Opis:
Treścią niniejszego artykułu jest przedstawienie sytuacji transportu kolejowego w Polsce na przestrzeni lat 2010-2016. Wymieniono najważniejszych w 2016 r. przewoźników kolejowych w zakresie transportu osób i ładunków. Charakterystyce poddano wybrane składniki infrastruktury transportowej oraz flotę wykorzystywaną do świadczenia usług w zakresie przewozu osób i ładunków. Celem artykułu było także porównanie usług kolejowych realizowanych w naszym kraju z innymi gałęziami transportowymi. Podano informacje dotyczące liczby przewiezionych pasażerów w badanym okresie czasu oraz wymieniono najpopularniejsze kierunki ich podróży. Przedstawiono również dane na temat przewiezionej masy ładunków oraz informacje w zakresie przemieszczanych grup ładunków w Polsce koleją i transportem samochodowym.
This paper describes the condition of rail transport in Poland in the period from 2010 to 2016. It lists the most significant rail carriers in 2016 providing passenger and cargo transport. Chosen components of transport infrastructure and fleet used to provide passenger and cargo transport services are characterized. The aim of this paper is also to compare rail services provided in our country with other means of transport. Information was provided on the number of passengers who were carried in the given period and on the most popular directions of their travel. Also data on the carried weight of cargo and information about transported groups of cargo in Poland by rail and by road transport were presented.

Experimental tests have been prepared and carried out in order to deepen the analysis of the influence of a position of a rear seat passenger in a passenger car on a risk of injuries during a road accident. This risk is considered and calculated in the aspect of a car passenger position that slightly deviates from the one planned by manufacturers of individual protection devices. Attention was focused on the analysis of measurable effects of the position modification in the area of torso and head movement and neck deformation. The experimental tests included a physical simulation of a frontal collision of a car and a rigid obstacle. They showed that relatively small changes to the initial dummy position could be a reason of significant differences in the movement trajectory and dummy position at the final stage of the crash test. These differences are described in details. The analysis also included the criteria index values that refer to the head, neck and chest injuries. Index calculation results confirm the influence of a small change to the leg and torso position on the index values, thus on the probability of injuries of the rear seat passengers in a passenger car.
Przygotowano i przeprowadzono badania eksperymentalne, które mają na celu pogłębienie analizy wpływu pozycji osoby siedzącej na tylnym siedzeniu w samochodzie osobowym na ryzyko jej obrażeń w czasie wypadku drogowego. Ryzyko to jest rozważane i obliczone w aspekcie zajmowania przez człowieka w samochodzie pozycji nieznacznie odbiegającej od zaplanowanej przez producentów urządzeń ochrony indywidualnej. Uwagę skupiono na analizie wymiernych skutków zmiany tej pozycji w obszarze ruchu torsu i głowy oraz odkształcenia szyi. Badania eksperymentalne były symulacją fizyczną czołowego uderzenia samochodu w sztywną przeszkodę. Pokazały one, że stosunkowo niewielkie różnice w początkowej pozycji manekina mogą być przyczyną znacznych różnic w trajektorii ruchu oraz położeniu manekina w kulminacyjnej fazie testu zderzeniowego. Różnice te zostały szczegółowo opisane. Analizie poddano także wartości wskaźników kryterialnych, które dotyczą powstawania obrażeń głowy, szyi i klatki piersiowej. Wyniki obliczeń wskaźników potwierdzają wpływ już niewielkiej zmiany położenia nóg i torsu na ich wartości, a zatem na prawdopodobieństwo powstawania obrażeń u osób jadących na tylnych siedzeniach samochodu osobowego.

W artykule omówione zostały dwa wskaźniki stosowane w transporcie miejskim, jakimi są praca przewozowa i potoki pasażerskie. Do analizy tych parametrów autorzy artykułu wykorzystali dane, dotyczące trzech zbliżonych względem siebie, zwłaszcza pod względem powierzchniowym i ludnościowym, miast wojewódzkich, tj. Łodzi, Poznania i Wrocławia. Aby pokazać, jak zmieniały się ich wartości w czasie, odniesiono się do przestrzeni lat 2000 - 2014.
This article discusses three indicators used in urban transport, which are: number of passengers, passengers turnover and stream of passengers. For the analysis of these parameters, the authors of the article used data on three similar to each other, especially in terms of surface and population, three big cities: Lodz, Poznan and Wroclaw. To show how they have changed their value over time, reference is made to the years 2000 to 2014.

