Opis:
A new model is formulated of the sociological effect of the spiral of silence, introduced by Elisabeth Noelle-Neumann in 1974. The probability that a new opinion is openly expressed decreases with the difference between this new opinion and the perceived opinion of the majority. We also assume that the system is open, i.e. some people enter and some leave during the process of the opinion formation. An influence of a leader is simulated by a comparison of two runs of the simulation, where the leader has different opinion in each run. The difference of the mean expressed opinions in these two runs persists long after the leader's leave.

Opis:
An evacuation process is simulated within the Social Force Model. Thousand pedestrians are leaving a room by one exit. We investigate the stationarity of the distribution of time lags between instants when two successive pedestrians cross the exit. The exponential tail of the distribution is shown to gradually vanish. Taking fluctuations apart, the time lags decrease in time till there are only about 50 pedestrians in the room, then they start to increase. This suggests that at the last stage the flow is laminar. In the first stage, clogging events slow the evacuation down. As they are more likely for larger crowds, the flow is not stationary. The data are investigated with detrended fluctuation analysis and return interval statistics, and no pattern transition is found between the stages of the process.

Opis:
We discuss a first-order phase transition from non-magnetic to magnetic phase at T=0. New results are presented on a spontaneously formed magnetic phase and its energy in the C15 atomic structure, in the presence of the antiferromagnetic interaction. A dynamic phase diagram is constructed for the phase transition. The results are discussed in the context of the pressure-driven phase transition, which was observed experimentally in YMn$\text{}_{2}$.

In an emergency situation, imitation of strategies of neighbours can lead to an order-disorder phase transition, where spatial clusters of pedestrians adopt the same strategy. We assume that there are two strategies, cooperating and competitive, which correspond to a smaller or larger desired velocity. The results of our simulations within the Social Force Model indicate that the ordered phase can be detected as an increase of spatial order of positions of the pedestrians in the crowd.

The Polish Fireball Network (PFN) associated in Comets and Meteors Workshop monitors the sky over Poland regularly for 15 years and registers the bright fireballs over the whole country (Olech 2006; Wiśniewski 2017). Every year we observe a few meteorite falls but due to weather conditions some data are not sufficient for proper strewnfield calculations. In the collaboration with the European Fireball Network the whole territory of Poland is monitored almost regardless of the weather. The publication describes the bolide phenomena characterized by distinctive meteorite falls, so the strewnfield indicated here should become the target of further exploration expeditions.

The Meteorite Section was created in 2010 on demand of Polish Fireball Network (PFN) for the meteorite searching and investigation purposes. The main task of the Section is to find the meteorites dropped from bolides registered by the Polish Fireball Network. Each year, the PFN registers several meteorite falls within our country and meteorite strewnfield inspections must be carried out at least for the masses of above 300 g estimated with the PyFN software. Only last year the PFN organized several search campaigns. Two of them are presented in the publication.

The Polish Fireball Network (PFN) is a project to monitor regularly the sky over Poland in order to detect bright fireballs. In 2016 the 72 PFN cameras recorded 100 389 meteor events. Using these data and the UFOOrbit software 19 087 trajectories and orbits were calculated. In the following years we are planning intensive modernization of the PFN network including installation of dozens of new digital cameras.
Polish Fireball Network (PFN) to projekt polegający na regularnym monitorowaniu nieba nad Polską w celu zaobserwowania jasnych meteorów i bolidów. W 2016 roku 72 kamery PFN zarejestrowały 100 389 meteorów. Za pomocą tych danych i oprogramowania UFOOrbit obliczono 19 087 trajektorie i orbity. W kolejnych latach planujemy intensywną modernizację sieci PFN, w tym instalację kilkudziesięciu nowych kamer cyfrowych.

Since 2010, the Meteorite Section of the Comet and Meteor Workshop (PKiM) has been systematically organizing exploratory expeditions to selected meteorite strewn fields, calculated from bolides registered with the Polish Fireball Network (PFN). Some of the expeditions organized in the period of 2018–2020, after the phenomena PF140118, PF070119, EN050120 and PF310720 are reported. All these phenomena have a common feature, they reach beyond the borders of Poland – either the analysis was developed in cooperation with the European Fireball Network (EN) or the meteorite fall took place abroad. It is clear that meteor phenomena have no boundaries and for positive research results in near-Earth space science a European cooperation is highly recommended. Many meteorites fallen from the bolides registered in the PFN are still in the strewn field waiting to be discovered. The article presents a study of the most important phenomena happened in two last years, and it is also a hint where to look for meteorites in Europe.

