Badania nad owsicą dzieci z terenu Wielkopolski

The examinations of 4677 children at the age of 3-16 years from elementary schools, child homes and kindergartens of Great Poland showed the incidence of enterobiosis in 2650 cases (56.6%). No appreciable differences were found between the number of infected boys and girls. To establish the influence of social factors on the spread of the disease living, social and environmental conditions were compared in 3293 children under examination. In the group of children whose family lived in a flat with 1 person per 1 room enterobiosis occurred in 52%; with 2 persons per 1 room the invasion was found in 55.2%; when the amount of persons living in 1 room enterobiosis occurred in 60% of cases. The group of 1459 children living in the poorest housing conditions (more than 3 persons in one room) was affected in 62%. Children of peasants exhibited enterobiosis in 63.1%, of workers - in 60.6% and of intelligenzia - in 54.7%.
