The article is devoted to situation, in which agriculture in Malopolska Voivodeship had
found itself in first year after war activities finish. In this period state industry had contended with different
problems. Good organization and improvement of efficiency had not been able to be led in
the industry. In relation to prewar production, productivity of firms amounted to only from 20 to 30%.
Increasing costs of state firms had carried with increase of industrial articles’ prices. In the end, at
the end of 1945 occurrence “prices scissors” had intensified to agricultural products’ disadvantage.
This difficult economic situation in Poland had affected especially disadvantageously on agriculture
situation. Rebuild of country destroyed in results of war activities in Malopolska
Voivodeship had proceeded very slowly. The main obstacle was the lack of sufficient amount
of building materials. While, the Ministry of Supply and Trade had saddled farmers with compulsory
non-cash services. Excessive measurement of services and war damages caused,
that Cracow Agriculture had founded itself in long-term production in depression. It is, therefore
no wonder that „stiff” market that could be the regulator in the sphere of food articles’ prices had
lost its significance very quickly. The rations of food had successively been reducing. On ration
coupons in I Category only bread and sugar could be received and only in minimal amount. Other
products were available only when any exceptional transport UNRRY had arrived.
