Artykuł opisuje elektrociepłownię o mocy elektrycznej do 750 kW i mocy cieplnej 3,4 MW uruchomioną w Żorach przez prywatnego inwestora w lutym 2015 roku.
The paper describes cogeneration plan of 750 kW electric power and 3,4 MW heat power, that has been started in Zory (Poland), by private enterprise in February 2014. The application of the ORC Organic Rankine Cycle allows operation of turbine at lower temperature of the working fluid (thermal oil), what leads to better adaptation to the energy conversion at biomass combustion. Furthermore, in this power plant a new solution of the thermal oil cooling has been applied. Instead of directing the working fluid (oil) from turbine to a cooler, it is directed to another heat consumer (drying oven). This solution improve considerably the overall efficiency of the power plant, however it also influence the control of electrical energy generation. Due to excellent fitting to Polish economic conditions and support of the European Union, as well as relatively low investment costs, we can expect that quite a number of similar cogeneration plants will be soon built in Poland. Some characteristics of the power plant operation are presented in the paper. The operation showed out that due to the economical optimization, the generation of electrical energy may depend on the actual heat consumption (it can even drop below zero). - Źródło:
