Opis:
During the diagnostic research done by means of optical devices equipped with radiation sources from the near infrared range the phenomena indicating the perception possibility of this range by a human eye were observed. In this contribution the initial results of the research of this phenomenon were presented. Sources of radiation applied in laser polarimeters (785 nm) and devices designed for optical coherent tomography (820, 850 nm) were taken into particular consideration. Perception tests with the use of a laser diode generating at the wavelength of 940 nm were also carried out. It was stated that the radiation from the range examined can be recorded by a human eye giving a colour sensation - in practice independently of the wavelength of the radiation beam falling into a retina.

Opis:
The Sztoła River crosses Lesser Poland and Silesia voivodships in the region of Olkusz zinc and lead ores mining and sands extraction. It is one of the left-bank tributary of Biała Przemsza. Its sources are located southwest of Olkusz. In the geological structure of Sztoła water catchment area, on the basis of conducted drillings, the following deposits can be distinguished: Paleozoic, represented by Permian deposits, Mezozoic-Triassic deposits, and Cenozoic-Quaternary deposits (Buła 2000, Motyka 2010). Hydrodynamic conditions in the region of Sztoła have been strongly interrupted by the development of zinc and lead ores mining and a sand pit, which required an application of drainage. The first system of drainage was adits built in 16 th century, which resulted in a decrease of the groundwater table level from few to over a dozen meters (Żukowski 1946, Górnisiewicz 1975, Molenda 1977, Kosiński 1882). The intensive development of mining in this region began in the first half of 19 th century, along with appearance of new drainage techniques. The Sztoła River changed its character from draining to infiltrating on its the whole length as the effect of development of vast zinc and lead ores mine depression cone, related to the exploitation of the „Pomorzany” mine, and later with a gravitational drainage of sandpit „Szczakowa” (Witczak & Motyka 1975, Haładus et al. 2007). In the upper part of the river it resulted with a partial dry out of the riverbed. Water flowing in the river originated from the drainage of Olkusz zinc and lead ores mines and is directed there through Baba channel. A research conducted in the summer of 2014 examined the upper part of the Sztoła River. Groundwater taken from springs, as well as surface water, was collected, and the areas of critical riverbed dry out were identified. A complete physicochemical analysis was carried out in the AGH hydrogeochemical laboratory in Cracow. On the basis of the received data, the characteristics of chemical composition of groundwater and surface water were prepared. Their hydrochemical type, pH values, electrolytical conductivity was determined. Chemical composition was also presented in the selected graphical forms (Piper, Collins, Pie Chart). Based on analysis, the statistical parameters of composition of water from the research region were calculated. Furthermore, the quality of underground and surface water was evaluated according to the existing standards, and suitability to consumption by people was determined. The Obtained data were also compared with archival results of samples collected within the investigated area.

Opis:
Non-sinusoidal currents and voltages caused by nonlinear loads appear in power grids more and more frequently. Determination of the voltage transformer accuracy in such conditions makes a problem. Firstly, due to lack of definition of errors for distorted signals and secondly, typical measurement bridges do not accept higher harmonics. In the paper, the new definition of transformation error for distorted voltages has been proposed and some measurement results have been presented.

Methods of optical imaging used in medical diagnostic (with taking the newest diagnostic techniques into consideration in particular) have been presented. Selected optical characteristics of tissues having an influence on the range of the classical methods of the optical imaging have been discussed in detail. The respond to the classical method limitations was to use scanning methods and detection techniques consisting in three-dimensional imaging of tissue structures in real time. A specific eye structure allows the wide using of these techniques in ophthalmology. Such advantages like non-invasiveness, non-contactness and high resolution (guaranteeing the safety of a patient) show a huge success of these techniques. The results of the research (conducted in many research centers) point at the wider application possibility of optical scanning method in medical diagnostic.

