The article discusses issues connected with payments executed for the benefit of shareholders and offers a description of the specificity of dividend payment and buy back with the purpose of remittance. It emphasizes the investors' reception of changes of the dividends paid and indicates what factors influence the dividend policy. The article also depicts two solutions enabling to divide the profit depending on the available profitable material investment projects of companies. In addition, the dividend payout rate for all the companies listed on Warsaw Stock Exchange in the period 2002-2011 has been analised, and for selected companies from Warsaw Stock Index WIG20 the corellation between dividend payout and profit, supplementary and reserve capital, as well as capital expenditures has been studied.

Innowacyjność to istotny czynnik, dzięki któremu przedsiębiorstwa są konkurencyjne. Innowacyjne przedsiębiorstwa to takie, które nie boją się zmian i skutecznie je wprowadzają. Dziś jesteśmy świadkami przemian, jakie zachodzą w gospodarkach światowych oraz dynamicznie rozwijających się nowych rynkach. Przedsiębiorstwa, chcąc nadążyć za tymi zmianami, powinny najpierw tworzyć strategie działania, które pozwolą im wprowadzić innowacyjne rozwiązania. W artykule omówiono sytuację przedsiębiorców, którzy chcą się rozwijać, zwiększać sprzedaż, wprowadzać nowe produkty i inwestować w nowe technologie, jednak nie mają określonego planu działania w formie spisanej strategii firmy, co powoduje, że tkwią w miejscu. Należy najpierw wprowadzić zmiany organizacyjne w zarządzaniu firmami a następnie działać.
Innovativeness is an important factor owing to which enterprises are competitive. Innovative enterprises are such which are not afraid of changes and they introduce them efficiently. Today we are witnesses of the transformations taking place in global economies and dynamically developing new markets. Enterprises, wishing to keep up with these changes, should first create activity strategies which allow them introducing innovative solutions. In her article, the author discussed the situation of entrepreneurs who want to develop, to increase sales, to introduce new products and to invest in new technologies but they do not have a definite plan of action in the form of drawn up strategy of the firm, what causes that they stick in the same place. First, one ought to introduce organisational changes in company management, and then to act.

The beginning of the 21st century is full of dynamic and multidimentional changes in the world economy. The integration and globalization porcesses happening currently, which have brought about the occurance of new possibilities in the functioning of markets, states and enterprises, can be regard as the most important economic changes. Such processes have posed both new challenges and possibilities of develop ment to them. The aim of the article was to try to describe the changes in the resources of financing investing activities of enterprises, which appeared in the first decade of the 21st century, in the chosen countires of Central and Eastern Europe. The research method was chosen from the point of view of the adopted aim. The research method involved collecting the data coming from the chosen countries and carrying out statistical analysis. The starting point was theoretical consideration on basic possibilities to finance investments taking into consideration the successive stages of the development of an enterprise. In the following part the article attention was focused on the analysis of statistical data charakterizing the sector of small and medium enterprises in relation to access to financial resources. The economies of European Union and Central and Eastern Europe were chosen to be analysed and compared. The following countres are regarded: Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia. The article ends with summary showing the integrating economies of Central and Eastern Europe approaching the changes characterisic of European Union economy.

Celem artykułu jest identyfikacja skali i struktury nakładów inwestycyjnych przedsiębiorstw handlowych z kapitałem zagranicznym i określenie ich wpływu na handel artykułami konsumpcyjnymi w Polsce. Przedmiotem analizy jest wielkość, dynamika oraz struktura nakładów inwestycyjnych oraz liczba i dynamika sklepów i magazynów hurtowych oraz ich struktura wg wielkości i form handlu. Analizą objęto również miękkie skutki inwestycji tj. organizację handlu, rozwój marek własnych. Dla określenia wpływu inwestycji przedsiębiorstw z kapitałem zagranicznym na handel w Polsce, zastosowano analizę porównawczą stanu i struktury zasobów rzeczowych zagranicznych i krajowych przedsiębiorstw handlowych, sposobu organizacji firm oraz zarządzania sferą zakupu i sprzedaży. Analiza objęła lata 2008-2013. Podstawę analizy stanowiły dane GUS (ostatnie dostępne pochodzą z 2013 r.), a także inne materiały ze źródeł wtórnych (artykuły, referaty, zasoby internetu) oraz własne badania dotyczące organizacji handlu detalicznego i hurtowego.
An aim of the article is to identify the scale and structure of investments carried out by commercial enterprises with foreign capital share and to determine their impact on trade in consumer goods in Poland. The subject matter of analysis is the volume, dynamics and structure of investment outlays as well as the number and dynamics of shops and warehouses and their structure by the size and form of trade. The analysis also covered soft effects of investments, i.e. trade organisation and private label development. In order to determine the impact of investments carried out by enterprises with foreign capital on trade in Poland the author carried out a comparative analysis of the state and structure of tangible assets of foreign and national commercial enterprises, the way the firms are organised, and management of the sphere of purchases and sales. The analysis comprised the years 2008-2013. The basis for the analyses was CSO’s data (the recent available are from the year 2013) as well as other materials from secondary sources (articles, papers, Internet’s resources) and own surveys on the organisation of retail and wholesale trade.

