Jacek Kuroń was a politician, who has found his permanent place in collective memory of polish nation. He cannot be forgotten in the reflection on the transformation that took place in Poland in XX and XXI century. He was an author of his own political program. Under the influence his own reflection and observations of the changing social and political conditions, his program was evaluating, but it remained coherent in the meaning of main values The main influence on Kuroń’s political program had the changing social conditions, but its base was Kuroń’s ideological beliefs. Kuroń – for all his life – considered himself as a man of the left. In the system of Kuroń’s ethical and humanistic values, the main was human being – living and functioning in the society. Kuroń as an author of political program considered his work not only in the categories of political visions, but he treated it as a realization of some kind of ethos. He used to treat the politic as a space of giving a testimony of values and political attitudes, connected to the term of the left, he believed in. For all his life Kuroń was looking for such concepts, that would let him to its full implication.

Opis:
The aim of the article is to reconstruct the project of common education revolution of Jacek Kuroń. The base for this concept is found in the conviction that in the modern times, dominated by globalisations issues, human problems can only be solved globally. This project in an attempt to find a solution to contemporary problems through education and upbringing. The critical judgement of the changes taking place in the world at the end of the century and the previous socio-ideological experience made Jacek Kuroń create the project of “global education revolution”, intent to change the face of Human and the world. He claimed that there is a need for a global debate in all possible forms, in order to create a programme of a common educational revolution, the realisation of which may be an efficient counterweight to the contemporary, neoliberal globalisation of the world. Implementing the changes may be initiated only by the proper education movement, presenting itself in the creation of a new type of schools and other educational facilities, as well as formulation of a new vision of a grand social change and a deep change of interpersonal relations in the individual and common aspect, based on social justice. This is a voice of a moralist and humanist, vulnerable to human harm and feeling responsible for the future.

 „List do Partii” Jacka Kuronia i Karola Modzelewskiego pojawia się w podręcznikach historii od niedawna i przedstawia się go jako pierwszy otwarty protest polskich intelektualistów przeciw nadużyciom komunistycznego systemu. Już takie interpretacyjne osadzenie tego dokumentu stwarza fałszywe wrażenie, że sam komunizm był dobrym rozwiązaniem, a zło wynikało z tego, że jego reguł nie przestrzegano. Opracowania Kuronia i Modzelewskiego historiograficznego, historiozoficznego i politycznego znaczenia nabiera dopiero po latach pod wpływem lewicowej jego interpretacji. Pomija się w niej jego trockistowski i rewizjonistyczny w stosunku do komunistycznej ideologii charakter. Niestety uczniowie dostają do poznania gotową jego interpretację, która nie pozwala im na zrozumienie tego. A to, że wzmianka o nim znajduje się w szkolnej książce, stwarza złudne wrażenie, że był on istotnym elementem antykomunistycznego oporu. A tak nie było. Za sprawą umieszczenia go w nauczaniu historii próbuje się także dowartościować ich autorów, a także zbagatelizować ich wcześniejsze zaangażowanie do budowę komunizmu w Polsce.  
The Open Letter to the Party by Jacek Kuroń and Karol Modzelewski has appeared in history textbooks only recently and has been presented as the first open protest of Polish intellectuals against the abuse of the Communist system. Such an interpretation of the document creates a false impression that Communism was indeed a good solution and all its evil was the consequence of the fact that its rules were not adhered to. Kuroń and Modzelewski’s manifesto had been known for many years before it finally gained historiographic, historiosophical and political significance. This was largely due to the influence of its leftist interpretation, which ignores its Trotskyist and revisionist character in relation to the communist ideology. Unfortunately, since students are presented with a ready interpretation of the text, they are unable to understand it properly. The fact that the letter is mentioned in school textbooks creates an illusion that it was an important element of the anti‐communist resistance; however, this is not what actually happened. Including the text in the history curriculum aims at not only appreciating its authors but also downplaying their earlier engagement in building Communism in Poland.
