Trockizm – zapomniana idea w dziejach polskiej myśli politycznej

Even though Polish followers of Trotskyism before World War II recruited themselves from the members of Communist Party of Poland, they were fought off by national police and Soviet powers. Not until 1956, thanks to Ludwik Hass and members of debating Croocked Circle Club, did they return to the former trend. Within this group, an “Open Letter to the Party” was written by Jacek Kuroń and Karol Modzelewski. In the wake of March 1968 events, many student activist once again undertook these ideas and fostered them on emigration. Another revival of the trend took place aft er August 1980 in the bosom of Independent Self-governing Trade Union “Solidarity”. Nevertheless, introducing the martial law on December 13th 1981 led to faltering of emerging Trotskyist opposition. Moreover, after 1989, at the time of forming so called “3rd Republic of Poland”, most of the politicians rejected this radical doctrine, following rather liberal or democratic concepts.
