The service of an evangelist is an important element of anglosasc protestantism. An evangelist has a huge influence on believers in shaping the awareness of their experience of God. He can do it by his zeal in calling for conversion and reminding about the meaning of the cross. Thanks to a style of his preaching he provides an audience to emotions that are necessary in a progress of the faith. The office of an evangelist was forgotten in a reality of the Catholic Church, although it has biblical roots. For this reason, it is to worth to pay attention to the mission of the evangelist in a catholic context.

The above considerations demonstrate that in their preaching, the Eastern Churches wanted to spread the Gospel so that it could move the people as the Saviour’s Word. If, in many cases, the preachers were monks, their preaching was very spiritual and ascetic. The preachings considered the political and social situation of the members of individual Eastern Churches. The churches were, to much extent, located on Muslim territories where they were persecuted. The preaching took this difficult situation of eastern christians into consideration as well. Now, the majority of the Eastern Churches are persecuted by Muslims or limited, as in Russia. This situation is a demonstration of the martyrdom of the Eastern Christians.

Preaching the word of God is the part of the ministry of the divine word. The activity belongs exclusively to the Church and is regulated by the church law, but it is also under regime of Polish law. The article focuses on the Polish civil law and treats about: copyright law, the protection of secret information in labor law and in educational law, the obligation of silence before election day, and protection of personal interests. The catholic ministers must be aware of the civil liability for the preaching.
Kaznodziejstwo jest częścią posługi słowa Bożego. Działalność ta należy wyłącznie do Kościoła i jest regulowana prawem kościelnym, ale podlega także polskiemu prawu. Artykuł koncentruje się na polskim prawie cywilnym i traktuje o prawach autorskich, ochronie tajemnicy służbowej w prawie pracy i prawie oświatowym, obowiązku ciszy wyborczej i ochronie dóbr osobistych. Katoliccy kaznodzieje muszą być świadomi odpowiedzialności cywilnej za to, co głoszą.

Kaznodziejstwo wędrowne może wydawać się przestarzałą formą przepowiadania Ewangelii. Dla wielu kojarzy się przede wszystkim z mówcami żyjącymi w XIX w. Nic bardziej mylnego. Kaznodziejstwo wędrowne jest ciągle aktualną propozycją. Trzeba jedynie odnaleźć nowy „teren”. Przestrzeń, w której mówca spotka się z współczesnym mu słuchaczem. Ten zaś zatrzyma się, choćby na chwilę, aby przyjąć orędzie o Jezusie Chrystusie, który zbawia. Artykuł prezentuje interesującą, ciągle aktualną, metodę głoszenia, którą opracował osiemnastowieczny kaznodzieja George Whitefield. Sięgając do jego tekstów można wydobyć główne cechy jego kaznodziejskiego warsztatu. Koncentruje się on na konkretnej strukturze formalnej kazania oraz odpowiedniej treści, a także na dramatycznym stylu głoszenia. Proponowana przez niego droga jest aktualną podpowiedzią dla dzisiejszych głosicieli słowa Bożego.
The itinerary preaching may seem like an outdated form of preaching the Gospel. For many, it is associated primarily with orators living in the nineteenth century. Nothing could be more wrong. The itinerary preaching is still a valid proposition. Just a new “area” must be found. A space where the orator meets listeners for his contemporary times. They would stop, even for a moment, to receive the message about Jesus – the Saviour. The article presents an interesting, and still valid, method of preaching developed by 18th-century preacher George Whitefield. Referring to his texts may to reveal the main features of his preaching workshop. He focuses on the specific structure of a sermon and a relevant content, as well as the dramatic style of preaching. The path he proposes is a current suggestion for today’s preachers of the Word of God.