Cosmogenic radionuclides in meteoroids are produced in space in the process of activation. These nuclides have various lifetimes in range from a few days to several hundred thousand years and can therefore be helpful in solving several problems related to the study of meteoroids and their remains, both in space and on the Earth. The simplest application of cosmogenic radionuclide decay in meteorites is to determine the terrestrial age of meteorites, especially those whose fall has not been observed. In this article, we present an additional application of cosmogenic radionuclide measurements, namely for the verification of origin of rocks that show equivocal features and may potentially represent meteorites.

The Polish Fireball Network (PFN), has been undergoing continuous development. Since then, several large grants have been obtained, which were at least partly used for modernization purposes. In recent years, two more grants have been obtained, which allowed for the expansion and modification of the existing PFN infrastructure. In 2021, the PFN76 Kozienice was modernized, but also the PFN14 Zielona Góra station was reactivated and the new PFN77 Suhora station was launched in 2022. Thanks to these improvements, the tracking of meteoroids entering the Earth Atmosphere above Poland became more accurate, which facilitates the search for meteorites and increases the chances of finding new fresh meteorites in Poland. On the night of May 10, 2021, PFN stations registered an exceptionally slow bolide. The phenomenon named PF100521 Wykrot appeared over central Poland in the Mazowieckie Voivodeship at 21:32 UT and calculations showed that some meteorites may have fallen. This phenomenon was used to conduct a series of analyzes to show how observational uncertainties affect the final results. Two variants of the results are presented in this work.

W pracy zbadano wpływ stężenia przenośnika, wpływ temperatury oraz pH fazy zasilającej na kinetykę procesu transportu jonów chromu (III) przez ciekłe membrany unieruchomione stosując jako przenośnik kwas dinonylonaftalenosulfonowy (DNNSA). Wyraźny wpływ badanych parametrów na kinetykę transportu wskazuje, iż optymalne właściwości membran ciekłych ograniczone są do wąskiego przedziału parametrów procesowych charakterystycznych dla danego przypadku.
An influence of temperature, pH in the feed phase and carrier concentration in membrane on kinetics of chromium(III) ions transport through the supported liquid membrane consisting as a carrier di-no nylnaphtalenesulfonic acid (DNNSA) was investigated. A visible influence of each parameter on transport kinetics was observed. Optimum properties of liquid membrane are strongly restricted by process parameters, which are characteristic for a given case.

W artykule przedstawiono problematykę ochrony infrastruktury komunalnej, której charakter i zakres świadczonych dzięki niej usług spełnia kluczowe znaczenie dla gospodarki państwa. Rozważania podjęte przez autorów rozpoczynają się od określenia istoty ochrony obiektów kluczowych dla gospodarki państwa i bezpieczeństwa ludności; definiują charakter i zasięg skutków powstałych w wyniku wybranego zagrożenia oraz odnoszą się do praktycznych elementów ochrony ludności. Podjęto również próbę wskazania możliwego obszaru zastosowania systemów informacji przestrzennej w zakresie określania zasięgu potencjalnych skutków zagrożenia w odniesieniu do procesu planowania cywilnego oraz reagowania w sytuacji zagrożenia. W końcowym etapie pracy, autorzy wskazali rozwiązania związane z organizacją i przeprowadzeniem ewakuacji ludności oraz samoewakuacją.
The article takes communal infrastructure protection and its problematic aspects into consideration. Its character and the scope of service are crucial for the national economy. An exemplification of such object is the Warsaw Filtering Station. It could pose some threats for local communities in case of anthropogenic, technical and natural disturbances. The article presents a relation between the Warsaw Filtering Station infrastructure disturbance and its influence on local environment. The attempt of showing a potential GIS use areas while determining the threat zones for civil planning and crisis situation response needs, has been undertaken. At the end, the authors have presented the solutions connected with mass evacuation, taking volunteered evacuation into account. The guidelines of subject organization have been gathered.
