The subject matter of this article concerns the diagnostic test results of transformer cores by measuring and analysing vibroacoustic signals registered during their normal operation. The main objective of this research study conducted by the authors, the results of which are published in this paper, is a critical analysis of vibroacoustic criteria, which are adopted in Poland nowadays, and based on which, the assessment of the core technical condition is performed. This article presents exemplary results that were obtained on two twin units of type TET 8509 with a power of 40 MVA. The paper specifies diagnosed structures, the measurement system applied, and the currently used methodology to assess the degree of core loosening. To determine the efficacy and assessment accuracy of the applied vibroacoustic criteria, correlation between mechanical vibration measurements of the tested transformer tanks and results obtained by gas chromatography was performed.

The paper presents the results of vibroacoustic investigations and the measurements of the acoustic pressure level (noise) of a transformer model. The measurements were taken at a full transformer load in two operation conditions: at a producer packeted core and at unpacketed core. Unpacketing consisted in loosing the screws pressing the particular core plates. Mechanical vibrations were registered and the acoustic pressure level was measured. The vibroacoustic analysis results are presented in the form of frequency spectra and the results of the acoustic analysis of the transformer under study are shown by determining corrected values of the acoustic pressure level and by a frequency analysis.

Tematyka artykułu dotyczy prowadzonych przez firmę Energo-Silesia i pracowników Politechniki Opolskiej badań i prac koncepcyjnych zmierzających do zaprojektowania oraz skonstruowania nowoczesnej, niskoszumnej chłodnicy wentylatorowej. Celem omawianych w artykule badań jest próba optymalizacji aktualnie stosowanych w przemyśle konstrukcji olejowo-powietrznych układów chłodzących transformatorów pod kątem możliwość redukcji generowanego przez nie hałasu. W pracy zaproponowano trzy sposoby redukcji poziomu ciśnienia akustycznego poprzez: zmianę kształtu dyfuzora wylotu powietrza, zastosowanie cichobieżnych wentylatorów i regulacji prędkości obrotowej wentylatorów.
During the operation a power transformer produces noise whose main sources are, among others, cooling fans and magnetostrictive vibrations of the core [1, 2]. A power transformer installed in an industrial object should be chosen in such a way that the noise arising during its normal operation does not exceed the limit values set out in particular in environmental standards [3, 4]. The paper presents the scope of research and conceptual work conducted by the staff of the Energo-Silesia company and Opole University of Technology. It is aimed at design and construction of a modern, low-noise cooling fan. The main objective of the work is an attempt to optimise the methods used in construction industry of oil-air cooling systems of power transformers as well as to assess constraints generated by the environmental sound pressure level. There are proposed three potential areas for possible reduction of noise produced in coolers. The first is optimisation of a structure housing the column and use of steering cooler air stream (Fig. 1b). The second option is to use a specialised fan blade design, and consequently a reduced power level (Figs. 2 and 4). The last and most widely described in publications is the concept of intelligent speed control of fan motors (Figs. 8 and 9).

W artykule przedstawiono system oceny stanu technicznego transformatorów TrafoGrade, który opracowano w firmie Energo-Complex i wdrożono w praktyce. Omówiono podstawy tworzenia części technicznej oceny transformatorów, która składa się z trzech etapów ocen grupowych oraz etapu końcowej oceny transformatora. Przedstawiono zasady określania znaczenia transformatorów w sieci elektroenergetycznej. Podano przykłady zastosowania systemu TrafoGrade w praktyce eksploatacyjnej oraz wnioski wypływające z jego użycia dla określonej populacji transformatorów.
The paper presents the TrafoGrade system for assessment of transformer technical condition, designed by Energo-Complex and implemented into operation. The basics for preparing the technical part of assessment consisting of three stages of group grades and the final stage of transformer assessment are given. There are also described the principles of determining the transformer importance in the system. Some examples of application of TrafoGrade to operation conditions and the conclusions resulting from its use for a determined population of transformers are presented.

In the article results of measurements and analyses of the optical signals emitted by electrical surface partial discharges occurring on bushing and post insulators, recorded with UV camera during tests under laboratory conditions are presented. The carried out research was to determine the effect of the distance between the insulator's electrodes and the voltage value on the number of partial discharges.

W artykule przedstawiono metodykę i przykładowe wyniki diagnostyki transformatorów elektroenergetycznych prowadzonej z wykorzystaniem systemu TrafoGrade, który opracowano i wdrożono w firmie Energo - Complex. Scharakteryzowano poszczególne części składowe systemu takie jak ocena stanu technicznego, ocena znaczenia transformatora w systemie elektroenergetycznym oraz analiza ekonomicznych perspektyw eksploatacji. Przedstawiono również koncepcję stworzenia systemu komputerowego do zarządzania populacją transformatorów. Podano przykładowe analizy wykonane w oparciu o otrzymane wyniki pomiarowe z 45 transformatorów rozdzielczych zainstalowanych w jednej ze spółek dystrybucyjnych działających na terenie Polski.
Power transformers are significant part of assets owned by entities distributing and transferring electric energy. In Poland, there are several thousands of medium and high power transformers operated, while over 50% of them is older than 30 years, what means they have already exceeded their planned lifetime. At present in Europe there are not sufficient production and financial means allowing to exchange most of transformers population in the close future. The only possibility is maximally to prolong the operation of already installed old units [1]. To help fulfilling this task Energo-Complex Ltd. has elaborated complex system of transformers management, named TrafoGrade, which is based on the point scale assessment of transformer's technical condition, its importance in the power grid and linking technical aspects of diagnostics with economic-financial factors to conduct decision process optimizing in the range of routine exploitation, repairs planning and investment policy [2]. The assessment of technical ondition with TrafoGrade system is based on analysis of 15 parameters obtained from diagnostic measurements, divided into three groups (Fig. 2). The paper presents examples of technical condition assessment (Fig. 4, 5, 6) and describes operational possibilities for 45 distribution transformers installed in one of distribution companies operating in Poland. For the operation planning and rationalization, the technical condition of transformers was linked to their importance in power system (Fig. 7), which allowed to divide given population into three basic groups of further exploitation: transformers with simplified operation (U), transformers with normal operation (N) and transformers with special operation (S). TrafoGrade system is a modern tool for diagnostics and management of transformers. The complex assessment of technical condition gives a lot of important information to be applied in logistic actions and financial policy of transformers operators. The important advantage of TrafoGrade system is simple form of assessment presentation, helping to analyze results of measurement both by engineering staff and managing personnel without wide technical knowledge.

