Nowadays, the desire and the emphasis, which are put on continuous development, drive the innovative ideas all over the word. As an effect, the concept of Smart City was created. This term refers to the cities where logistics and public means of transport are crucial. One of the pioneering ideas implemented in Smart City is the possibility of renting a vehicle for minutes. This solution is proposed mainly in the big metropolises, and thanks to the development of Internet of Things, it has recently gained huge popularity. Among the offered vehicles, there are not only classic, ordinary passenger cars, but also the alternative means of transport such as: electric scooters, bicycles and delivery vehicles. In the context of the implementation of Smart City, Katowice decided to allow the transport-sharing companies to introduce their services within Silesia Province. The following project studies the competitiveness of transport-sharing enterprises’ services. The final conclusion shows that the variety of different transport-sharing companies’ proposals give customers the opportunity to choose the most appropriate and economical option for them in a particular moment.

System roweru publicznego (bike-sharing system) staje się coraz bardziej powszechnym elementem systemu transportowego w przestrzeni miast w Polsce i na świecie. Do głównych powodów wprowadzania tego rozwiązania na obszarach miejskich zaliczyć można potrzebę zwiększenia wydajności miejskich systemów transportowych oraz dążenie do ograniczenia problemów tworzących się wskutek presji tradycyjnych środków transportu na środowisko. Rower publiczny z powodzeniem staje się także elementem transportu multimodalnego łącząc się z innymi środkami transportu publicznego. W Polsce bike-sharing funkcjonuje od 2008 r. rozszerzając swój zasięg z każdym kolejnym rokiem o nowe miasta, a także obszary wiejskie. W opracowaniu przeanalizowano zmiany liczby systemów w Polsce w latach 2017-2018 – w okresie największego rozwoju tej formy transportu na badanym obszarze. Analizę wykonano w oparciu o wskaźniki liczby stacji roweru publicznego na określonej powierzchni oraz liczby rowerów na tle liczby mieszkańców analizowanych miejscowości. W pracy porównano także cenniki wypożyczeń rowerów dla poszczególnych systemów funkcjonujących w Polsce. Na podstawie przeanalizowanych danych wyznaczono także kierunki rozwoju roweru publicznego w Polsce.
The public bicycle system (bike-sharing system) is becoming an increasingly common element of the transport system in urban space in Poland and in the world. The main reasons for implementing this solution in urban areas include the need to increase the efficiency of urban transport systems and to reduce the problems created by the pressure of traditional means of transport on the environment. Public bike is also successfully becoming an element of multimodal transport by connecting with other public transport. In Poland, bike-sharing has been operating since 2008, expanding its range with each subsequent year for new cities, as well as rural areas. The study analyzed changes in the number of systems in Poland in 2017-2018 – in the period of the greatest development of this form of transport in the studied area. The analysis was based on the indicators of the number of public bicycle stations on a given area and the number of bicycles on the background of the number of inhabitants of the analyzed cities. The work also compared bicycle rental rates for individual systems operating in Poland. On the basis of the analyzed data, the directions of public bicycle development in Poland were also determined.

The first one presents historical development of car-sharing systems, whereas the second, prospects for their development in 2020-2025.

Shared transportation, directly corresponding to research on the sharing economy, is an important issue, directly linked with the issue of city transport, as well as that of alternative transport when analysed from a broader perspective. Forms of alternative city transport may be classified into two basic groups, different in terms of the manner in which they use their shared vehicles. It is either ride-sourcing or vehicle-sourcing (further broken down to car-sharing, bike-sharing and scooter-sharing). All the above-specified forms require access to a mobile app or a website and, consequently, some Internet and app-using skills, so it is obvious that they are predominantly used by young people. The fact prompted the author to research consumer behaviour in the sharing economy area among young people, who are regular users of the public transport available in Krakow. The research was conducted on a group of 96 respondents using qualitative method (FGI). The objective of the research was to identify the factors which determine some specific mobile behaviours in young adults in the area of alternative forms of the public transport, as well as identification of these forms of transport which are preferred and most popular among users. With all certainty, alternative forms of transport represent an attractive transportation offer addressed to young people, complementing the city transport system. Young people pointed to the particular importance of hedonistic factors prevailing n their choices, as they particularly appreciated reaching their destination in a fast, pleasant and comfortable anner, as well as the feeling of independence and freedom. However, alternative transport was certainly not hosen for reasons related to the environmental protection or economic aspects.

