The paper presents the construction and chosen test results of multi-pole low speed generator with permanent magnets destined to gearless wind plant with vertical axis. Thanks to unique patented construction of its magnetic circuit, the generator has very low cogging torque despite to many poles. The paper contains images of rotor and stator of generator, measuring results of cogging torque, idle running characteristic, and the measurements of the influence of the load on the voltage generated by the generator. The generator is destined to wind turbine H Darius, it can also be useful in water plants.