The article analyzes organizational strategies of the enterprises qualified in four stages to share in the National Investments Founds. Figures allow to assert, that in the organizational practice dominates the exploratory type of strategy, which aims to review and test the new products in order to search for the new sales markets. Largely enterprises in the chemistry, machine building, electric machine building and light industry branches declare themselves in favor of that strategy. One third of the enterprises out of the sample pursue some analytical strategy of hybrid type, which can be describe as carry out innovative or adaptive activity, suitable for the conditions. That strategy predominates in the raw materials, lumber-paper and light industry branches. On the other hand, every fifth enterprise, particularly in the construction industry, follows the defensive strategy.

The article deals with the problems of the financial environmentally oriented activities. In the article the structure of capital investments of Rivne region of environmental protection has been investigated. The features of financing environmentally oriented companies have been learned. Much attention is paid to the activities of venture capital funds and collective investment.
Статья посвящена проблемам финансового обеспечения экологически ориентированной деятельности. В статье приводится структура капитальных инвестиций Ровенской области на охрану окружающей природной среды. Выяснены особенности финансирования экологически ориентированных предприятий. Значительное внимание уделено деятельности венчурных фондов и институтам совместного инвестирования.

Cel – Celem artykułu jest charakterystyka instrumentów podatkowych wspierających innowacyjność polskich przedsiębiorstw i stymulujących podejmowanie nowych inwestycji oraz ocena ich wykorzystania. Metoda badawcza – Zastosowano metodę analizy aktów prawnych oraz źródeł statystycznych. Wnioski – Stymulowanie innowacji polega na zmniejszeniu podstawy opodatkowania podatkiem dochodowym o koszty kwalifikowalne działalności B+R. Rodzaj i zakres tych ulg jest zmienny w czasie. Przywileje przyznawane polskiemu przedsiębiorcy są mało skuteczną zachętą do wprowadzania innowacji i nowych inwestycji. Jednym z czynników hamujących procesy wytwarzania i wdrażania innowacji jest niepewność zmieniającego się makrootoczenia przedsiębiorstwa. Przydatnym kryterium oceny polityki innowacyjnej jest wynik analizy kosztów i korzyści wynikających ze stosowania instrumentów fiskalnych. Mierzalnym kosztem stosowania przywilejów jest utrata dochodów podatkowych budżetu państwa, a korzyścią przyszły wzrost innowacyjności gospodarki. Oryginalność / wartość / implikacje / rekomendacje – Własna ocena skuteczności instrumentów fiskalnych i funkcji stymulacyjnej podatków.
Purpose – The aim of the article is to present and describe tax instruments designed to support innovation in Polish enterprises and stimulate new investments and also to evaluate the effectiveness of their use. Research method – The method of analysis of legal acts and statistical sources was applied. Results – Innovation is stimulated by reducing the income tax base by eligible costs of R&D activities. The nature and extent of these tax reliefs are variable over time. The preferences made available to Polish entrepreneurs are an ineffective incentive for innovation and new investments. One of the factors hindering the processes of production and implementation of innovations is the uncertainty of the changing macro environment of the enterprise. The outcome of the cost-benefit analysis of tax instruments is a useful criterion for assessing innovation policy. The measurable cost of the application of the preferences is the loss of tax revenue for the state budget, and the benefit is the future growth of innovation in the economy. Originality / value / implications / recommendations – Personal evaluation of fiscal instruments effectiveness and the tax stimulus function.

The aim of the article is to analyse the investment activity of micro-enterprises from the Lubelskie voivodeship, and to indicate the sources of its financing, with particualar emphasis on EU funds. During the period 2009-2013, the investment outlays of micro-enterprises from the Lubelskie voivodeship were subject to significant fluctuations. The data analysis indicates the moderate investment activity of entities from the other regions of Poland. Micro- and small enterprises from the Lubelskie voivodeship financed their investments mainly from their own resources. The usage of UE funds in investment financing was relatively small. For micro-entrepreneurs from the Lubelskie voivodeship, barriers to using EU funds of particular importance were: bureaucracy, lack of own resources, and insufficient knowledge.

