Opis:: Big impact on the life of Church and on the public and cultural sphere has the formation of the new forms of religious life in Europe of the twelfth and thirteenth-century. So it was in Poland in the case of the monasteries of Poor Clares, especially Poor Clares in Stary Sacz which developed the rich musical life. Helpful in this regard were the structure of monastic life with various functions and ministries. Among them we find many serving liturgical music and not only and assigned to sisters of a special musical abilities. Moreover, sisters have led regular singing practice; learned new songs and even composed themselves. Inside the monastery acted religious band, for which the instruments were purchased; in a different period the monastic band functioned, employing also secular musicians, in addition to constantly employed organists. Sisters maintained also close contacts with the clergy who visiting the monastery brought ordered by Sisters liturgical books, among them a musical. In this way library of the monastery enriched by the book, which today are relics of the highest quality and sources of the specialized research on the culture of the monastery of Stary Sacz.

Opis:: From 14 June to 25 August 2013, the “Dawna Synagoga” Gallery, one of the branches of the District Museum in Nowy Sącz, hosted the exhibition "St Kinga’s Cultural Heritage". The purpose of this exhibition was to show a wider audience the artistic heritage of the Poor Clares Monastery in Stary Sącz. Most of the exhibits were presented outside the monastery walls for the first time. Among them were items belonging to St Kinga, valuable works of handicraft, the oldest written texts, as well as sculptures and paintings of high artistic value from the 15th to the 18th centuries.

Opis:: This article is an attempt to determine the function of discovered a small collection of 19 pieces of music, owned by Friedrich Wilhelm Jüncke (1842-1897) stored in the Library of the Stanisław Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdańsk. In view of the little knowledge about the life of this merchant from Gdańsk, and then from Sopot, the discovery that, apart from numismatic items and so-called Gdansk door, he also collected musical items was a big surprise for the employees of the current Art Inkubator, an institution that, since 2019, has been taking care of e.g. Jüncke's villa and cherishes the memory of the former owner of the building. The musical and bibliological characteristics of the music prints showed that Jüncke collected them rather for collecting purposes than for utilitarian purposes. Provenance entries, which were found in two prints proving that Jüncke was not the first owner. In addition, the entries found in the next five prints may prove that after Jüncke's death some items were in the possession of the Gdańsk NSDAP, and after the war they ended up in the Academy of Music Library. Undoubtedly, finding this small book collection contributes to supplementing the information about Jüncke, and - indirectly - to expanding knowledge about the musical culture of Gdańsk in the period 1939-1945.
