The issue of Polish political scene during the 2007 election campaign in the eyes of Tygodnik Powszechny constitutes an interesting scope of research. Tygodnik Powszechny is one of the most traditional Catholic socio-cultural weekly, which from its beginnings has had a float influence on public opinion and the face of Catholicism in Poland. Nowadays Tygodnik Powszechny does not avoid analysing the current political phenomena. Owing to is open character, the weekly publicizes reflections on a broad scope of issues related to the political situation in Poland. Polish political scene during the 2007 election campaign was evaluated by its editors on the basis of Christian, Catholic and democratic values. In accordance with the programme policy of the weekly, the emphasis was put on the ideas of humanitarism and democratic personalism and the need to introduce these ideas into political life in Poland.
