The paper discusses the relationship of the global responsibility crisis with values. The author shows that the source of this crisis is the loss of perspective defined by universal values. She uses the European concept of creativity and the Chinese concept of crisis /wej-dżi/ to show the ethical dimension of the crisis. She draws attention to the usefulness of the crisis for creative crossing the limits of what is possible as set by the current situation.
W artykule omówiono związek kryzysu globalnej odpowiedzialności z wartościami. Autorka pokazuje, że źródłem tego kryzysu jest utrata perspektywy określonej przez uniwersalne wartości. Korzystając przy tym z europejskiego pojęcia twórczości i z chińskiego pojęcia kryzysu wej-dżi, odsłania etyczny wymiar kryzysu. Zwraca uwagę na przydatność kryzysu do twórczego przekraczania granic możliwości wyznaczonych przez aktualną sytuację.

The subject of the article is Peter Singer’s „ethics of globalization” presented in his book of year 2002 One World. The Ethics of Globalization – translated into Polish language in year 2006 – towards contemporary proposals of dealing with ethical problems of globalization. Singer’s reflection on global problems solutions, eg. climate changes, disparities of economic development, etc. brings many valuable observations on moral condition of the contemporary world. In terms of normative sphere, it appears to be profoundly less constructive. The concept of the global government as an ethical subject, which he develops at the end of his observations, does not take into account negative experiences of UN. In such aspect, it constitutes a step back towards alterglobalistic concepts, which did not create satisfying theories of a new social ethical subject, but put emphasis on a problem of forceless and seeming actions of contemporary political elites. Peter Singer seems to avoid noticing such problem.

The article addresses the issue of ethics of global responsibility approached from a new and cosmocentric point of view. Philosophical considerations enriched by current natural knowledge allow us to look at the world from a cosmic perspective and at human nature from the evolutionary point of view which should be taken into account when defining the scope of our moral obligations. Questions concerning the human moral condition and the scope of human responsibility and the impact of that responsibility on human behavior in relation to the Earth and the Universe gain a distinctive meaning in the fight against various global perils and problems. The paper provides a justification of why contemporary ethics requires reformulation and such a complementing that would broaden the scope of moral responsibility so it would include not only the current and future generations and other species, but also the whole living community of the earth. Responsibility is treated here as a link that is ontic, evolutionarily shaped and characteristic for the homo sapiens species, which connects the human beings with the surrounding world. Such a conceived responsibility is the foundation of the sense of planetary solidarity and provides reasons to include the whole cosmic ecosphere into the scope of moral care.

The concept of global education is based on the recognition of the world as a network of interdependencies and on realizing the fact that the current direction of the development of civilization is leading to environmental and humanitarian disaster. On the other hand, there is a belief that there is still a chance to change this state of affairs by means of education. The purpose of education is recognized as not only a transfer of knowledge, but also as a transfer of morals that are able to generate a shift in attitudes. In order to strengthen the impact of the global education project, it is necessary to provide a coherent description and axiological analysis of the values behind it. In the paper, we argue that ethicists should work on building philosophical arguments for the development and implementation of global education programs. We argue further that such a philosophical framework should be based on the ideas of new humanism (proposed by Aurelio Peccei) and global responsibility (formulated by Hans Jonas).

The question of social justice is a very important element of global education. Social justice refers to the equity principle in relations between large social groups; it concerns social classes and groups, nations, and faith groups. It encompasses the past, the present and the future. Due to the fact that global education is not merely a description but also an evaluation proposition, it is a scientific discipline about social justice. It has always been so, because no programme of economic, political or ideological expansion could exist without axiology. The problem of global education today is not limited to creating a programme adequate to the needs; it should also include a revision of its current content.
Zagadnienie sprawiedliwości społecznej stanowi bardzo istotny element edukacji globalnej. Sprawiedliwość społeczna, dotycząca zasady równości w relacjach między wielkimi grupami społecznymi, dotyczy klas i warstw, narodów oraz grup wyznaniowych. Obejmuje ona zarówno przeszłość, teraźniejszość, jak i przyszłość. Ponieważ edukacja globalna nie jest jedynie opisem, ale również propozycją wartościowania, jest więc także nauką o sprawiedliwości społecznej. I zawsze nią była, gdyż żaden program ekspansji gospodarczej, politycznej czy ideowej nie mógł funkcjonować bez aksjologii. Problemem dzisiejszej edukacji globalnej jest nie tylko stworzenie adekwatnego do potrzeb, programu, lecz także rewizja dotychczasowych treści programowych.

The article is an analysis of morality and justice in light of the views of such thinkers as M. Blondel, J. Ortega y Gasset, E. Chiavacci and S. Privitera. In contemporary public life, new social conflicts are generated by a growing neutralization with respect to the formation of conscience and progressive relativization of all values. It is very difficult to clearly identify what justice is today and the morality that should apply to relationships. A. Honneth and M. Hrubec emphasize the need for the so-called good life, which should be based on an attitude of appreciation and respect, and accepting the other person as equal to other people. Only in this way is it possible to remove the dominance of stronger individuals and sensitize communities to the need to build global responsibility.