Opis:
Optical diagnostic methods of biological media are more and more willingly used in clinical practice - also instead of classical biopsy. Particularly, optical coherent tomography methods and mammography (permitting achieving three-dimensional imaging of a tissue) are attractive in comparison with classical diagnostic methods. The article presents the analysis methods of optical parameters of biological tissues developed allowing obtaining absolute values of these parameters. Thanks to modern image analysis methods - wavelet transforms - the optical diagnostic effectiveness was improved. The theoretical and practical results achieved were compared with results of commercially accessible methods implemented in OCT devices.

Opis:
Lower Carboniferous limestone has been extracted in the “Czatkowice” open-pit hill-slope quarry in southern Poland since 1947, for the needs of metallurgical and building industries, as well as farming. We can distinguish two aquifers in the Czatkowice area: the Quaternary porous aquifer and the Carboniferous fissure-porous one. Two vertical zones representing different hydrodynamic characteristics can be indentified in the Carboniferous formations. One is a weathering zone and the other one the zone of fissures and interbedding planes. Groundwater inflows into the quarry workings have been observed at the lowest mining level (+315 m above the sea level (asl)) for over 30 years. This study concerns two hypotheses of the sources of such inflows originating either from (a) the aeration zone or from (b) the saturation zone. Inflows into the quarry combine into one stream flowing gravitationally to the doline under the pile in the western part of the quarry. This situation does not cause a dewatering need. Extending eastward mining and lowering of the exploitation level lead to increased inflows.
Pierwsza z nich, to strefa wietrzenia, a druga to strefę spękań i fug międzyławicowych.

Opis:
Convenient human-computer interaction is essential to carry out many exhausting and concentration-demanding activities. One of them is cyber-situational awareness as well as dynamic and static risk analysis. A specific design method for a multimodal human-computer interface (HCI) for cyber-security events visualisation control is presented. The main role of the interface is to support security analysts and network operators in their monitoring activities. The proposed method of designing HCIs is adapted from the methodology of robot control system design. Both kinds of systems act by acquiring information from the environment, and utilise it to drive the devices influencing the environment. In the case of robots the environment is purely physical, while in the case of HCIs it encompasses both the physical ambience and part of the cyber-space. The goal of the designed system is to efficiently support a human operator in the presentation of cyberspace events such as incidents or cyber-attacks. Especially manipulation of graphical information is necessary. As monitoring is a continuous and tiring activity, control of how the data is presented should be exerted in as natural and convenient way as possible. Hence two main visualisation control modalities have been assumed for testing: static and dynamic gesture commands and voice commands, treated as supplementary to the standard interaction. The presented multimodal interface is a component of the Operational Centre, which is a part of the National Cybersecurity Platform. Creation of the interface out of embodied agents proved to be very useful in the specification phase and facilitated the interface implementation.

Opis:
The presented complete edition was prepared on the base results of the detailed (Detailed Geological Map of Poland in scale 1:50 000) and review geological mapping, published and archival data, as well as an explanations and symbols elaborated for Glaciotectonic Map of Poland in scale 1:1 000 000. Therefore this elaboration, presenting the regional description of the glaciotectonic features within selected regions of Poland, compose specific textural explanations for this map. Within the territory of Poland subdivided on following regions: North-Western, North, North-Eastern, Western, Middle-Western, Middle, Middle-Eastern, Southern, South-Eastern, glaciotectonicly disturbed landforms and sediments either expressed in recent relief or buried (stated in borings or in exposures) were described. Distribution of glaciotectonic features over the territory of Poland is related primarily to the presence younger glaciations and thickneses of the deformable substratum. Generally, the landforms and sediments were deformed by active ice sheets through the horizontal and vertical thrusts of the ice masses, as well as by vertical stress of the stagnant ice masses. The supplementary works under in details description of the glaciotectonic features in particular regions of Poland will be continued, as well as completed the contents of the Glaciotectonic Map of Poland in scale 1:1 000 000.