Kaznodziejstwo jest częścią posługi wobec Słowa Bożego. Działalność ta należy wyłącznie do Kościoła, i jako taka jest regulowana przez prawo kanoniczne. Jednakże z tego powodu, iż nauczanie to, zazwyczaj głoszone jest publiczne i w miejscach publicznych, kaznodziejstwo podlega także prawu polskiemu. Rozważania zawarte w niniejszym artykule skupiają się na kaznodziejstwie w optyce polskiego prawa karnego: przestępstwa zniesławienia, zniewagi, obrazy uczuć religijnych i znieważenia grupy lub osoby. Katoliccy duchowni muszą być świadomi odpowiedzialności karnej za treść głoszoną w czasie kazań. Artykuł kończy się wnioskami i postulatem de lege ferenda, zmierzającym do tego, aby działalność kaznodziejska została wyłączona spod karnych regulacji państwowych. W kontekście niebezpieczeństwa wprowadzenia do polskiego system prawnego przestępstwa mowy nienawiści („hate speech”), głoszenie przez Kościół katolicki własnej doktryny oraz oceny moralnej zachowań czy zjawisk społecznych, mogłoby by zakwalifikowane jako dyskryminacja.
Preaching the word of God is the part of the ministry of the Divine word. The activity belongs exclusively to the Church and is regulated by the church law. But due to the fact that the preaching is most often held publicly and in the public places, it is also under regime of Polish law. The article focuses on Polish criminal law. The catholic ministers must be aware of the criminal responsibility for the preaching. The paper concludes with the postulate de lege ferenda that preaching should be established as the circumstance that precludes penal responsibility. It is needed in the hazard of the fact that the law on “hate speech” would be introduced into polish legal system. Due to the wide definition of hate speech the teaching of the Church could be considered as discriminating.

Opis:
The article analyses the manuscript of collected sermons entitled Syllabus Marianus and written by the baroque preacher Antoni Węgrzynowicz. The manuscript provides an insight into Węgrzynowicz’s work as a preacher and serves as a source of biographical information. Based on the changes that the preacher made to the epigrams (which are a typical element of the sermons), the article argues that Węgrzynowicz himself was their author (so far, these works have been regarded as fragments of Marian hymns). The manuscript also includes two pages that are unrelated to the collection. One of them features an outline of the sermon that Węgrzynowicz preached to his confreres on the feast of Christmas in 1715. These notes also reveal some tricks of the preacher’s art. The information that the second sheet contains gives insight into the everyday life in an 18th-century monastery.

The subject of this article is a problem of toxic preaching. It was analyzed most of all on the ground of the opinions about Sunday sermons. Toxic sermons was considered in a twofold aspect. First it were composed objections to Sunday preaching, and then were analyzed a several themes which have toxic influence on the listeners of Sunday sermons: image and concept of God, Christian eschatology, suffering, will of God, concept of the Church, ecclesiastical teaching and freedom, sexual and marital moral and politic. The conclusion is that there is necessary to take into consideration rules of interpersonal communication rules and reliable theology by preachers.

The article presents the work of the Dominican preacher Gabriel Zawieszko (? – 1649). Each of his six collections of sermons is subordinated to the title metaphor, which (more or less) determines the inventional and compositional shape of individual volumes, individual sermons and arguments. Leopolita as the first Polish preacher so consciously and extensively applied the concept to sermons and entire collections, combining it with the exegesis of spiritual sense (sensus misticus). A similar way of forming collections of sermons is found in Poland only in the second half of 17th century.
Artykuł przedstawia twórczość dominikańskiego kaznodziei Gabriela Zawieszki (? – 1649). Każdy z jego sześciu zbiorów kazań podporządkowany jest tytułowej metaforze, która (mniej lub bardziej) wyznacza kształt inwencyjny i kompozycyjny poszczególnych tomów, pojedynczych kazań i argumentów. Leopolita jako pierwszy polski kaznodzieja tak świadomie i szeroko zastosował koncept w kazaniach i całych zbiorach, łącząc go w wielowymiarowym wykorzystaniem w egzegezie sensu duchowego. Podobny sposób formowania zbiorów kazań spotykamy w Polsce dopiero w drugiej połowie XVII wieku.

W artykule podsumowano historyczne perspektywy, które są bardziej wyczerpujące niż jakikolwiek podsumowanie w najnowszej literaturze. Przegląd ten prowadzi do wskazówek, jak badać, czym jest a czym nie jest głoszenie kazań.

