Opis:: Niniejszy artykuł obiera za przedmiot nieczęsto podejmowaną w polskiej literaturze problematykę korytarzy przesyłowych w Stanach Zjednoczonych Ameryki jako jeden z elementów mających zapewnić szeroko pojęte bezpieczeństwo energetyczne. Korytarz przesyłowy to wyodrębniony normatywnie teren, o specjalnym statusie prawnym, z istnieniem niekiedy zamanifestowanym w sposób faktyczny, na którym mają być albo już są posadowione urządzenia przesyłowe, obarczony specyficznymi funkcjami, definiującymi istotę korytarza. Autor wychodzi od rozważań nad kwestią dostępu przedsiębiorców przesyłowych do nieruchomości obarczonej urządzeniami przesyłowymi, następnie przechodzi do wskazania podziału na różne rodzaje korytarzy przesyłowych i dokonuje ich szczegółowego omówienia wraz z przedstawieniem refleksji nad ich wzajemnymi relacjami.
The present article chooses as its subject a somewhat unpopular, at least in Polish literature, matter of transmission corridors in the United States of America, as one of the elements that are to ensure widely understood energy security. A transmission corridor is a normatively isolated terrain of a special legal status (with its existence sometimes manifested in a factual way), where transmission infrastructure are, or will be located, which plays specific roles that define the very essence of the corridor. The author begins with the deliberation on the issue of the right of transmission entrepreneurs to use the land (covered by the transmission infrastructure ), presents the division between different types of transmission corridors and gives their detailed description as well as discusses their relations.

Opis:: Laser power transmission (LPT) is considered a potentially efficient way for power delivery, especially in long-distance wireless applications and harsh hazardous environmental conditions. In contrast to other wireless power transmission (WPT) methods, LPT has many advantages such as lower device size, focused transmitting direction and high power density. With the development of technology, LPT has been widely adopted in several fields. In conservative industries, the utilisation of LPT can resolve the limitation problem in a wired connection. The adverse influence of electromagnetic interference (EMI) concerning application and high-temperature fields can be reduced. This paper will give a simple review of LPT and demonstrate the basic concept of a photoelectric emitter, transmission channel and receiver material. Based on the recent research about diode laser beam combining technology and high-efficiency multi-junction photovoltaics (PV) materials, the advised LPT devices for simple application as laser power motor will be simply discussed.

Opis:: The study concentrated on slip phenomenon occurring at hydrokinetic converter in passenger car transmission system. Optimization of modern automatic transmission systems aims, on the one hand, to further increase the comfort of use, and on the other hand to improve the efficiency and reliability operation of individual components, in such a way as to ultimately result in lowering fuel consumption and also harmful emissions. One of the important factors affecting the mentioned transmissions properties as a whole system is the slip phenomenon occurring between the pump and the hydrokinetic converter turbine. The study presents the results of research on ZF 4HP20 and Fuji Hyper M6 gearboxes operating in vehicle transmission systems. The tests were carried out using the MAHA MSR 500 chassis dynamometer during driving at chosen test cycles. The research covered the transmission systems operating according to selected control algorithms affecting not only the gear shifting strategy but also the operation of the lock up clutch causing the transmissions slip values. As shown by the conducted research, the algorithm controlling the operation of the torque converter can have a significant influence on their operating indexes. The conducted analyses indicate the possibilities of improving the transmission operating indexes, especially in urban driving cycles.

Opis:: The possibility of using MIMO (multiple input multiple output) technique, which is well-known from radio communications, has been experimentally shown at the optical domain. A successful 2-channel transmission beyond the baseband of 4.4 km long OM2 grade 50 μm core multimode (MM) fiber has been demonstrated. Total throughput of 400 Mbit/s has been obtained. Incoherent detection of the light signals at the receiver has been used.

Opis:: This article is based on research done during the author’s PhD at Cardiff University, UK. A prototype of a novel wireless energy transmission system aimed at the use with wireless aircraft structural health monitoring (SHM) sensor nodes is described. The system uses ultrasonic guided plate waves (Lamb waves) to transmit energy along an aluminium plate, similar to those used in aircraft structures. Three types of piezoelectric transducers generating and receiving the ultrasonic vibration were compared. The Smart Material MFC M8528-P1 was found to achieve the best performance, allowing the transmission of 17 mW across a 54 cm distance, while being driven with a 20 V signal. Laser vibrometer imaging and LISA software simulation of the Lamb wave propagation in the experimental plate were also performed. Based on these, ideas for a further development of the system were proposed.

Opis:: Transmission pipelines for gas have large a diameter and high pressure. Gas pump stations are built along the pipeline and their main task is to increase gas pressure to the technologically and economically justified level. Determining the exact value of pressure drop in the pipeline is the major problem in gas pipeline transport. The drop of pressure is a result of external and internal frict ion. The pressure can be lowered in the gas pipeline but this depends on the geometric parameters of the latter, i.e. le ngth, inner diameter, full-length profile, quantity and temperature of transmitted gas and its thermodynamic properties. The technical condition of the transmission pipe- line and the character of gas flow in the pipeline have a great infl uence on the pressure variations. A number of mathematical models focus on determining the drop of pressure in a pipeline section. The value of deviations of calculated values from the real data in each mode l strictly depends on the conditions in the pipeline. The aim of this paper is an analysis of applicability ranges of various equations for pressure losses in transmission pipelines.