Niniejszy artykuł przedstawia zagadnienie bezpośrednich inwestycji zagranicznych (BIZ) oraz główne czynniki je determinujące. Wyjaśnienie istoty tego zjawiska zaprezentowano z wykorzystaniem tzw. paradygmatu OLI. Rozważania o charakterze teoretycznym wzbogacono analizą zasadniczych tendencji w realizacji strategii umiędzynarodowienia polskich przedsiębiorstw w formie BIZ. W tym celu wykorzystano bazy danych statystycznych UNCTAD oraz NBP dotyczące przepływów inwestycji zagranicznych w latach 1990-2017.
This paper presents the issue of foreign direct investment (FDI) and the main factors determining it. The concept of foreign direct investment is presented based on the so-called the OLI paradigm. Theoretical considerations are supplemented with the analysis of major trends concerning foreign direct investment of polish enterprises. The analysis draws on the UNCTAD statistical database and the database of Poland’s central bank illustrating foreign investment flows in the years 1990-2017.

The authors used statistical tools to analyze the relationship of fiscal support instruments and the level of the investment of industrial micro, small, and medium–sized enterprises in comparison to large companies in Poland in the years 2006–2014. The results revealed that there is a significant relationship between the level of investment in micro–, small–, and medium–sized enterprises and the majority of tax instruments. There is a negative relationship between the instruments and some of other factors that should influence on the investments of enterprises.

Nowadays competitiveness of enterprises is determined by the size and range of implemented investment projects. The investments need to involve necessary resources. In the case of the SME sector, enterprises have limited financial assets. Therefore, Poland’s accession to the European Union and the opportunity to use its funding is a chance for development of this sector. The aim of the paper is to discuss the significance of EU funds in investments of SMEs and to present the most important advantages and barriers to their spending. The research methods used in this paper are: study of literature and analysis of secondary data. The research material comprises programming documents and the results of research carried out at the request of the European Leasing Fund, the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development and the Polish Confederation Lewiatan. Conclusions: EU funding is an attractive source of financing investments for enterprises. It is one of the most affordable forms of obtaining capital. Acquisition of additional financial means can determine the start of an investment, extend its scope, increase its rate and improve its quality. However, in practice the share of EU funds in financing SMEs investments is still small and entrepreneurs face many barriers to using this form of support. Major obstacles include: excessive bureaucracy, strict procedures, over-scrupulous office workers, lengthy verification of payment applications, as well as delays in payments to beneficiaries.

W artykule scharakteryzowano istotę procesu planowania inwestycji ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem podejmowania decyzji na podstawie oceny efektywności ekonomicznej i ryzyka oraz symulacji probabilistycznej. Następnie przedstawiono opracowane modele planowania inwestycji rozwojowych oraz odtworzeniowo-modernizacyjnych w przedsiębiorstwach produkcyjnych. Zastosowanie modeli umożliwia wskazanie optymalnego wariantu inwestycyjnego pod względem efektywności ekonomicznej oraz ryzyka, przy uwzględnieniu danych warunków ograniczających, co stanowi podstawę podjęcia racjonalnych decyzji.
The article characterize the essence of the investment planning process taking into account making decisions based on the evaluation of economic effectiveness and risk, as well as probabilistic simulation. Next, developed models of planning development investments and reconstruction-modernization investments in production enterprises was presented. The use of these models allows to point out optimal investment scenario in terms of economic effectiveness and risk, taking into account limitations, which is the basis to take rational decision.

W artykule poddano analizie kwestię potencjału inwestycyjnego przedsiębiorstw gospodarujących na gruntach poddanych melioracji. Poza tym zaproponowano i wyjaśniono określenie «zintegrowany potencjał inwestycyjny» w odniesieniu do przedsiębiorstw działających w branżach pokrewnych. W artykule przedstawiono mechanizm organizacyjny stymulowania działalności inwestycyjnej przedsiębiorstw na gruntach osuszanych poprzez zmeliorowanie. Poza tym opisano kwestię poprawy organizacyjno-ekonomicznego mechanizmu kompleksowego inwestowania przedsiębiorstw gospodarujących na zmeliorowanych gruntach. Opracowany został model stymulowania inwestycji kompleksowych w eksploatację zmeliorowanych obszarów.
The article deals with the concept of «investment potential of the enterprises on drained lands». The «integrated investment potential» for enterprises in adjoining spheres is offered. In the paper the organizational mechanism of stimulating the investment activity of enterprises on drained lands is proposed. The organizational and economic mechanism of complex investments’ implementation at enterprises on drained lands is improved. In the article the model of stimulating the complex investments in drained lands is developed.
В статье рассмотрена сущность понятия «инвестиционный потенциал предприятий, хозяйствующих на осушаемых землях», предложено введение термина «интегрированный инвестиционный потенциал» для предприятий, работающих в смежных отраслях, а также предоставлено его толкование. В статье предложен организационный механизм стимулирования инвестиционной деятельности предприятий на осушаемых землях и усовершенствован организационно-экономический механизм комплексного инвестирования предприятий, хозяйствующих на осушаемых землях. Разработана модель стимулирования привлечения комплексных инвестиций в эксплуатацию осушаемых земель.
