Różnice w postrzeganiu przestrzeni domowej i zewnętrznej między osobami z rodzin wielodzietnych i rodzin z jedynakami Differences in the Perception of Domestic Space and Space Outside the Home by Members of Large Families and Families with an Only Child
This article presents a pilot study report on a sample of 21 high-school students from Krakow. The aim of the study is a preliminary determination of the way in which respondents perceive and use domestic space. A feeling of the home as important space, both common and indivisible, predominated amongst the surveyed students. Almost all respondents single out a fragment of domestic space as “their property” (their rooms, furniture - beds, desks, shelves); furthermore, they divide the space at home into that which is more important and less important. The differences in the results obtained between an only child and children from large families are more quantitative than qualitative.