Opis:: Natural gas is one of the major fuels covering home demand for energy. Natural gas consumption has been observed to systematically increase over the last five years. Intensive works are conducted on the development of the national gas network leading to the diversifi cation of directions and sources of blue gas. Natural gas consists of various components. Its composition depends on the source of origin and has a decisive influence on thermodynamic and hydraulic properties. The content of heavy hydrocarbon gases increases the calorific value of the gaseous fuel, whereas the high content of inorganic components lowers the amount of energy obtained in the course of natural gas combustion, and environmentally hazardous chemical compounds are formed. As far as gas transport is concerned, too high content of heavy hydrocarbon gases (propane, butane, pentane) is disadvantageous. In high pressure conditions the C3-C5 class gases change to a liquid phase. This results in the change of the calorific value, lower hydraulic efficiency of the pipeline diameter and potentially faster corrosion processes on the inner surface of the pipeline.This paper is aimed at presenting results of changes of natural gas composition in a function of distance at which the fuel is transported. The respective analyses will be conducted with the use of analytical methods and commercial pipeline simulators.

Opis:: The present paper describes the studies of vibroactivity of FEM models of gear transmission housings. The FEM model of the gear transmission housing installed on a laboratory stand was modified in order to reduce its vibration level. Two different variants of the housing ribbing are presented herein. The models were subjected to load exerted by dynamic forces in bearing nodes, determined by means of a dynamic model of a gear transmission in a powertrain. The measure of vibroactivity v2avg as defmed in the publication, was used for the quantitative comparisons. The studies performed proved that the models, depending on the location of ribbing, exhibit various vibroactivity rates, usually lower than those achieved in the basic, unribbed models. That was proven by analyses carried out for various load rates applied to the transmission. Furthermore, the paper presents the results of studies of sensitivity of FEM models o f gear transmission housings to excitation by dynamic forces in the meshing, depending on the precision of gears. The studies confirmed an increase in vibroactivity of toothed gear housings along with an increase of gear inaccuracies.

Opis:: This study was designed to assess the degree of risk of bacterial transmission from physician to patient through hands, equipment and enclosing surfaces (shoe soles). Material and methods. The study was conducted in the Clinical Department of General and Oncological Surgery UM in Łódź. In days 16.10.2013, 17.10.2013, 18.10.2013 there were done swabs from hands, stethoscopes and soles of shoes from the same group of physicians before and after doctor's rounds. The presence of alert-pathogens in swabs was regarded as positive result. Results. Isolates included mostly aerobic saprophytic bacilli and Staphylococcus species coagulase-negative. There were detected a singly cases of Acinetobacter Baumani and Escherichia coli. Alert-pathogens were found in 4 (16%) swabs taken from hand before doctor's rounds and in 7 (28%) swabs taken after rounds. Stetoscopes were contaminated by alert-pathogens in 3 (12%) cases before doctor's rounds and in 3 (12%) cases taken after doctor's rounds. Soles of shoes were contaminated by alert-pathogens in 14 (56%) cases taken before and 16 (65%) cases taken after doctor's rounds. Conclusions. 1. Physicians are important factor of bacterial transmission in hospital. 2. Hands, stetoscopes and particularly soles of shoes of medical staff is the source of infection.

Opis:: Coded transmission is a technique that gives significant improvement in SNR and enables higher contrast imaging without sacrificing the resolution. A novel HF (20-35 MHz) ultrasound real-time imaging system for research and evaluation of the coded transmission was developed. The digital programmable coder-digitizer module based on the field programmable gate array (FPGA) chip supports arbitrary waveform coded transmission and RF echoes sampling up to 200 MSPS. A novel balanced software architecture supports real-time RF processing and display at rates up to 30 frames/sec. The system was used to gather data for sine burst and 16-bit Golay code excitation using a single element scanning head with thick film focused spherical transducer 25 MHz center frequency and 56% system bandwidth. SNR gain for the Golay codes (referenced to single burst) of 15 dB for 20 MHz and 16 dB for 35 MHz were obtained. In water the axial resolution for both single burst and the Golay codes was the same FWMH=20 ns at 20 MHz and FWMH=15 ns at 35 MHz. The presented system is a practical and low cost implementation of coded excitation technique in HF ultrasound imaging.

Opis:: The article is an analysis of the issue of admissibility of encumbering the right of perpetual usufruct of land with transmission line easement. The analysis of the existing judiciary and doctrine in this matter, conducted in the article, as well as the current regulations lead the author to the conclusion that pursuant to applicable law there are no grounds for encumbering perpetual usufruct with transmission line easement due to the binding principle of numerus clausus of encumbering rights with limited proprietary rights, with the exception of the situation of encumbering perpetual usufruct, together with buildings and facilities on the leased land which is the property of the perpetual lessee, with transmission easement. At the same time, noticing the lack of regulation of the issue by the legislator, the author considers possible solutions, which leads him to the conclusion that the legislator should expressly have indicated in the act whether transmission easement should encumber merely the right of perpetual usufruct of land or also the property leased for perpetual usufruct, which, in the opinion of the author, is a more accurate solution.
