The article shows, in detail, the interrelation which occurs between the parish religious education and school teaching of religion in Poland. The author takes up a reflection 25 years after bringing religion back to schools. Starting from establishments of religious educationdocuments of the Catholic and Polish Church, he points at the complementarity of these two forms of the religious education service of the word. It is also related to the possibility of carrying three functions of religious education out - the teaching, the upbringing and acquainting both in the parish, and at the school. In conclusion, the author formulates conclusions which are a response to the complementarity challenge of the parish catechesis and religious education in Poland. In the special way he stresses out the substantial role of liturgy and its connections with the religious education.

The article indicates ontological bases which are at the ground of the religious education in Christianity. The touched problem considers issues of Christian anthropology and concerns the category of the person. The definite concept of the man forejudges applied pedagogic manners, that is the way of the approach to the pupil. The characteristics of the person indicates that for purposes of efforts of the man is his salvation, that in Christianity is the achievement of Communion with God, therefore the Christian religious education in its message points soteriological goals and measures. However nowadays, pluralism and multiculturalism and conditions of the public school extort using such type of the religious education which on one hand will accomplish ontological premises of Christian anthropology and on the other hand requirements of the present day.

Opis:
Electronic aggression, a phenomenon currently taking place among young people, poses difficult tasks for teachers. They relate to primary, secondary and tertiary prevention in theschool environment and require the cooperation of headmasters, teachers and parents. The analyses undertaken in the study present the specificity of the activities of the religious education teacher aimed at preventing aggression among young people. Firstly, the scope of meaning of ‘electronic aggression’ has been given. Next, the multidimensionality of electronic aggression among the young has been pointed out. In this context, preventive measures taken by the religious education teacher in the school environment have been described. Aims, tasks and rules, as well as forms, methods and means necessary for the prevention of electronic aggression among young people have been brought to attention. The cooperation of the religious education teacher with the headmaster, parents and other teachers in carrying out the tasks set by the school prevention programme has been considered significant.

The subject of the article is the issue of the youth religious education at vocational secondary schools after the school reform which was carried out in Poland after 1932. There are two main lines considered in this article, namely; transfer of the truths of faith and moral and religious upbringing. The first one is connected with passing on the dogmatic and ethical contents, and the other one is connected with the religious formation. In this way the teaching program of religion shows students theoretical and practical hints which influence the quality of the Christian life. It does not only concern shaping the Catholic worldview and motivating to practice the faith, but also upbringing to fulfilling jobs with the respect of law and the Christian values.

Moskiewska Akademia Duchowna od początku swego istnienia, datowanego na drugą połowę XVII wieku, była jedną z ważniejszych instytucji oświatowych Rosji carskiej. W procesie przeobrażeń, mających zarówno charakter czysto organizacyjny (zmiana miejsca usytuowania), jak też statutowy (odrzucenie greckiego charakteru nadanego przez założycieli oraz przejście ku kształceniu i wychowaniu w duchu rosyjskiej myśli religijnej), wypracowano teologiczny charakter placówki dydaktycznej, skupiającej się nie tylko na nauce, ale także na życiu religijnym swoich wychowanków. Kres prężnemu rozwojowi szkoły stanowiły wydarzenia z lat 1905-1917. Tak zwana pierwsza rewolucja rosyjska, zapoczątkowana wydarzeniami „krwawej niedzieli”, czasowo przyczyniła się do dezorganizacji Akademii. Druga natomiast, datowana na rok 1917, definitywnie położyła kres blisko dwustuletniej, bogatej historii uczelni.
Moscow Theological Academy, since the beginning of its existence, dating from the second half of XVII century, was one of the most important educational institutions of Russian Empire. Processes of transformation – organizational (changing of location) and statutory (rejection of the Greek character given by the founders and starting learning and educating in the spirit of Russian religious thought) – developed orthodox nature of teaching institutions, focusing not only on learning but also on the religious life of their pupils. The events of the years 1905-1917 brought the end of the dynamic development of the school. The so-called first Russian revolution, initiated by „the Bloody Sunday”, temporarily contributed to the disorganization of the Academy. The second one, dated on 1917, finally ended the rich history of the university.

In the beginning of socio-political transformation of Poland the confessional nature of Religious Education was one of the demands presented not only by the Church, but also by society. In order to understand better the arguments supporting Religious Education at preschools in Poland, this article will provide kindergarten teachers’ opinions on the basis of a research survey, which was conducted among preschool teachers from Malopolska and Silesia region in April and May 2018.