Artykuł podejmuje problem wpływu czynnika technologicznego na percepcję homilii głoszonej podczas Mszy św. transmitowanej w radiu, telewizji czy też za pomocą streamingu internetowego. Przepowiadanie słowa Bożego jest poddane tym samym prawom, co inne transmisje live. Homilia słuchana w radiu pozbawiona jest warstwy wizualnej, a homilia transmitowana w telewizji oraz Internecie dociera do odbiorcy w wersji wizualnej zmontowanej przez reżysera obrazu. Obie formy różnią się od homilii wysłuchiwanej i oglądanej na żywo w kościele. Percepcja uwarunkowana medium, za pośrednictwem którego dokonuje się transmisja, warunkuje recepcję treści kazania. I choć skuteczność nadprzyrodzona słowa Bożego nie jest deterministycznie powiązana ze skutecznością komunikacyjną czy retoryczną, medialne pośredniczenie w odbiorze kazania nie pozostaje bez wpływu na jego skuteczność.
The article discusses the influence of the technological factor on the perception of a homily preached during Holy Mass broadcast on the radio, television or via internet streaming. The preaching of the word of God is subject to the same laws as other live broadcasts. The homily listened to on the radio is devoid of a visual layer, and the homily broadcast on television or the Internet reaches the recipient in an edited visual version. The two forms differ from the homily heard and watched live in church. The conditioned perception of the medium through which the transmission takes place determines the reception of the content of the sermon. And although the supernatural effectiveness of the word of God is not determined by the communicative or rhetorical effectiveness, the media mediation in the reception of the sermon has an impact on its effectiveness.

The development of information technology has a profound impact on all areas of life without exception. These technologies are tools that enable the user not only to obtain information, select, process and manage it but also pass it on to other people. In the context of the media  society also a preacher of the word of God during Sunday and holiday masses cannot ignore the assistance they offer if he wants to avoid the danger that his efforts will be treated as a kind of an open-air museum. The main thread of the study is therefore an attempt to identify opportunities for the use of  these technologies in the homilist’s skills and tools because they can provide an interesting and profitable alternative to traditional forms of homiletic expertise. Attention is drawn to the fact that in order to use these technologies efficiently and in accordance with the nature of the homily  they should be treated only as a supporting source that provides preaching  material.

The article constitutes an attempt to show in a synthetic way the main elements of Jagiello’s policy in relation to the Polish Church and the latter one’s situation in the complex reality of the western schism, the conciliar movement as well as Hussitism; it also draws attention to the most important processes taking place in the Gniezno province. The author of the article also describes the monarch’s active policy in relation to the issue of appointments to church posts. As a rule it was the well-educated people who had proved themselves in the service of the monarch’s office as well as in the diplomatic service who were appointed as heads of bishoprics. The monarch had also conducted an active policy in relation to the appointments of some prelatures and canonries in cathedral chapters. The article discusses the foundational activity of the king and its impact on the development of the parish network.While presenting the reform initiatives within the Polish Church at the time of the great western schism and the conciliar movement, the author tries to prove that it was the synods and their legislation that became the main instrument of these changes. In the synodal statutes one can observe a process of gradual deepening of the religious life of the faithful as well as striving to their moral formation. The intellectual and moral requirements as regards the clergy and their pastoral ministry were also on the increase. The author proves that the figures of Queen Hedwig and Ladislaus Jagiello had played a key role in the history of the state and of the Polish Church at the turn of the 14th and at the beginning of the 15th century and that the most important fruits of their activity and decisions have continued to exert an impact throughout centuries right up until the present times.

The main purpose of the article was to investigate the Internet activities of the Dominican Order and to determine what contributes to their media success. The content analysis method and the Internet survey method were used in the undertaken research. The publication presents the history of the religious congregation, paying attention to the charism. The first part of the work presents the definitions and issues related to preaching and new evangelization as well as the possibility of using the Web in relation to preaching. The second part of the article contains an analysis of the activities of Dominicans on the Internet based on the YouTube channel of Father Adam Szustak „Langusta na palmie” and the videoportal dominikanie.pl, which is enriched with the results of the survey. The third part of the work consists of conclusions and verification of the research hypotheses put forward by the author.
