Nomadzi w społecznej historii stosunków międzynarodowych. Tyrania konstruktu

The aim of the article is to comprehend and reinterpret nomadism in social history of international relations. In a theoretical perspective of uneven and combined development, the author includes nomadism in the history of international relations and presents its fundamental significance in shaping historical and contemporary world. The article consists of four parts. In the first part, the author presents theoretical explanation of political multiplicity, and at the same time, shows genealogy of internationalism. The second part contains a short reconstruction of understanding nomadism in a historic tradition. The author discusses historic ideas on nomadism in Chinese, Greek, Islamic and Western traditions. In the third part, the author presents nomadism as a construct, presenting its two different interpretations: “stereotypical” and “alternative”. The fourth part of the article presents a reconstruction of the history of Eurasian international relations from their beginning till contemporary times, understood as a process of nations and peripheral cultures of central Eurasia moving in the direction of Eurasian peripheries, and the peripheral people and cultures moving in the direction of central Eurasia. To conclude, the author illustrates the processes of rebirth of nomads’ ancestors, both in central Asia and the United States of America. The author convinces one that without proper understanding of nomadism and recognizing its essential role in shaping contemporary world, one will not comprehend the history of international relations properly. Removing nomadism from history of the world is equivalent to removing thousands of years of history of human societies, which created this world to a fundamental degree.
