. The third part of the article juxtaposes elements that make up evangelization and formation activities with content directed to Catholics in the weekly paper distributed in parishes. In this way, it was shown that each reader could not only witness the process of evangelization and formation taking place in the Szczecin-Kamień Archdiocese, but also get involved in it.
    Tekst należy do publikacji będących wynikiem realizacji projektu badawczego zatytułowanego „Znaczenie pism parafialnych dla ewangelizacyjnej i formacyjnej działalności Kościoła szczecińsko-kamieńskiego (2016–2020)”. Zrealizowany został przez członków Katedry Ewangelizacji Medialnej Instytutu Dziennikarstwa w ramach podstawowej działalności statutowej Wydziału Filozoficznego Akademii Ignatianum w Krakowie. Wskazując potrzebę realizacji tych badań, warto zaznaczyć, że już kilka lat temu w Archiwum Archidiecezjalnym w Szczecinie zaplanowano duszpasterskie badania na temat: „Biblioteki i prasa parafialna w archidiecezji szczecińsko-kamieńskiej”, które nie zostały zrealizowane. Celem niniejszego opracowania jest znalezienie odpowiedzi na pytanie, czy przez lekturę katolickiego tygodnika dokonuje się ewangelizacja i formacja odbiorców przekazywanych w nim treści. Prezentacja przykładowych treści edycji szczecińsko-kamieńskiej tygodnika „Niedziela” z lat 2016–2020 przekonuje do pozytywnej odpowiedzi: dzięki poznawaniu przekazywanych myśli i faktów wierni wskazanej archidiecezji mogli bardziej świadomie i z większym zaangażowaniem włączać się w obowiązujące ich działa ewangelizacji i formacji. Pierwszą część opracowania stanowi wytłumaczenie, na czym polegają zarówno obowiązujące katolików działania ewangelizacyjne i formacyjne, jak i konieczność wykorzystywania środków społecznego komunikowania do przeprowadzania tych działań. W drugiej części opisane zostały treści, którymi wypełnionych było osiem stron cotygodniowego przekazu kierowanego do Kościoła nad Odrą i Bałtykiem. Przekaz ten zawierał nauczanie biskupa diecezjalnego, opisy sposobów liturgicznego angażowania się wiernych, relacje z działalności o zasięgu archidiecezjalnym i parafialnym, społeczne nauczanie kard. Augusta Hlonda i kard. Stefana Wyszyńskiego. W trzeciej części artykułu zestawione zostały elementy tworzące działanie ewangelizacyjne i formacyjne z treściami kierowanymi do katolików na łamach rozprowadzanego w parafiach tygodnikach. W ten sposób pokazano, że każdy z czytelników mógł nie tylko dostrzec dokonujący się w archidiecezji szczecińsko-kamieńskiej proces ewangelizacji i formacji, lecz także zaangażować się w niego.

    The Catholic school and the Catholic university are important milieus of formation of lay Catholics. The article shows specific elements defining them, and it distinguishes them from other academic-educational centers. Both these institutions realize one of the basic elements of the Church’s mission, that is the education of man, leading him to a full maturity by the subsequent stages in his life and development. Forming young people’s minds and hearts, aiding them in winning wisdom and in using the riches of cultures, forming sensibility to good and beauty in them, and supporting them in getting professional competences is the most important task of schools and universities.

    The Liturgy of the Hours, in accord with the teaching of the Church, is the prayer of all of the People of God. Everybody participates in accordance with their position in the Church: presbyters as well as all the lay faithful, to the extent they are able. This liturgical prayer of the Church can become the beginning of personal prayer if first the pastors are convinced of the significance of the Liturgy of the Hours in the life of the Church, the parish and in the internal life of the individual lay persons. There is a necessity for the formation of laity in this regard. There is also a need for adequate formation in seminaries as it relates to this matter. It is of great importance to celebrate the patrons of archdioceses, dioceses and parishes together with the Liturgy of the Hours with participation of laity. It is necessary to properly conduct biblical-liturgical catechesis for the lay people. It is of importance to underline the Liturgy of the Hours in the community, the family, the individual, groups and organizations.
    Liturgia Godzin według nauczania Kościoła jest modlitwą całego Ludu Bożego. Każdy bierze w niej udział, zgodnie z miejscem w Kościele: prezbiterzy, jak i wszyscy wierni świeccy – według możliwości. Modlitwa liturgiczna Kościoła może stać się zaczynem modlitwy osobistej, jeśli najpierw sami duszpasterze będą przekonani o jej doniosłości w życiu Kościoła, parafii i w życiu wewnętrznym poszczególnych świeckich. Konieczna jest odpowiednia formacja katolików świeckich w tym względzie. Również formacja seminaryjna w tym zakresie powinna kształcić wśród przyszłych kapłanów właściwe postawy. Bardzo ważne są obchody ku czci patronów metropolii, diecezji, parafii z połączeniem celebracji Liturgii Godzin (z włączeniem w nią ludzi świeckich). Rolę kluczową w recepcji tej modlitwy wśród świeckich odgrywa permanentna katecheza biblijno-liturgiczna. Jedną z dróg rozpowszechniania Ducha Liturgii Godzin jest przeżywanie tej formy modlitwy, jak i dojrzewanie do niej w małych grupach i stowarzyszeniach, które swoją praktyką „popularyzują” modlitwy psalmami.

    W artykule opisano badania nad relacjami między duchowością i religijnością a zaangażowaniem w formację liturgiczną oraz takimi czynnikami, jak płeć, wiek i wykształcenie badanych. Teoretyczną podstawą do badania poziomu duchowości jest koncepcja traktowania go jako zdolności człowieka podlegającego rozwojowi. Poziom ten składa się z wrażliwości etycznej, harmonii i religijności, a także ogólnego poziomu duchowości. Religijność rozumiana jest jako system znaczeń, który składa się z orientacji, sensu i ogólnie rozumianej religijności. Do uzyskania wyników wykorzystano ankietę autorską I. Heszen-Niejodek, E. Gruszczyńskiej i A. Metlaka oraz Kwestionariusz Religijny Systemu Znaczeń D. Kroka. Wyniki badań wskazują, że osoby podejmujące formację liturgiczną charakteryzują się wyższym poziomem duchowości i religijności niż osoby niezaangażowane. Wyższy poziom obu zmiennych prezentują także kobiety w porównaniu z mężczyznami. Badania te mają charakter pilotażowy i mogą stanowić podstawę dla działań duszpasterskich i dalszych badań w zakresie tych ludzkich dyspozycji.
    This article describes research on the relationships between Spirituality and Religiosity with the involvement in liturgical formation and with such factors as: sex, age and education of the respondents. The theoretical basis for studying the level of Spirituality is the concept of treating it as human’s ability subject to development. It consists of ethical sensitivity, harmony and religiosity, as well as the general level of spirituality. Religiosity is understood as a system of meanings, that consists of: orientation, sense and generally understood religiosity. The Self-Written Questionnaire authored by I. Heszen-Niejodek, E. Gruszczyńska and A. Metlak and the Religious Questionnaire of the Significance System by D. Krok were used to obtain the results. The research results indicate that people undertaking liturgical formation are characterized by a higher level of Spirituality and Religiosity than non-committed people. The higher level of both variables is also presented by women in comparison with men. These studies are of a pilot nature and can form the basis for pastoral activities and further research in the scope of these human dispositions.
