Opis:: The statistical process is a multifaceted, socially immersed research process. Statistics as a research activity is-and statistics as a product are-influenced by a variety of factors, covariates, and participants/stakeholders in data generation, analysis, dissemination and use. The aim of this paper is to identify and systematize key elements of the socio-cognitive status of statistics and of relations between statistics and society. To this end, a conceptual meta-model of the statistical process, involving an interwoven “logic of method” and “logic of action,” provides a framework for the exploration of statistics from the perspective of sociology. Given that social, cultural, and political conditions affect the quality of statistical products and the status of statistical institutions, sociological study seems especially well suited to dealing with the complexity of the issues involved. To be successful, however, advances in the sociology of statistics are also desirable.

Opis:: This article concerns a big challenge of public statistics, which is to find a balance between the ability to meet the ever growing data users’ needs and maintaining high standards of quality of data available. The starting point for reflections on this area is to define widely understood standards of quality statistics, from the perspective of both data producers and users. The authors of the article refer to key documents governing the system of statistics quality at an international level, as well as in Poland. They also emphasize the need to exchange information on quality between data producers and users as well as the opportunities that dialogue creates to the process of improving statistical products. At the same time, they point out that high quality of statistical data, defined by such attributes as: relevance, accuracy, timeliness and punctuality, accessibility and clarity, comparability and coherence gives users the opportunity for an accurate, reliable and in-depth data analysis. Against this background, the article includes examples of the antinomy that may occur in the process of developing individual attributes. In conclusion, the authors emphasize an international aspect of statistical quality, continuity of processes aimed at improving quality and an important role of data users in those processes.

We will move closer basic documents developed for the completion of collaborative researches. We will discuss the most important European examination in social statistics: examining incomes and the living conditions.

Opis:: The article discusses the theoretical principles of statistical research with regard to the national market of logistics services during wartime. The system of statistical indicators of the research of the logistics services market is structured through the allocation of separate blocks of indicators by priority of their estimation in war conditions. The market of logistics services of Ukraine is characterised by selected blocks of indicators. The paper identifies the main structural changes that occurred due to the hostilities faced by the country. Moreover, the authors determine the main factors influencing the functioning of the analysed market during war, as the statistical study of these factors is considered necessary for the transformation and development of logistics services. It is substantiated that taking into account such statistical indicators as the level and availability of logistics infrastructure, security, the human factor and changes in legislation are likely to result in a new alternative direction of logistics routes and contribute to the development of the logistics services market in general. The authors proposed the construction of a centralised electronic service (or several services) with the purpose of consolidating information about the logistics infrastructure. The software system should offer the option of an operational interactive visualisation.

Opis:: W artykule przedstawiono w zarysie obszary zastosowań metod statystycznych w procesach zarządzania, wskazując na okoliczności sprzyjające wdrażaniu tych metod w firmach oraz wypunktowano istniejące zagrożenia i trudności. Scharakteryzowano dostępne na rynku komercyjnym oprogramowanie przeznaczone do analiz statystycznych i na tym tle omówiono dwa użyteczne narzędzia informatyczne opracowane na Politechnice Warszawskiej.
Areas of application of statistical methods in the management processes were outlined. Circumstances that foster introduction of those methods into business practice, including external factors and availability of appropriate IT infrastructure in a company, were indicated. Existing threats and difficulties associated with quality of the process input data and skills of the involved staff were pointed out. Statistical analysis software commercially available in the market was briefly characterized covering both universal and special purpose software examples. In the light of that review, two original information technology tools developed at the Warsaw University of Technology were discussed. The developed tools are open source VBA projects working in the MS Excel environment, which can be introduced to the business practice with low cost and effort, and additionally they can be easily tailored to the requirements of the particular application by the user.

Opis:: The effectiveness and the efﬁciency of the pension system is a problem that is not frequently mentioned in scientiﬁc writing, especially in its praxeological context. The objective of the article is to present the concept of the praxeological approach to assessment of the pension system. The ﬁrst part of the article presents the objectives of the pension system. In the second part the praxeological approach to the assessment of pension system is discussed. The third part includes the deﬁnition and the multidimensional characteristics of the effectiveness and efﬁciency of the pension system. In the fourth part the concept of the measurement of effectiveness and efﬁciency with the use of multidimensional statistical analysis is proposed.