The analysis carried out by the authors indicates high threat to the rear seat passengers in passenger cars during a road accident. Vehicle designers indicate potential threats for passengers when they take a position in a car which is unexpected by a manufacturer of passive protection systems. Based on that, the tests were prepared in order to consider several different positions of a rear seat passenger. In particular, attention was paid to a threat to passengers when they take a position unexpected by a manufacturer of the passive protection systems in a car. Indicating and justifying a need to adjust the operation of the individual protection means to a passenger anatomy and current passenger position in a car in order to optimize his protection makes an important aim of these tests. This paper presents the results of the tests performed with a Hybrid III dummy, size M50, placed in three different positions in the back seat of a car. During each test, a series of physical values were measured and the motion of a dummy against the car body and the car interior components were filmed. The effects resulting from a change of a passenger’s position, observed on the courses of dynamic loads occurring during an accident, were analysed. Despite of small changes to a passenger’s position, their significant influence on the dummy movement during a frontal collision of a car and an obstacle was observed.

In public transport, especially in bus services, the number of passengers decreases, largely because individual car transport are able to provide a higher quality passenger transport. Passengers choose the mode of transport based on the shortest travel time. This is why the share of individual car transport is growing, especially in suburban bus transport, but also in urban transport in smaller towns. Given that the travel time is more important for a traveler compared to the cost of transport, the aim of this contribution is to verify the hypothesis that shorter stopping times are needed for vehicles with a smaller capacity. When verifying the hypothesis, the authors will also address the issue of the impact of the number of vehicle doors and total capacity on the total travel time of the passenger.

Kolejowe połączenia międzynarodowe mają w Polsce długą tradycję. Początkowo (w połowie XIX w.) linie kolejowe łączyły ważne ośrodki przemysłowe na obszarze poszczególnych zaborów. Warto również nadmienić, że linie, które dziś łączą terytoria dwóch lub kilku państw, kiedyś umożliwiały przemieszczenie między miastami danego zaboru. Najlepszym przykładem jest Kolej Warszawsko-Wiedeńska, nazywana także Drogą Żelazną Warszawsko-Wiedeńską. Pierwszy jej odcinek na terenie zaboru rosyjskiego z Warszawy do Grodziska wybudowano w 1845 r. W 1848 r. otwarto odgałęzienie tej linii do Maczek (granica z Galicją) oraz do Łowicza. Dzięki wybudowaniu w 1848 r. Kolei Krakowsko-Górnośląskiej (Krakau - Oberschlesischen Eisenbahn) z Krakowa do Mysłowic z odnogą ze Szczakowej do Maczek [1], połączono Warszawę z Krakowem, Wrocławiem oraz Wiedniem [2].

Women, particularly in developing countries, rely heavily on public transport for their daily commute. This study explores the safety and security of women using ride-hailing services in Gauteng. Specifically, the study seeks to understand women’s experiences using ride-hailing services, which might influence their mobility. This study employed a constructivist research philosophy, utilizing qualitative, semi-structured interviews to explore the experiences of women who use ride-hailing services. The study findings reveal several disturbing incidents reported by female passengers using ride-hailing services; however, it is important to note that not all drivers exhibit inappropriate behaviour. Some drivers make inappropriate remarks, while others exhibit rude behaviour. The study found that some drivers use longer routes, leading to higher fares, which can be seen as exploitation. The study also reports some incidents where ride-hailing drivers almost kidnapped some female passengers, indicating a severe safety concern. The study contributes to the ongoing discourse on gender and transport studies, providing empirical evidence on the experiences of women using ride-hailing services in Gauteng, South Africa.

The dynamic loads acting on a human body during a road accident may cause bodily injuries. They are dependent not only on the car structure and applied means of individual protection but also on the anthropometric features of a human body and its location in car. The safety of the car occupants on the rear seats in the passenger cars has been treated as a secondary issue so far. The achieved stage of the structure of that equipment for the rear seat occupants makes an important confirmation of that state. Usually there is no adjustment of the seat belt fixing point position, seat belt pretensioners, seat adjustment. This paper considers the risk of injury for the front and rear seat passengers of the passenger cars on the basis of analysis of dynamic loads that can affect them during the road accident. The attention was paid to the adults and children aged about 10 years. The dynamic loads were analysed with making use of experimental results of frontal flat barrier impact. During the tests, the passengers are protected by typical passive safety systems on the front and the rear seats. In the evaluation used the criteria of the biomechanical human body resistance to the impact load effect. The attention is paid to relations between a seat occupied in a car and the probability of injuries. The analysis of the laboratory impact tests was preceded by the assessment of risk of injury of the front and rear seat passengers in the real road accidents, which has been prepared based on the literature data.