W artykule omówiono zastosowanie idei współdzielenia zasobów logistycznych w łańcuchach transportowych wykorzystujących transport intermodalny. Uwaga skoncentrowana została na wpływie kooperacji konkurentów na możliwości zwiększenia udziału transportu intermodalnego w towarowych przewozach ładunków. Autor, omawiając istniejące przypadki wyżej wymienionej współpracy, wskazuje możliwości zastosowania koncepcji sharing economy na rynku usług transportu intermodalnego i zwiększenia przez to jego udziału w całości przewozów. W artykule określono również warunki (m.in. organizacyjne), jakie muszą być spełnione dla utworzenia lub zwiększenia współpracy w omawianych łańcuchach transportowych. Autor stwierdza, że koopetycja małych i średnich przedsiębiorstw potęguje ich możliwości konkurencyjne na globalnym rynku. Jednocześnie, w przypadku zastosowania koopetycji w celu zmiany sposobu transportu na transport intermodalny, oprócz korzyści jakościowych oraz ekonomicznych pojawiają się korzyści środowiskowe. Autor stwierdza także, że istnieje potrzeba tworzenia programów wspierających i promujących koopetycję w określonych obszarach gospodarki.
The article discusses the application of the idea of sharing logistics resources in transport chains using intermodal transport. Attention was focused on the impact of competitors cooperation on the possibility of increasing the share of intermodal transport of cargo transports. By presenting the existing cases of the above-mentioned cooperation, the author shows the possibilities of applying the concept of ‘sharing economy’ on the market of intermodal transport services and thereby increasing its share in overall transport. The article also sets up the conditions (inter alia organizational) that must be met to create, or increase cooperation in transport chains. The author states that the coopetition of small and medium-sized enterprises increases their competitive potential in the global market. At the same time, when coopetition is used to change the mode of transport to intermodal transport, in addition to qualitative and economic benefits, there are also wide range of environmental benefits. The author also states that there is a need to create programs supporting and promoting coopetition in specific areas.

Currently, in urban areas, there are a lot of services related to the new mobility concept. The development of such services brings many benefits, from supplementing the transport of fer of a given city to environmental and economic aspects. However, it is worth remembering that these services are dedicated to the society and it is the target group of recipients of all the adwantages of shared mobility. Due to this, the authors proposed the possibility of considering shared mobility services as a solution supporting the overcoming of barriers in access to transport services and a preventive measure of social exclusion. The work includes aspects of improving transport accessibility, possibilities of adjusting services to the needs of the society, safety of services and reduction of the phenomenon of social exclusion. The work is support for the popularization of shared mobility services and public education.

Problematyka badania obejmuje rozwój mobilności współdzielonej w Polsce. Analizie poddano zarówno determinanty rozwoju polityk mobilnościowych w kraju, jak i za granicą. Wyznaczono również bariery oraz tendencje rozwojowe. W  opracowaniu wykorzystano następujące metody badawcze: przegląd i  krytyczną analizę literatury przedmiotu i  opracowań branżowych, analizę statystyczną oraz analizy GIS. Przeprowadzone analizy wskazują jednoznacznie na to, że transport współdzielony systematycznie zyskuje popularność. Uwarunkowane jest to m.in. zmianą podejścia decydentów do rozwoju ośrodków miejskich, obierając w swoich działaniach rozwojowych bardziej zrównoważony kierunek. Transformacja ta zachodzi również w  podejściu do rozwoju przestrzenno-funkcjonalnego miast. Obejmuje ona odejście od tradycyjnego modelu projektowania z nastawieniem na użytkowanie samochodów do zwrócenia większej uwagi na potrzeby mieszkańców. Wynika to również ze zmiany postaw i świadomości użytkowników miejskich, którzy dostrzegają negatywny wpływ środowiskowy, wynikający z ich preferencji transportowych. Opracowano i poddano analizie zestawienia statystyczne w krajach Europy Środkowo-Wschodniej. Wyniki wskazują na to, że Polska jest liderem w zakresie wolumenu zainteresowania użytkowników korzystaniem z transportu współdzielonego. Wykorzystano również studium przypadku Trójmiasta do zbadania atrakcyjności usług transportu współdzielonego na jego terenie. Wyznaczono zarówno obszary koncentracji usług współdzielonych, jak i obszary, w których transport publiczny jest niedostatecznie rozwinięty, a mobilność współdzielona może tę lukę uzupełnić.
The problem of the study includes the development of shared mobility in Poland. The determinants of mobility policies development in the country and abroad were analyzed. Barriers and development tendencies were also determined. The study uses the following research methods: review and critical analysis of the literature on the subject and industry studies, statistical and GIS analysis. The conducted analyses clearly indicate that shared transport is systematically gaining popularity. It is conditioned, among others, by a change in the approach of decision makers to the development of urban centers, taking a more sustainable direction in their development activities. This transformation is also taking place in the approach to spatialfunctional development of cities. It includes a shift from the traditional design model of focusing on car use to paying more attention to the needs of residents. It also results from a change in attitudes and awareness of urban users who recognize the negative environmental impacts resulting from their use. Statistical summaries in Central and Eastern European countries have been compiled and analysed. The results show that Poland is the leader in terms of the volume of users’ interest in using shared transport. A case study of Tricity was also used to investigate the attractiveness of shared transport services in its area. Both areas of concentration of shared services and areas where public transport is underdeveloped were identified, where it was pointed out that shared mobility can fill this gap.

