Kociewie na turystycznym szlaku

Among numerous well-known attractive places and regions in Poland, one can still discover an area that is scarcely known and untouched by a human hand or civilization. One of such places is Kociewie, despite the fact that its region is characterized by undeniable tourist and recreational advantages, enchanting landscapes, the various lie of the land, numerous lakes, rapid rivers, amazing forests and a range of species diversity amongst flora and fauna. Little do people know about the exact location of this area as well as its glamorous tourist attractions.The aim of this paper is to depict not only the advantages and cultural wealth of Kociewie as a region in northern Poland that is attractive for tourist, but also as an area that is worth seeing, touring and exploring its merits.The paper presents basic information concerning a general characteristic of the region, i.e. Kociewie’s geographical location and its natural environment. The article includes short descriptions of climatic conditions of the area, aquatic resources along with flora and fauna. Another presented aspect is the characteristic of landscape parks, nature reserves and the protected area of landscape in Kociewie’s region. Moreover, the abridged history of the area as well as the explanation of the city’s etymology and characterization of the Kociewiacy’s ethnic group is presented. To prepare out this paper the Author used of Polish literature on geography, history, art and culture included in scientific publications along with website pages.