The involvement of responsibility is multifaceted and interdisciplinary. Despite a certain universalization and uniformity visible in global interpersonal communication, several current processes of involvement stimulate and intensify it. Societies, nations, social interests, reason of state, culture and worldviews are subject to dispersion, which is why the hybridity of the world and its dwellers that reproduce are also responsible for the “privatization” of the futures (plural form), thus causing its dispersion. Will global responsibility be seen as an expression of global rationality that guarantees survival? It is important that the public sphere does not become, in times when commercialism prevails, privatized and “consumed” and that it would “pay off” to fight for that which can be called the global public good. Paradoxically, the ethics of responsibility can pay off, although not equally for all. Nevertheless, it remains a response to the challenges of the future, threats and risk.
Uwikłania odpowiedzialności są wielostronne i wielodziedzinowe. Pomimo pewnej uniwersalizacji oraz uniformizacji, widocznych chociażby w globalnej komunikacji międzyludzkiej, wiele obecnych procesów uwikłania te stymuluje i wzmaga. Rozproszeniu ulegają społeczności, narody, społeczne interesy, racje stanu, kultury, światopoglądy; dlatego hybrydowość świata i zaludniających go mieszkańców wikła także i odpowiedzialność w „prywatyzację” przyszłości (w liczbie mnogiej) powodując jej rozproszenie. Czy globalna odpowiedzialność będzie postrzegana jako wyraz racjonalności globalnej, zapewniającej przetrwanie? Bardzo ważne, by sfera publiczna nie została – w czasach przewagi komercji – sprywatyzowana i „skonsumowana” i by „opłacało się” walczyć o to, co nazwać można globalnym dobrem publicznym. Paradoksalnie etyka odpowiedzialności może się opłacać, choć nie po równo dla wszystkich. Niemniej pozostaje ona odpowiedzią na wyzwania przyszłości, zagrożenia i ryzyka.

W tekście podjęta została próba odczytania ewolucji stanowiska europejskiej opinii publicznej wobec uchodźców jako wyrazu narastających problemów wewnętrznych samej Europy. Ukazuje ona kompromitację tradycyjnej, opartej na współczuciu, etyki Zygmunta Baumana i Alaina Finkelkrauta oraz ujawnia deficyt myślenia w kategoriach etyki odpowiedzialności globalnej rozwijanej po drugiej wojnie światowej, ale zwalczanej przez konserwatywny intelektualny establishment.
The paper provides an attempt to elucidate the evolution of the European public’s position towards refugees as a manifestation of growing internal problems of Europe itself. It shows a fiasco of the traditional, compassion based ethics of Zygmunt Bauman and Alan Finkelkraut as well as it reveals the deficits of thinking in categories of ethics of global responsibility developed after the Second World War but fought by the conservative intellectual establishment.

Most people, especially in South Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa, suffer and die from lack of food, shelter, and medical care, whereas other people in rich countries are extremely well-off. Because of the globalization process neither individuals nor governments can claim to be unaware of what is happening in the Third World. In this paper I defend the claim that, since we are living in a “global village”, we have greater moral responsibility for poverty. Thus, our moral responsibility is less limited than it usually seems to be. However, we do not have to be extremely impartial, which is recommended by utilitarianism (Garrett Hardin, Peter Singer), concentrating only on the consequences of action and its utility (agent-neutral evaluation). Yet, what we can include in our moral evaluation of poverty are human rights and an individual point of view, which are defended by Amartya Sen’s capability approach and Thomist framework (agent-relative evaluation).

The aim of this article is to present the results of bibliometric analysis of the scientific studies on the issue of corporate social responsibility (CSR) reporting. The analysis allowed us to identify the main territories in the context of the above issues. For the purposes of the analysis were used bibliometric analysis of the data available in the Web of Science database, the analysis of trends in terms of number of publications, the method of co- -occurrence of words and a cluster analysis method and also mind mapping. In the analysis was used software VOSviewer. The analysis led to extending the area of research relating to the issue of corporate social responsibility reporting to the following sub-areas: corporate social responsibility, disclosure of non-financial information, integrated reporting, the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards.

Autor podkreśla konieczność wypracowania szerszej demokratycznej kontroli nad zasobami finansowymi przy jednoczesnym ograniczeniu uzależnienia od kapitalizmu ściśle finansowego takich dziedzin, jak najważniejsze rodzaje usług ubezpieczenia społeczne i ochrona środowiska naturalnego.
In his article, Christopher Arup analyses the impacts of different studies on the processes of shaping regulations, governance and responsibilities of corporations and their influence on the world's economy prior to and during the recent global financial crisis. The author emphasizes the need for a greater democratic control of financial resources and, at the same time, calls for less dependence on finance capitalism in the fields of essential services, social security and environment protection.

The issue of citizenship has been one of the main topics of political thinking since antiquity, when its origins were significantly shaped by classical philosophers, whose ideas are also important for modern thinking. Gradually, with the intensification of globalization many new conceptualizations of the classical concept of citizenship were formulated to address global challenges. These shift away from the basic view of the interconnectedness of citizenship with a specific territory and give humans a wider, global identity with an associated appeal to global responsibility. One such concept is environmental citizenship. This article is aimed at examining the historical development of citizenship, particularly in its republican and liberal versions, and its conceptualisation in the context of environmental problems that overcome national borders. The demands on citizens must be adapted to this reality. This article highlights the growing potential of environmental citizenship as one of the possible key factors for achieving a more sustainable world, which however requires the active involvement of nation-states.