Purpose: The purpose of the article is to discuss and analyze new regulations regarding passenger transport, new obligations of intermediaries such as Uber and drivers using such platforms. Design/methodology/approach: Analysis and interpretation of legal provisions, analysis of the socio-economic context and desirable implications. Findings: The new regulations should increase the sense of justice and equal treatment of entrepreneurs due to the unification of the requirements for all entities providing passenger transport services. Potential increase in the quality of transport services for consumers due to greater legal certainty and standards. Regulating the status and activities of intermediary platforms that have previously operated in the sphere of legal uncertainty. Originality/value: This is one of the few first studies on regulations that have been in force recently and regulating the controversy related to Uber's activity in Poland. This should be a practical source of knowledge and conclusions about the applicable regulations for transport companies, drivers wishing to operate e.g. under the Uber banner, as well as aware passengers who can expect the quality of services provided.

The article is related to urban transport systems. The authors focus on solutions that will positively influence the problem of excessive noise or pollution generated in cities through transport activities. They refer to existing single initiatives, but also demonstrate the need for complex solutions that integrate solutions into a single system that enables the use of various means of transport through organizational and ICT solutions. The aim of the article was to present a review of selected solutions that could reduce the harmful effects of transport, which can be used to improve the environmental performance of urban transport systems.
Artykuł poświęcony został tematyce miejskich systemów transportowych. W pracy skupiono się na rozwiązaniach, które mają pozytywnie wpłynąć na problemy nadmiernego hałasu czy zanieczyszczeń powstałych w miastach poprzez działalność transportową. Autorzy odnieśli się do istniejących już pojedynczych inicjatyw ale także ukazali potrzebę zastosowania rozwiązań kompleksowych, których zadaniem jest integracja rozwiązań w jeden system umożliwiający korzystanie z różnych środków transportu poprzez rozwiązania organizacyjne oraz ICT (ang. Information and Communication Technologies). Celem artykułu było zaprezentowanie przeglądu wybranych rozwiązań, które mogą ograniczyć szkodliwy wpływ transportu na wybranych rozwiązań stosowanych w celu poprawy ekologiczności miejskich systemów transportowych.

Opis:
Koncepcja rowerów miejskich istnieje na świecie od 1965 roku i zmieniała się na przestrzeni lat. Obecnie systemy rowerów miejskich zyskują coraz większą popularność. Możliwości, jakie oferują, pozwalają na korzystanie z roweru nie tylko w celach rekreacyjnych, ale również umożliwiają dotarcie do pracy, dzięki rozbudowanej sieci stacji i niskich kosztach użytkowania. Coraz więcej mieszkańców miast dostrzega liczne zalety korzystania z tego rodzaju transportu i decyduje się na zmianę swoich zachowań komunikacyjnych. Celem poniższego artykułu jest zapoznanie czytelników z funkcjonowaniem automatycznego systemu wypożyczalni rowerów miejskich City by Bike w Katowicach, który powstał w 2015 roku. W początkowej części artykułu przedstawiono ogólną charakterystykę systemu rowerów miejskich, a także szczegółowo omówiono zasady działania rowerów miejskich w Katowicach i zaprezentowano obszar występowania stacji rowerów miejskich. Kolejna część artykułu skupia się na zmianach, jakie wprowadzone zostaną w roku 2019 oraz planach rozwoju w przyszłości. Wykazano również związki systemu rowerów miejskich w Katowicach z systemami w innych miastach w okolicy, które dodatkowo pozwalają na zwiększenie zainteresowania tym rodzajem komunikacji. Przeprowadzony przegląd literatury i analiza danych pozwolił na ocenę istniejącego systemu, przedstawienie szans rozwoju w Katowicach, a także Górnośląsko-Zagłębiowskiej Metropolii. Rosnące zainteresowanie tego typu systemem wskazuje na konieczność jego stałej rozbudowy i ulepszania.
The concept of city bikes sharing has been around the world since 1965 and has been changing over the years. Currently, city bike systems are gaining more and more popularity. The possibilities they offer allow to use the bike not only for recreational, but also enable to get to work through the extensive network of stations and low costs of use. More and more city residents see many advantages of using this type of transport and decide to change their communication behavior. The aim of the article is to inform about operation of the City by Bike in Katowice, which was launched in 2015. First part of the article presents the general characteristics of the bike sharing system and detailed principles of operation of city bikes in Katowice and the areas where city bike stations are located. Next part of the article focuses on changes to be introduced in 2019 and future development plans. Connections between the city bike system in Katowice and systems in the neighbouring cities – allowing to increase an interest in this type of communication – have been also presented in the article.The literature review and data analysis have resulted with the possibility to evaluate the existing system, as well as to present development opportunities in Katowice and the GZM Metropolis. The growing interest in this type of system indicates the necessity of its constant development and improvement.