The article presents the main features of Regulation No 181/2011 of 16 February 2011 concerning the rights of passengers in bus and coach transport. The author analyzes passenger rights provided by this act in the context of the idea of the development of sustainable transport in the EU. The article presents the characteristics of coach and bus transport and indicates factors which shape its development.

Generalne trendy związane z procesem integracji europejskiej oraz z globalizacją sprzyjają częstszym podróżom i to na duże odległości. Znaczący udział w obsłudze podróży zagranicznych, w tym międzykontynentalnych, przypada na transport lotniczy umożliwiający dotarcie w najkrótszym czasie do różnych regionów świata. Wśród grupy osób podróżujących transportem lotniczym są osoby niepełnosprawne, dla których powinny być stworzone specjalne warunki obsługi w portach lotniczych i podczas lotu. W artykule omówione zostały zalecenia Parlamentu Europejskiego i Rady Unii Europejskiej dotyczące praw przysługujących osobom niepełnosprawnym oraz osobom o ograniczonej sprawności ruchowej podróżującym drogą lotniczą oraz sposobów ich obsługi w portach lotniczych i na pokładach samolotów. Ponadto, zaprezentowane zostały przykłady rozwiązań stosowane w obsłudze tej grupy podróżnych przez wybranych przewoźników lotniczych.
Including intercontinental journeys, is held by air transport - as one allowing to reach different regions of the world in the shortest time. Among air travellers are those requiring special conditions for handling at airports and during a flight - the disabled. The article discussed the recommendations of the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union concerning the rights of the disabled and people with limited mobility when traveling by air, and the way they should be attended to at airports and on board. Also presented are examples of solutions used to support this group of travelers by selected air carriers.

Celem badań preferencji pasażerów transportu publicznego jest poznanie potrzeb użytkowników transportu i mieszkańców miast. Przy poprawie jakości obsługi komunikacyjnej należy koncentrować się przede wszystkim na tych parametrach, które są istotne dla pasażerów. Artykuł prezentuje wyniki badań preferencji pasażerów w specyficznym obszarze, jakim są miasta satelickie w stosunku do miasta wojewódzkiego. Rankingi najważniejszych cech transportu publicznego w wielkim mieście (punktualność, częstotliwość, bezpośredniość) i w obszarach położonych wokół niego (czas przejazdu, punktualność, cena biletu) różnią się od siebie, na co należy zwrócić uwagę, zwłaszcza w trakcie realizacji transportu zintegrowanego w aglomeracji. Obszar podmiejski różni się wyraźnie pod względem obsługi transportowej: istnieje duża konkurencyjność pomiędzy przewoźnikami, dominują długie podróże, które często wymagają przesiadki. Przy braku integracji taryfowej często wiąże się to z wykupieniem kolejnego biletu. Omówiono również aspekty związane z metodologią badań preferencji. Rozmaite sposoby ich przeprowadzania i wartościowania powodują, że powstają trudności przy próbach porównywania rankingów z różnych miast. Należy zwracać uwagę na warunki, w jakich przeprowadzano badania, aby porównania między miastami były bardziej miarodajne.
The aim of researches on the public transport passenger's preferences is to learn about needs of transport users and inhabitants of cities. To improve quality of transport service it is necessary to concentrate on parameters crucial for passengers. The article presents results of researches on preferences of passengers in the area of satellite towns around the provincial (voivode) city. Rankings of the most important characteristics of public transport in the big city (punctuality, frequency, directness) and in the neighboring areas (time of travel, punctuality, charges - price of ticket) differ from each other; focus should be put on different aspects - especially when organizing integrated public transport in the agglomeration. Suburb area differs from the city as far as transport sendces are concerned: there is a high competitiveness between carriers; long journeys - with necessary changes - are much more frequent. While ticket integration is not introduced, passengers are obliged to buy separate tickets. In the article different aspects related to the methodology of researches on preferences are presented. Different methods of conducting and evaluating researches result with difficulties when comparing rankings of different cities. It is necessary to pay attention to the conditions of conducting researches so that comparing cities is more reliable.

