Krystyna Uhrowiecka h. Suchekomnaty była przedstawicielką znanej rodziny pochodzenia ruskiego osiadłej w ziemi chełmskiej. Na podstawie przebadanych źródeł można było pokusić się nie tylko o przedstawienie zarysu jej biografii, lecz także o opracowanie w zasadzie nieznanej heraldykom genealogii rodziny Uhrowieckich w XVI i pierwszej połowie XVII w. Autorowi udało się zidentyfikować rodziców, dziadów i pradziadów bohaterki studium. W artykule przedstawiono krótkie biogramy przodków i krewnych z linii męskiej Krystyny Uhrowieckiej. Jej samej poświęcono drugą część opracowania. Córka starosty chełmskiego Mikołaja, Krystyna dwukrotnie wychodziła za mąż. Po raz pierwszy za podkomorzego mielnickiego Kaspra Dembińskiego, po raz drugi zaś za Zbigniewa Sienieńskiego, kasztelana lubelskiego. Z pierwszym mężem miała córkę Franciszkę Katarzynę. Drugiemu urodziła sześcioro dzieci: synów Mikołaja, Stanisława, Zbigniewa i Tomasza oraz córki Annę i Eufrozynę. Kasztelanowa lubelska okazała się osobą bardzo zaradną i zapobiegliwą. Udało się jej zgromadzić dość znaczny majątek, który przekazała dzieciom. W dniu 2 czerwca 1639 r. sporządziła bardzo ciekawy testament, którego krytyczna edycja została załączona do prezentowanego tu tekstu. Zmarła zapewne wkrótce po podyktowaniu swojej ostatniej woli, a więc jeszcze w 1639 r.
Krystyna Uhrowiecka, Suchekomnaty coat of arms was a representative of a well-known family of Ruthenian origin who settled in the Chełm region. On the basis of researched sources, it was possible not only to present an outline of her biography, but also to develop the genealogy of the Uhrowiecki family in the 16th and first half of the 17th century, unknown in principle to heraldist. The author managed to identify the parents, grandfathers and great-grandfathers of the heroine of this study. The article presents short biographies of ancestors and relatives from the male line of Krystyna Uhrowiecka. The second part of the study was devoted to her. The daughter of Mikołaj, starost of Chełm, Krystyna got married twice. The first time she was a wife of the chamberlain of Mielnik, Kasper Dembiński, and the second time of Zbigniew Sienieński, castellan of Lublin. With her first husband, she had a daughter, Franciszka Katarzyna. To the second one she gave birth to six children – sons Mikołaj, Stanisław, Zbigniew and Tomasz, as well daughters Anna and Eufrozyna. The wife of the castellan of Lublin turned out to be a very resourceful and foresighted person. She managed to accumulate quite significant fortune, which she donated to the children. On June 2, 1639, she made a very interesting will, a critical edition of which was attached to the text presented here. She probably died soon after dictating her last will, i.e. still in 1639.

Opis:
Many royal privileges have been preserved from the Jagiellonian period, releasing the townsmen from the obligation to pay taxes. The entries of these regulations appear both in the books of the royal register (often in an abbreviated form) and in the form of diplomas, sometimes incorporated into city cartularies. An increasing number of the abovementioned regulations is visible in the royal register, especially since the reign of Sigismund I, which can be explained by both greater care taken to enter the temporary acts into the register, and the intensification of issuing such regulations in view of the increasingly frequent (ultimately regular) adoption of the urban revenue tax in Sejm. Tax liberations in the Jagiellonian period belonged to the exclusive competence of the king; therefore, these documents belonged to leges speciales passed in opposition to the revenues binding for all, and thus falling into the category of the Polish ius commune. The tax privileges served primarily to help cities ruined by natural disasters and war turmoil. The period of exemption depended on the type of tax, while the goal of liberation was most fully achieved by longer exemptions from the basic tax — the royal urban revenue tax. The much shorter period of exemption from the excise tax was justified by its consumption character and the fact that it was an indirect tax, as the buyer of the goods was in fact charged for its costs. The circumstances in which the tax exemptions were issued make the tax liberation privileges a sad testimony to frequent fires, which in the vast majority of cases consumed the wooden buildings of the towns of the Jagiellonian era.

Opis:
The editorial series Bibliotheca Tessinensis, founded in 2004, is devoted to publishing the unknown or hardy accessible source documents related to the history of Cieszyn Silesia from the Middle Ages to the present, as well as the sources of universal significance, which are stored in Cieszyn Silesia and constitute the abiding component of the cultural heritage of the region. The title of the series harks back to the edition of the bio- and bibliographical materials, planned to be edited by Leopold Jan Szersznik (1747-1814); in the publishers’ intention it grounds the series in the historiographical tradition of the region, giving it also a supranational character and outreach. Accordingly, the Bibliotheca Tessinensis is being issued in two subseries – one of them (Series Polonica) published by Książnica Cieszyńska (the Cieszyn Historical Library), and the other (Series Bohemica) – by Ośrodek Dokumentacyjny Kongresu Polaków w Republice Czeskiej (the Documentation Centre of the Congress of Poles in the Czech Republic). The consecutive volumes of both subseries, issued independently of each other, depending on the organiza tional and financial possibilities of the publishers, are prepared according to the common editorial instruction, have the same layout, and are numbered sequentially within the whole series.