The need to enliven the catechesis of the elderly and to take advantage of the richness and experience of this social group resounds significantly in contemporary catechetical reflection. This is mainly due to the fact that society, and thus the community of the Church, is affected by the problem of the progressive aging of its members. In the catechetical dimension, it becomes important, among other things, to take appropriate steps to adapt the catechesis of the elderly in terms of appropriate content, tools and structure. The suggested specific educational offer should stimulate and encourage to verify and deepen one’s own religious knowledge, help answer nagging questions, especially existential ones in an eschatological perspective, and find a place and role of the elderly in the community of believers. In this study, the notion of old age and aging in the social and theological aspect was first analyzed, then the basic assumptions of neuroandragogy and the most important aspects of catechesis of the elderly were presented. The next part featured practical implications for the use of selected elements of andragogy and neuroandragogy in catechesis and the broadly understood activity and religious education of the elderly.
We współczesnej refleksji katechetycznej w sposób znaczący wybrzmiewa potrzeba ożywienia katechezy osób starszych, jak i skorzystania z bogactwa i doświadczenia tejże grupy społecznej. Wynika to przede wszystkim z faktu, iż społeczeństwo, a tym samym wspólnotę Kościoła dotyka problem postępującego starzenia się jej członków. W wymiarze katechetycznym istotnym staje się między innymi podjęcie odpowiednich kroków w celu dostosowania katechezy osób starszych pod względem odpowiednich treści, narzędzi oraz struktury. Proponowana swoista oferta edukacyjna powinna pobudzić oraz zachęcić do weryfikacji i pogłębienia własnej wiedzy religijnej, pomóc odpowiedzieć na nurtujące pytania, zwłaszcza natury egzystencjalnej w perspektywie eschatologicznej, a także odnaleźć miejsce i rolę osób starszych we wspólnocie wierzących. W niniejszym opracowaniu, analizie poddano najpierw pojęcie starości i starzenia się w ujęciu społecznym i teologicznym, następnie przedstawiono podstawowe założenia neuroandragogiki oraz najistotniejsze aspekty katechezy osób starszych. W kolejnej części zaprezentowane zostały implikacje praktyczne dla wykorzystania wybranych elementów andragogiki i neuroandragogiki w katechezie oraz szeroko pojętej aktywności i edukacji religijnej osób starszych.

Congregation for Catholic Education in Circular letter to the Presidents of Bishops’ conferences on religious education in schools (May 5, 2009) beholds the relationship between educational activity of the Church, which is the integral part of its mission, and decisions and wishes of the nations, which take care of the formation and development of a just society based on the respect for the human rights. In this formula can be found two fixed reference points of the Church regarding its mission in the modern world. The first is the permanent protection of the religious freedom and teaching religion, which are the part of the human rights. The second is the perception of the religious education as the part of the wider process of young people education. The consequence of such approach is the possibility of building the civil society based on religious and ethical values.

The term of shepherd’s love was discussed in this article in the context of a priest’s mission as the teacher of religious education. The shepherd’s love understood as the Holy Ghost’s gift is the source of the priest’s love towards Jesus Christ, Church and its community as well as towards the school society. Only the priest who is in love with the Eucharist can cherish the presbytery he belongs to and the people to whom he is appointed as their shepherd and teacher. The shepherd’s love is the source of the priest's holiness and the fruit of a prayer and a gift which the priest devotes to children and teenagers as their teacher of religious education. It lies in the bases of the priest's formation and is a very essential element of the process of catechizing the younger generation.

This article presents educational issues in the Polish People’s Republic as presented in Primate Stefan Wyszyński’s personal notes (called pro memoria) from 1961. The major source of the study is a Stefan Wyszyński manuscript stored in the Archdiocese Archive in Gniezno. In the first part of the study, an outline of research into education in the Polish People’s Republic is presented, together with methodological issues. The second part is devoted to a brief summary of education against the ideological pressure exerted by the Communist authorities by 1961. The third part presents the characteristics of the source representing the basis of the study. The fourth part presents (in the light of Primate Wyszyński’s notes) the act on the development of education and upbringing from 1961, care and education institutions of the Roman Catholic Church, kindergartens managed by nuns and parishes, religious education, church secondary education, religious instruction, lower seminaries, higher seminaries, tertiary education and academic religious leadership.