Artykuł zawiera prezentację wyników internetowych badań ankietowych przeprowadzonych w okresie grudzień 2016 – luty 2017 wśród pasażerów Przedsiębiorstwa Komunikacji Miejskiej Sp. z o.o. w Jaworznie, które to adania miały na celu poznanie stopnia zadowolenia pasażerów z transportu organizowanego przez PKM Jaworzno i w szerszej perspektywie pogłębienie wiedzy teoretycznej na temat znaczenia jakości usług komunikacji miejskiej dla pasażerów. W badaniach wzięło udział 351 osób. Pasażerowie ocenili jakość transportu organizowanego przez PKM Jaworzno jako dobrą (średnia ocen: 4,09 w skali od 1 do 5), niemniej analiza niniejszego podsumowania pozwoli na poznanie ocen pasażerów poszczególnych kwestii, mających wpływ na zadowolenie i pozwoli na wysunięcie propozycji działań mających na celu udoskonalenie transportu organizowanego przez PKM Jaworzno.
This article presents topic of quality in public transport. Article goal is presentation results of research made by this article’s author. Research analysis can let to improvement the quality of services provided by one of the transport organizer. Article presents online research results made in December 2016 – February 2017 among the passengers of Przedsiębiorstwo Komunikacji Miejskiej Sp. z o.o. in Jaworzno. Research goal was knowing the passengers’ grade of satisfaction of transport organized by PKM Jaworzno and deepen theoretical knowledge on the importance of quality in public transport for passengers in a broader perspective. There took part 351 people in research. Passengers judged the quality of transport organized by PKM Jaworzno as good (average rating: 4,09 on scale from 1 to 5). The analysis of this research summary will let to knowing passengers rating for the individual issues those have an influence on the satisfaction and let to suggest the actions those goal will be improvement the transport organized by PKM Jaworzno.

The subject of the article concerns the issue of transport accessibility, due to the special needs of disabled persons and persons with reduced mobility. The disability related to the state of health is presented numerically for Poland, including the dysfunctions occurring and also in relation to the population of Europe and the world. The presented values indicate a significant size of problems that cannot be ignored or downplayed in the context of the policy of equal treatment of all citizens. On the basis of European and Polish legal regulations, the issues of rail transport accessibility in relation to meeting the requirements specified in the technical specifications for interoperability are discussed. The conditions specified in the PRM TSI for the “Infrastructure”and “Rolling Stock” subsystems are presented in detail, including the obligation to create registers: railway infrastructure and rolling stock and requirements for the development of strategic documents, such as national implementation plans and access strategies to passenger infrastructure and access strategies to passenger rolling stock. Following the National Implementation Plan of the PRM TSI, a diagnosis of the condition and assessment of the accessibility of Polish railways for people with disabilities was discussed, as well as the functioning principles and actions taken by infrastructure managers and railway operators to eliminate existing barriers. The article also indicates the internal project carried out in the Railway Track and Operation Department of the Railway Research Institute, concerning the development of a method facilitating the preparation of a strategy guaranteeing full access to passenger infrastructure in accordance with the requirements of the TSI PRM. The proposed method uses the questionnaire of the facility, which covers all aspects related to the accessibility of the railway station for people with disabilities. This project is an offer for rail infrastructure managers who are required to have a strategy for each passenger station and are part of the state policy implemented to improve the accessibility of public space.

This paper aims to examine the effect of moral norm on public transport passengers’ behavioral intention in Bogor, Indonesia. This research is important because there is lack of research on the topic. The research used quantitative research methodology. Survey with questionnaire was performed in order to gather the research data. The respondents of the survey are 277 public transport passengers in Bogor, Indonesia. The research results show that moral norm influences public transport passengers’ behavioral intention positively.
Artykuł ma na celu wykazanie wpływu norm moralnych na zachowanie pasażerów transportu publicznego w mieście Bogor w Indonezji. Tego rodzaju badania nie zostały wcześniej przeprowadzone, co potwierdza ich istotność. Do wykonania badań wykorzystana została metoda ilościowa. Dane zostały zgromadzone na podstawie opracowanego kwestionariusza ankiety. W badaniu wzięło udział 277 pasażerów transportu publicznego w Bogor w Indonezji. Wyniki badań wskazują, że normy moralne mają pozytywny wpływ na zachowania badanych pasażerów.
