Przedsięwzięcia służące utrzymaniu lub przywracaniu wymaganej jakości wody w sieci wodociągowej

The considerations presented in this paper show that neither the improvement of water quality at the intake nor the modernization of the treatment train is a sufficient preventive measure because of the ever increasing deterioration of water quality in the distribution network. What deserves particular attention of the waterworks management is a continuing modernization or retrofit of the water-pipe system in order to upgrade the quality of the distributed water. In the present paper, a method of maintaining or re-establishing the desired water quality is proposed. The implementation of the method by the management of the Warsaw water distribution system not only has substantiated its utility in improving the quality of tap water, but also enables the operational service staff to intervene in case the quality of the water in the distribution system deteriorates.