In many countries religious education takes place within the public education system. At the same time there is a debate on legitimacy of such a solution. Increasingly, there are voices calling for the removal of religious education from public schools. Particular pressure is exerted on the confessional model of religious education, which taught religious truths of faith, liturgy, moral principles, of one religious community. This article is a polemic with these opinions. It shows the arguments for the presence of Catholic religious education in public school. These arguments relate primarily to non-religious function of teaching religion, such as the transmission of objective knowledge, forming social attitudes and help in finding the meaning of life. Even with these reasons, Catholic religious education should take place in the state education system.
W wielu krajach świata edukacja religijna odbywa się w ramach państwowego systemu oświaty. Jednocześnie toczy się dyskusja nad zasadnością takiego rozwiązania. Coraz częściej pojawiają się głosy wzywające do usunięcia nauczania religii z państwowej szkoły. Szczególna presja wywierana jest na konfesyjny model edukacji religijnej, w którym przedmiotem nauczania religii są prawdy wiary, liturgia, zasady moralne jednej wspólnoty wyznaniowej. W tym artykule podjęto polemikę z tymi opiniami i ukazano argumenty przemawiające za obecnością katolickiej edukacji religijnej w szkole publicznej. Zastosowana argumentacja dotyczyła przede wszystkim pozareligijnych funkcji, jakie pełni nauczanie religii. Analizie poddano przekaz obiektywnej wiedzy, formowanie postaw społecznych oraz pomoc w odnalezieniu sensu życia. Wykazano, że choćby z tych względów, katolicka edukacja religijna powinna mieć miejsce w państwowym systemie oświaty.

W Kościele istnieje ciągła potrzeba głoszenia Ewangelii młodym. Kościół pragnie dobrze rozeznać i zidentyfikować najbardziej skuteczne sposoby głoszenia Dobrej Nowiny kolejnym pokoleniom. Od starożytności w Kościele są obecne różne modele ewangelizacji. Ewangelizacja ta zawsze czerpała ze słowa Bożego. Współczesny ewangelizator powinien najpierw rozeznać sytuację, w której przychodzi mu zwiastować słowo Boże i posłużyć się najbardziej odpowiednią strategią ewangelizacji. Te strategie są możliwe do wykorzystania w katechezie. Dziś katecheza korzysta z wielu metod ewangelizacji. Często spotyka się w niej metody wypracowane w Szkole Nowej Ewangelizacji. To staje się szansą dotarcia z orędziem Ewangelii do nowych pokoleń i rozbudzenia w nich radości wiary.
There is a constant need to preach the Gospel to young people in the Church. The Church wants to realize and identify the most effective ways to proclaim the Good News to the next generations. The lesson of religious education can become a place to preach the Good News. Evangelizers can revitalize the school environment through such content, such methods and such dynamics that are inspired by the Spirit of God. Various models of evangelization have been present in the Church since ancient times. This evangelization has always derived from the Word of God. The contemporary evangelist should first realize the situation in which he announces the Word of God and later should use the most appropriate strategy of evangelization. These strategies may be used during catechesis / religious education. Nowadays, it uses many methods of evangelization. One may often encounter the methods developed at the School of New Evangelization. This becomes an opportunity to deliver the message of the Gospel to the new generations and to awaken the joy of faith in them.

The Catechism of the Catholic Church

In the period of the second half of the 20th century we can observe the growing interest of local churches in conducting their teaching in a modern form of Catechism for adult people. The subject of this article is the idea of modern Catechism in practical life of the Lutheran Church and its realization in some contexts. The first and still most important book in this line is the German Evangelischer Erwachsenenkatechismus. Kursbuch des Glaubens (EEK), first edition in 1975. The monumental work (exactly 1356 pages) was an effect of cooperation of several theologian and religious pedagogues and it was done of the will of Federation of German Lutheran Churches (VELKD) after 6 years of activity. In the year 2010 the 8th renewed edition of this monumental opus was published. The catechism was translated in many languages throughout the world. This work could be a proper pattern for the Polish original edition that is very expected in the community of the Lutheran Church in Poland. The article also discusses some other concepts of the adult catechism within the German context (for example some “small or compact cate-chisms”) as well as the Roman Catholic Catechism of 1992. The latter is one of the most important theological work of the end of the 20th century being much more precise than the German EEK. The most important postulate of this paper is to show the lack of such work in the Polish context and to appeal to the Polish Lutheran Synod to start working on the edition of the Polish Lutheran Catechism for Adults.
