The economic cooperation between the Socialist Republic of Czechoslovakia and the Polish People’s Republic has entered its fourth decade. Between the two countries there are close political, cultural, and economic contacts developing on the basis of the 1947 friendship, cooperation and mutual aid agreement ratified in 1967. Both countries aim at the same goal of the building of socialism and they mutually cooperate on a broad basis. In the economic field this cooperation includes the cooperative ventures of a variety of enterprises, scientific and technological cooperation and exchange of goods. Not less important is also the employment of Polish workers in Czechoslovakia. The author covers in the article: 1. Exchange of goods between the Socialist Republic of Czechoslovakia and the Polish People’s Republic, its extent and structure, indicating also which place in the goods traffic Poland occupies, and vice versa. 2. The employment of Polish workers in Bohemia, and with specification of the share of Polish workers in the employment in individual branches of economy of the Bohemia, and distribution of the Polish workers over the area of the Socialist Republic of Czechoslovakia (in which regions they are employed) and from which Polish districts they come. The author also shows in his work the dynamics of the goods traffic between the two countries and of the employment of Polish workers in the Socialist Republic of Czechoslovakia and emerging trends in this field.
