Opis:
The article reviews various definitions of implicit derivation and conversion as applied to Danish verbs turned into nouns. The nouns are divided into classes on the basis of their derivational history and their role in the system of the language. The conversion of verb stems, a productive word-formational type in contemporary Danish, is singled out for special treatment.

In the first part of the paper, Azzouni’s derivation–indicator view was presented. In the second part it is analyzed in a detailed way. It is shown, that many problems arise, which cannot be explained in a satisfactory way in Azzouni’s theory, in particular the problem of the explanatory role of proof, of its epistemic role; the relationship between first–order and second–order versions of proofs is also not clear. It is concluded, that Azzouni’s theory does not provide a satisfactory account of mathematical proof, but inspires an interesting discussion. In the article, some of the mentioned problems are discussed.

The article is devoted to the problem of status of mathematical proofs, in particular it tries to capture the relationship between the real, „semantic” notion of mathematical proof, and its formal (algorithmic) counterpart. In the first part, Azzouni’s derivation–indicator view is presented in a detailed way. According to the DI view, there is a formal derivation underlying every real proof.

However, they do not contribute much to the explanation of the name of the city, which, in all likelihood, is derived from the name Krak, supposedly a founder. Attention should also be paid to parallel names from the area of Czech type Krakov, Krakovec, Krakovany, which could indicate their common origin.

Opis:
In this paper, we place some left restrictions on derivations in CD grammar systems with phrase- structure grammars, controlled by the regular languages. The first restriction requires that every production is always applied within the first k nonterminals in every sentential form, for some $k \ge 1$. The second restriction says how many blocks of non-terminals can be in each sentential form. The third restriction extends the second restriction and says how many blocks of non-terminals with limited length can be in each sentential form. We demonstrate that under these restrictions, the grammar systems generate different families of languages. Indeed, under the first restriction, these systems generate only context-free languages. Under the second restriction, even one-component systems characterize the entire family of recursively enumerable languages. In the end, the family of languages generated by grammar systems under the third restriction is equal to the family of languages generated by programmed grammars with context-free rules without $\epsilon$- rules of nite index.

The article investigates the features of modern word derivation. Observations of the author of the processes of word creation, as identified in the texts of newspaper journalism and lively conversation, allow you to talk about the major innovation trends. The tendency to economy language means led to a sharp increase in the composite of the names that reflect almost all spheres of modern life. Among the active compressive methods also include abbreviation and univerbization. Active are different kinds of words derived from proper names. Significantly increased the number of occasional words that demonstrate individual and creative approach to the derivation.

Opis:
The paper describes types of derivational formatives in Polish and Romanian functional, i.e. synchronic derivation, focusing on the proper derivation (i.e. derivation from single-word bases). The proper derivation is positioned as a type of word-formation and a branch of morphology. The author identifies theprimary functions of derivational formatives: the semantic, pragmatic and syntactic function. The formatives are identified using a methodology developed in Polish word-formation theory, especially within nest derivatology. Applying a methodology developed for the description of the Polish word-formationsystem is aimed at distinguishing derivational formatives in Romanian. The author identifies and classifies the following types of derivational formatives in Romanian: affixes (among these prefixes, suffixes, postfixes and ambifixes), alternants (defined as members of alternation), negative formatives (in backformation), paradigmatic formatives (defined as changes in inflexional paradigm), zero formative and accentual formatives. The author also suggests including the types of word-formation stems in the description of the formal structure of derivatives.

Opis:
There is ongoing discussion about how to conceptualize the nature of the distinction between inflection and derivation. A common approach relies on qualitative differences in the semantic relationship between inflectionally versus derivationally related words: inflection yields ways to discuss the same concept in different syntactic contexts, while derivation gives rise to words for related concepts. This differential can be expected to manifest in the predictability of word frequency between words that are related derivationally or inflectionally: predicting the token frequency of a word based on information about its base form or about related words should be easier when the two words are in an inflectional relationship, rather than a derivational one. We compare prediction error magnitude for statistical models of token frequency based on distributional and frequency information of inflectionally or derivationally related words in French. The results conform to expectations: it is easier to predict the frequency of a word from properties of an inflectionally related word than from those of a derivationally related word. Prediction error provides a quantitative, continuous method to explore differences between individual processes and differences yielded by employing different predicting information, which in turn can be used to draw conclusions about the nature and manifestation of the inflection–derivation distinction.

Opis:
Greenberg’s Universal 28 says that ‘if both the derivation and inflection follow the root, or they both precede the root, the derivation is always between the root and the inflection’ (Greenberg 1966: 93). Booij (1994: 27) undermines this by allowing inherent inflection to feed derivation. There is abundant literature showing that inherent inflection can feed derivation in Germanic, Romance and Slavic languages (Booij 1994, 1996, Chapman 1996, Rainer 1996, Cetnarowska 1999). The aim of this paper is to describe and compare derivational categories related to participle forms in Irish and Polish. These include among others agent nouns, adjectives of tendency/inclination, resultative passive adjectives and facilitative adjectives. Stump (2005: 52) points out that the terms present and past participle are, in fact, misnomers since participles are uninflected for tense, and they should be regarded as stems conveying aspect information plus the lexical information of the root. The existence of derivatives based on inflected forms is usually taken as evidence against the inflection-derivation dichotomy, and in favour of a tripartition into contextual inflection, inherent inflection and derivation. The paper addresses the theoretical ramifications of the existence of such derivatives for inferential-realisational approaches (Stump 2001), such as for example Beard’s (1995) Lexeme-Morpheme Base Morphology, which separates the operations on the grammatical (morpholexical and morphosyntactic) features and operations responsible for the morphophonological modification of the root/stem.

Opis:
The paper deals with selected hyperbolic verbal phrasemes of German and their formation mechanisms. Hyperbolic metaphor and hyperbole are present as semantic-rhetorical foundations of the formation of the studied phrasemes and are not only based on semantic-syntactic combinations within the phraseological components, but also on corresponding cognitive structures (metaphor models and metonymies). Both types of operations are explained in the article. The formation mechanisms of hyperbolic verbal phrasemes enter into larger areas of study of phraseology: modeling of phraseological systems and phraseological derivation. Hyperbolic verbal phrasemes as typically idiosyncratic units prove to be modelable, i.e. describable in series within syntactic-semantic schemata. They are also subject to lively derivational processes, i.e. they form the basis for the emergence of new phrasemes. Modeling and derivation are thus important factors in the formation of hyperbolic verbal phrases and are also explained in the article.

The derivation through exchange of prefixes (DEP) has been acknowledged as an autonomic derivation technique in Polish only in 2003, and first described in 2010. In French linguistics, it is unknown. However, an analysis of semantic and word formation structure confirms its existence. The contrastive research on this derivation technique, extended to the recent (2006-2015) derivatives, will eventually result in its more precise description and a classification of its products. Recognizing the DEP will lead to a rearrangement of the whole word formation system, among other things, because many derivatives thus formed were treated as simply prefixed ones. The comparison of how the DEP functions in non- related languages will bring us closer to an answer to the question: Can the semantic regularities of the DEP and its rules be universal for the indo-European languages?