W kopalniach odkrywkowych węgla brunatnego ważnym elementem procesu wydobywczego jest eksploatacja węgla w przyspągowych partiach złoża. W niniejszym artykule przedstawiono analizę sposobów pracy koparki łańcuchowej zbliżonej budową do koparki typu ERs 710, podczas eksploatacji przyspągowych partii złoża węgla brunatnego w zróżnicowanych warunkach jego zalegania. Analizę przeprowadzono dla pokładu węgla brunatnego, charakteryzującego się nieregularnością granic, zmienną miąższością oraz znacznymi deniwelacjami spągu. Opisano i zilustrowano na schematach proponowany sposób urabiania węgla w deniwelacjach pokładu, którego miąższość przekracza możliwości wynikające z zasięgu pionowego omawianej koparki łańcuchowej. Przedstawiona na schematach technologia pracy maszyn zależna jest głównie od miąższości pokładu oraz od współpracy z koparką kołową (w tym z zastosowaniem przejezdnego przenośnika PGOT).
In brown coal (lignite) opencast mines an exploitation of coal near floor parts of a deposit is a very important part of operations. In the article, an analysis of bucket chain excavator ways of work in varied conditions of floor parts of the deposit, has been presented. The analysis has been done for a coal seam characterized by irregular borders, variable thickness and significant floor denivelations. The ways of exploitation of coal in floor drops exceeding excavator vertical capabilities have been presented. Presented bucket chain excavator exploitation technology is dependent mainly on seam thickness and cooperation with bucket wheel excavator including use of PGOT mobile conveyor.

Przedstawiono możliwości przekwalifikowania zasobów nieprzemysłowych do przemysłowych w kopalniach eksploatujących skały zwięzłe urabiane materiałem wybuchowym w wyniku zmiany metody urabiania. Wprowadzenie metod urabiania mechanicznego w tych częściach złoża umożliwia pozyskanie dodatkowych zasobów, co jest równoznaczne z poprawieniem ich stopnia wykorzystania. W celu uzyskania optymalnych wyników przedstawione metody urabiania skał zwięzłych należy dostosować do parametrów urabianych skał.
Presentation of the possibility of reclassification of non-economic resources into economic resources in mines exploiting solid rocks with use of explosives. Introduction of mechanical mining methods in those parts of the deposit enables mobilizing additional resources, which leads to improving their use. The presented solid rock mining methods must be adapted to the parameters of mined rock in order to obtain optimum results.

Omówiona została również strategia rozwoju Instytutu na najbliższe lata.
The article features the achievements of the Institute of Innovative Technologies EMAG in providing solutions indispensable for modern technological processes to national and international industrial organizations. Additionally, the article presents EMAG's potential, abilities and operation scope, as well as the Institute's position on the market. Some examples of EMAG's implementation projects were described, along with the new approach to commercialization issues represented by the Science and Industrial Centre EMAG. Finally, the authors discussed the Institute's development strategy for the nearest future.

Artykuł dotyczy alternatywnych możliwości zagospodarowania trudno zbywalnych frakcji amfibolitu ze złoża Pagórki Wschodnie. Aktualnie amfibolit wydobywany jest wyłącznie ze złóż położonych na terenie województwa dolnośląskiego. W roku 2015 eksploatowano trzy złoża (Ogorzelec, Pagórki Wschodnie i Piława Górna), z których wydobyto 1214 tys. ton surowca. Skład chemiczny amfibolitu ze złoża Pagórki Wschodnie został oznaczony za pomocą optycznego spektrometru emisyjnego oraz techniki SEM-EDS. W artykule przedstawiono dwa kierunki zastosowania drobnych frakcji amfibolitu, w rolnictwie i przemyśle ceramicznym.
This article concerns the alternative ways of managing of difficult-to-market amphibolite fractions from the Pagórki Wschodnie deposit. Currently, amphibolite is only exploited from deposits located in the Lower Silesia. In 2015, three deposits (Ogorzelec, Pagórki Wschodnie and Piława Górna) were exploited and 1 million 214 thousand tons of raw minerals were mined. The chemical composition of the amphibolite from the Pagórki Wschodnie was determined by an optical emission spectrometer and the SEM-EDS technique. This article presents two directions for the use of fine amphibolite fractions, in agriculture and in the ceramic industry.
